The day has been long

I've been tested sore

And just when I think

I can take no more

The whistle blows, and

It's time to go home

No one awaits me

I'll be all alone

But I will have peace

And quiet to spare

And relaxation

With no one else there

I love solitude

I don't get lonely

And I depend on

Me, and me only

When the time is right

True love will be mine

But until that day

This suits me just fine

I truly enjoy

My own company

I seldom get bored

I like being me

I have lots of friends

And when we go out

We have lots of fun

This isn't about

Being reclusive

Or introverted

It's just not like that

I haven't deserted

The old human race

I'm not a hermit

I'm content to wait

Till it's my turn at

Promising I will

Because once I do

It's written in stone

I'll always be true

So till that happens

I'm biding my time

And being alone
