Subtext: Yes. These two women love each other and after ...(how many seasons?)..., finally admit it.
If the idea of two women in love defends you, I am truly sorry. Love knows no color, sex, race. Love can develop between any one. Love knows no gender. True?

Gabrielle couldn't believe it. As she stood there watching the dust rise from
Argo's hoofs, she couldn't believe it. She wouldn't of believed it herself if
she wasn't here. Xena just left, without a goodbye or a look back. She found
herself sliding to the ground. Her legs were weak and she knew she couldn't
stand anymore. Her head lowered and she felt the tears threatening to spill
over. 'I'll let her go. If she wants to go, then fine. I'm tired of playing
these games. I'm not just another possession that she can leave behind, yet that
is exactly what she did. I don't care. Perhaps this is for the better.' She
stood up and turned to look at the dust again. 'Yeah right.' She
turned and walked away.
Eve looked up to see Gabrielle walk across the village. She stood and walked out of her hut to meet her. "Where are you going?" She didn't have to ask. "To her?"
Gabrielle nodded and reached forward to giver her a hug, then walked into the stables. "I need to find her. She doesn't want me come and find her but I have to. She's probably not thinking right and will get hurt." She hoped onto a horse and waved as she galloped away.
Eve watched her leave and smiled.

Xena looked up into the sky, noting the changing colors. She stood and walked
down the hill, toward her camp.
As she drew close she saw a figure sitting by the fire. She drew her sword and moved forward. She crouched into the bushes, watching the figure. When no movement was made, she stood up and walked into camp, sword raised and ready. "Who are you?"
The figure pulled back the hood and Xena gasped. "Gabrielle."
Gabrielle stared up at the warrior. "Xena."
Xena sheathed the sword. "How did you find me?"
"I was taught tracking by the best. Think I couldn't follow a simple trail. Its not like you made any effort to hide it."
Xena moved around the fire, to her bedroll and sat down. "Why did you follow me?" She didn't look up.
"I didn't want you to go alone."
"I've taken care of myself for years." She looked up.
Gabrielle saw the blue eyes held ice and a hint of danger. 'Maybe I needed you.' She looked away and stood up.
Xena looked back down at her dagger that she was sharpening. "You can go now."
Gabrielle walked forward and grabbed the dagger and stone, throwing it behind her. "Look at me."
Xena looked up.
Gabrielle didn't see any warmth in those eyes.
"So that's it. You're going to leave because of this." She held up the ring.
"Only fools ask for something they will never have."
"So I'm a fool?"
"You tell me." Xena looked away. "Go get my dagger and stone."
"I'm not your slave."
Xena rose and stood in front of Gabrielle.
Gabrielle took a step back. "I don't know you."
"I'm the same me."
"No, you're not. I don't see the Xena I know."
Xena gave a dark smile and reached for Gabrielle, pulling her against her. "Things change." She backed Gabrielle back against a tree.
Gabrielle pushed Xena, but she didn't move. "Let me go."
"Are we making orders?"
"You've snapped."
"Not yet." She grabbed Gabrielle by the wrists and pulled them behind the tree.
"Xena stop it!"
"Stop what?" Her knee nudged its way between Gabrielle's legs, spreading them. "Hmm?" Her free hand grabbed Gabrielle's breast and squeezed. "You can't tell me you don't want this. I've seen the way you look at me. Your eyes devour every piece of my skin when I walk into the same room."
"Stop it, Xena!"
"No. I'm going to give you what you've wanted." She bent down and kissed Gabrielle, smiling when the blonde turned her head. "I know you want this." She tilted her hips up to grind them against Gabrielle's. "You feel so good."
"Let me go."
"No." She rubbed her thigh between Gabrielle's legs. "You're excited, I can feel it." She slipped her hand from Gabrielle's breast to slid it under Gabrielle's skirt. "So good Gabrielle." She closed her eyes as she entered with two fingers. "So warm, so fucking hot."
Her eyes opened to see Gabrielle's closed. "That's it, give it." She moved faster till she felt Gabrielle's muscles start to clamp. She pulled back.
"Xena, don't."
Xena laughed. "Get out of here."
The bard didn't move.
"NOW!"
Gabrielle ran from the camp.
Xena opened her eyes and sat up, rubbing her face. "Oh no." She looked around to see that she was alone and in her camp. "Was it a dream?"
The night was silent, giving no reply.
The time to sleep was over and she stood, stretching out her muscles. Tilting her head to the side, she closed her eyes and felt the breeze.
She felt a tingle and gave a puzzled expression as she turned around.
A spark signified a god's approach.
Xena was surprised to see Aphrodite. "What do you want?"
The Goddess smiled. "Thought I was someone else?" She didn't wait for an answer. "I came to talk to you, Xena."
"About what?"
"Your relationship with Gabrielle."
"Stay out of it."
"I can't. I put you two together and I plan to see it through."
"Don't stick your nose in where it doesn't belong." She turned to go but was yanked back around.
"If you would take a second to listen to me, you'd realize that I'm here to help."
"So it was you who gave us the rings?" She rolled her eyes.
"Yes, I intended to make you realize what you had."
"Had? And what was that?"
"A soul mate."
Silence.
"Don't you see Xena, not everyone finds their soul mate. You have. Take advantage of that and go to her."
"No."
Aphrodite sighed. "You're stubborn, Xena. Don't be blind as well." She disappeared.
Xena shook her head to clear her thoughts and walked out of camp.
XXXXX
Gabrielle crept closer towards the camp. She could see Xena's bedroll and the
saddle bags. The fire looked like it had just been tended. She glanced around,
to look for Xena.
She walked into camp, eyes searching. Turning to her right, she saw Xena walk into camp.
The warrior was dressed in a slightly damp shift, her wet hair hung down one side. She stopped toweling her hair and looked up at Gabrielle, no expression on her face.
There was a moment of silence before Xena walked further into camp, throwing down her towel.
Gabrielle looked everywhere except at Xena. No expression was on her face although she felt like running to the warrior and hugging her.
Xena stepped closer to the bard. "Why are you here?"
"Should be obvious." She watched the warrior sit down. "Will you please talk to me?"
Silence.
Gabrielle kneeled down in front of her. "Please talk to me."
"What do you want me to say?"
"Anything. Hi.....nice to see you.....forgive me." Tears lined her green eyes.
"I left for a reason."
"Which was?"
Xena stood quickly, making Gabrielle fall backwards.
Gabrielle stood. "Then tell me why you kissed me." She saw Xena stop walking but the warrior didn't turn around. "Can you tell me why?"
"No."
"Just a spur of the moment thing?"
Silence.
"I understand." She turned. "I'm sorry I came." She walked into the woods.
Gabrielle made it out of camp and leaned up against a tree.
"Gonna sleep standing up?"
Gabrielle didn't move.
"Come here, Gabrielle."
Gabrielle walked into camp, no expression on her face, expecting the worse.
"Sit down, its getting late." She saw the bard sit down on the other side of the fire. "There are spare blankets in the saddle bags."
"Thank you." She stood to get them. "Xena."
"What?"
Gabrielle struggled with her words, but instead whispered a "goodnight?"
Xena didn't turn around as Gabrielle laid down, and jumped when she felt a hand on her shoulder. "I thought you were sleeping?" Her eyes closed when Gabrielle laid her head down on a shoulder.
"You shouldn't be alone."
"I'm not alone." She reached behind her and stroked Gabrielle's head.
Gabrielle stood and held out her hand. "Come on."
Xena took it and stood. "Gabrielle I..."
"Shh." She placed two fingers on Xena's lips. "I know. I'm not asking for more than you can give me." She removed her fingers. A smile came to her lips and she turned. "Don't stay up too late."
Xena watched Gabrielle lay back down. She ran a hand through her head and walked to her bedroll. She took one look across the fire at Gabrielle, then laid down, sleep not coming to her.
XXXXX
Xena woke up as the first rays of morning shone down on their camp. She turned
to look at Gabrielle but the bard wasn't there. A glance around told her she
wasn't in camp.
Xena stood and walked out of camp. She came to a lake and saw Gabrielle sitting on a rock, looking out into the water.
Gabrielle sighed and closed her eyes. Feeling Xena behind her, she turned. "Morning."
Xena didn't say a word and walked forward. "Come here."
Gabrielle stood and was pulled into Xena's arms. She closed her eyes, taking in Xena's scent, as she wrapped her arms around the body in front of her. "I needed this."
"We both did."
Gabrielle pulled back.
Xena wiped a tear from the bard's face. She leaned down, seeing Gabrielle close her eyes. she got so close she could feel Gabrielle's breath on her face. She pulled back. "I don't think this is a good idea."
Gabrielle opened her eyes and nodded. "You're probably right." She grabbed Xena's hand and led her away.
XXXXX
As the pair traveled, not a sound was heard from each.
Xena decided to walk and keep an eye on Gabrielle, who was walking in front of her. There was so much that needed to be said and yet, there was silence.
"Gabrielle." She saw the bard turn and looked up at Argo. "Wanna ride?"
"Can I ride in front?"
"Yes." She helped her up into the saddle and climbed up behind her.
Gabrielle smiled when Xena wrapped her arms around her. "This is nice."
Xena placed a small kiss on Gabrielle's shoulder. "Yes it is."
Gabrielle laid her head back against Xena. "So where are we going?" She closed her eyes when she felt Xena's breath against her neck. She turned to look at Xena and both women smiled.
"Comfortable?"
"Yes." She rubbed her cheek against Xena's neck and closed her eyes.
XXXXX
Gabrielle woke up a few hours before sunrise. One look over at the other bedroll
told her that Xena wasn't there.
She stood and looked around the campsite to see Xena's armor.
There was a small clearing near camp where she found the warrior drilling. She watched her as she back flipped across the grass. "You know one day we need to work on my flips."
Xena turned. "Just make sure you don't do it the hard way."
Gabrielle walked closer. "How? I don't have my staff anymore."
Xena shrugged.
"How long have you been up?"
Xena shrugged again.
"Do you know anything?"
Xena smiled and raised a brow teasingly.
"Is that a yes?"
Xena threw down her sword. "You sure can work off your mouth. How are your moves?"
"Don't know. Ask my trainer."
"Lets see how good you are."
Gabrielle took a step forward. "You're on."
Xena extended her arms, palm up and motioned for Gabrielle to move.
Gabrielle kicked up at Xena's midsection but it was blocked. She dropped down to knock Xena's legs out from under her, but the warrior jumped.
Xena flipped over Gabrielle, swinging her fist but it was blocked.
Gabrielle grabbed a fist when it was swung in front of her. She grabbed the other one and pulled them behind Xena's back.
Xena smiled. "Got me pinned."
"I know."
"You know I can just break free."
"Yeah, but you won't."
"True."
Gabrielle hooked a leg behind Xena's feet and pushed the warrior onto the ground.
"Clever."
"Mm hmm." Gabrielle let go of Xena's wrists and raised a hand to run two fingers across Xena's lips. She looked into Xena's eyes. "Can I?"
Xena reached up and gently pulled Gabrielle's mouth down to hers. She shuddered when she felt the bard's soft lips.
Gabrielle pulled back after a short time. "I want to really kiss you, but I know what'll happen if I do."
"And what's that?"
"I won't be able to stop." She rose off of Xena and stood up. "Let's get some breakfast." She walked away.
XXXXX
Gabrielle stood and walked around the fire. "Xena."
"Hmm?" She threw a bone into the fire, before looking up. "What?"
Gabrielle kneeled before her.
"What is it?" She felt a warm hand on her cheek and closed her eyes, leaning into it.
Gabrielle saw her eyes close and leaned forward, brushing her lips against Xena's. She felt Xena's hand at the back of her head and deepened the kiss.
Neither was prepared for the spark that shot through them.
A moan came from deep within Gabrielle's throat and she leaned forward. When Xena sucked her tongue into her mouth, she grabbed the back of Xena's head.
Xena pulled back, eyes still closed, breath labored. When she opened her eyes, Gabrielle was smiling. "Should of done that a long time ago."
"I agree. Your fault you know."
"Oh?"
"Yeah." She saw a sparkle in those blue eyes. "Uh oh."
"Yeah, you're gonna think uh oh." She lunged, knocking Gabrielle backwards onto the ground. She laid on top of her, pinning Gabrielle's wrists above her head. Her knees held Gabrielle's legs down. "Now what do you think?"
"You are so mean." She looked up into the playful blue eyes. "What are you going to do?" She smiled. "You wouldn't hurt me would ya?"
"I just might." She looked over Gabrielle's form with a hungry stare, before she got up and walked out of camp.
Gabrielle sat up, confusion shown on her face. She stood up and ran after Xena.
She saw Xena leaning against a tree. "You okay?"
"I'm fine."
Gabrielle pressed her body against Xena, looking into her eyes. "Is it me?"
Xena closed her eyes.
"Is that a yes?"
The eyes opened.
Gabrielle had a moment to make a sound before Xena pulled her mouth to hers in a hungry kiss.
When Xena pulled back, Gabrielle put a finger to her own lips to feel a bit of blood. "See right there."
"This doesn't scare me." She held out her finger. "I love you." She noticed that Xena made no move to speak. "I'll leave you alone then." She walked away.
When Xena came back into camp, Gabrielle was sleeping. She laid down next to her and stared up at the sky.
Xena jumped when Gabrielle suddenly rolled on top of her.
"Thought I was asleep didn't you?" She smiled and raised her brows.
"Tricky."
"I know. So have you had time to think."
"Yes."
"You okay now?"
"Yes."
Gabrielle licked Xena's lips, slowly.
Xena pushed her up. "Don't tease me." She pulled Gabrielle's mouth down to hers, rolling them over. She felt the laces being pulled on her leather battle dress. "Gabrielle."
"Shh." She started to slip it off, Xena's breasts being exposed. She stopped when she saw this and rolled her over, latching onto a soft nipple.
"Oh gods." Xena held Gabrielle's mouth to her. "Gabrielle." She threw her head back.
They heard a horse coming fast and stood, Xena relaced her tunic.
When it got close, they could see Eve.
"You two are not easy to find."
Xena sheathed her sword. "We get that a lot."
"Someone is at the village for you Gabrielle."
"Who?"
"I'm not really sure. I think she said her name was lilly...lillith...."
"Lila?" Gabrielle asked.
"Yeah, do you know her?"
"She's my sister." She grabbed her bedroll and tied it to Argo, then climbed on. "Let's go."
XXXXX
As they neared the village, Gabrielle got more and more excited. She had a
million questions.
When they reached the gates, Gabrielle started to get nervous. She tried to calm her breathing with no success. She felt Xena's arms tighten around her waist and closed her eyes. "I'm scared."
"Why? She's your sister."
"I know but its been so long."
Xena kissed the soft neck in front of her. "She'll love you. Nothing will change that."
Gabrielle let out a breath. "I know." She nodded. "Okay, I'm ready." She slowly slid down off of Argo, looking back at Xena. She saw Xena smile and turned to walk forward.
A dark haired woman walked out of the hut, a smile hitting her face the moment she saw the pair. "Gabrielle, Xena." She rushed forward and wrapped the two in an embrace. "Its so good to see you both." She pulled back and looked at her sister. "Its been too long. I thought you were lost to me."
"I almost was." She smiled. "But I'm...we're back."
Lila nodded. "Yes you are." She studied her sister for a moment, brushing back a strand of red, golden hair, between a small ear. "Who's the older sister now?"
Gabrielle hugged Lila again. "I may never let go."
Lila laughed. "Might have to. I have someone who wants to meet you. Actually more than one." She pulled back and walked into the hut, emerging a second later with a small child in her arms, and one more on a hand.
Gabrielle looked down at the little girl holding on so tightly to her mother's hand. Long black hair hung around her face, bright blue eyes shining back.
As she was handed the small child, she saw the same features, slightly lighter hair. "They're beautiful Lil."
"Thank you."
Gabrielle wiped a tear from her eye and handed the baby back. "My how things change."
Lila only smiled. "Things never stay the same. You of all people should know that." She handed the baby to Xena.
"Will you stay for dinner?" Gabrielle asked hopefully.
"I would love to, but we have to go."
"Will you come see me again?"
"Depends."
"On what?"
"On whether it will be easy to find you."
Gabrielle smiled. "We're not always easy to find."
"I know." She removed her cloak to reveal a swollen belly.
Gabrielle's mouth dropped and she laughed.
Lila rubbed her stomach and shook her head. "I'm glad you're okay. I don't know what I would have done if I had to come to terms with you being lost from me. Before I was always hopeful. Always expecting you to come and visit me. It didn't happen, but I have found you and won't let you go so easily." She smiled and turned, walking out of the village.
Gabrielle felt a hand on her shoulder and knew it was her warrior. "You have no idea how much I needed that."
"Yes I do." She laid her cheek down on Gabrielle's head, taking a breath. "Yes I do."

The gentle scent of lavender hung in the air.
Gabrielle, eyes closed, head resting back against the side of the tub, didn't notice someone coming in.
Xena stood in the entrance for a short time before moving forward to lightly caress Gabrielle's naked shoulder. She saw the small woman jump. "It's just me." The muscles under her hand relaxed. "You okay?" She kneeled behind her.
"I'm fine, just....saddened."
"Because of today? Having regrets?"
"No, never." She reached back to stroke the raven head behind her. "I just didn't expect things to change so much."
"With your sister?"
"Yes. When I last saw her, she was still....young. Now she's grown up, has a life, children. I just feel....."
"Old?"
"Exactly." She smiled. "You know me so well."
"I try." She laid her chin on Gabrielle's shoulder.
"I don't care what happens in this life..." She turned to look at Xena. "...as long as I still have you."
"You will always have me." She kissed the shoulder. "I'll always love you."
"I know."
"I should go, just wanted to see how you were."
"Do you have to?"
Xena nodded. "As much as I'd like to stay and join you, I can't."
"I understand."
"Today was...well it was a good thing we were interrupted."
"You're scared."
"Yes. I've never had this before Gabrielle, and I don't want to rush things." She gave a small smile.
Gabrielle smiled back and nodded. "Okay. I don't want things to get out of hand. I just couldn't help myself today. You are just so tasty." She smirked and winked.
Xena laughed. "Just keep your hands to yourself, bard."
"Not a chance, warrior." She twisted to face Xena, stroking her face. "You are so beautiful."
"Only for you."
Gabrielle smiled. "I'll love you till I die."
"Ditto." She leaned in for a soft kiss. "I thank every god that was responsible for bringing you into my life." She reached up to caress Gabrielle's cheek.
Gabrielle saw a flicker of silver and pulled back, grabbing Xena's hand. She gasped when she saw the small silver ring on her finger. Her eyes raised to those of light blue and she smiled. "I love you."
"I love you more."

Eve jumped when two hands hit the table. She looked up to see Gabrielle.
"Every thing go all right?"
Gabrielle nodded.
"So what is the plan?"
"Slow."
Eve smiled. "That's good."
"I know." She sat down.
"I'm happy for you."
"Thank you."
"You're welcome." She laughed. "Not every day I get two mothers." She turned to Gabrielle.
"Guess not."
Eve pulled her into a hug. "Thank you for standing by me, both of you."
"You're welcome. The moment I saw you enter this world, sweet angelic face, I knew you couldn't be bad. The first time I heard you laugh I knew I would do anything to protect you."
Eve looked away for a second before meeting Gabrielle's eyes. "Its hard to forget all that I've done."
Gabrielle nodded. "If there is one person who knows that, it's Xena. I'm not so perfect myself."
Eve put a hand to Gabrielle's shoulder. "I thank you for everything."
"No thanks needed." She saw Eve stand.
Gabrielle closed her eyes as she took a breath. She felt someone behind her and knew who it was. "Looking for me?"
"Yeah." Xena moved from behind her and took a seat. "You look pleased with yourself."
"Always." She laughed.
"You okay?"
"Yeah." She blew out a breath. "Kinda scared to go home though."
Xena pulled her closer. "Every thing will be okay. Nothing to fear."
"As long as I have you, I'll never fear anything again." She felt Xena's arms come around her. "Thank you."
"For what?"
"For being born so I'd have someone to love."
Xena smiled. "Took the words right out of my mouth."
Gabrielle turned in Xena's arms. "I'm tired."
"Go take a nap."
"Will you take one with me?"
"I'm not tired." She smiled at Gabrielle's stern look. "You can't order me, little one." She patted that adorable little nose.
"Oh yeah." She smiled and poked Xena in the ribs. "I have you wrapped around my little finger."
"Is that so?" She watched Gabrielle walk away. She shook her head.
Gabrielle turned to see Xena standing in the doorway. "See I told you."
Xena walked closer. "Yeah yeah, don't let it out. What would my enemies think."
"They'd think you were in love."
"And they'd be right." She pulled Gabrielle into her arms. "Totally fallen."
Gabrielle pulled back and
looked up at Xena. "Wrapped around my little finger." She spun a
finger around in circles, before walking to the bed and climbing in. She held
out her arms and smiled as Xena walked closer.

Gabrielle opened her eyes to see the sky still light. She turned over onto her
side and smiled when she saw Xena sleeping.
The warrior was on her stomach, hair over her face, arms tucked underneath her.
Gabrielle gently slid the hair from Xena's face and laid her head back down, facing the warrior. She was happy to watch her sleep until she felt the tears threatening to spill over her face. "How can one love so much." She took a deep breath, wiping the escaped tears. Biting her lip, she caressed Xena's face with a single finger.
Xena opened her eyes and smiled. "What are you doing up?"
Gabrielle was silent.
Xena raised her head. "You okay?"
"I'm fine."
There was an almost childish look on Xena's face. "You look confused."
"Not at all." She shook her head. "I'm more convinced of everything now."
"And why is that?"
"Just watching you sleep."
Xena scrunched her eye brows together. "Huh?"
"You look so peaceful."
Xena laid her head back down and rolled onto her side. "Now you know why I wake up first."
"Oh is that the reason."
Xena shrugged. "One of them."
Gabrielle slid closer and snuggled into Xena's neck. "I love you."
"I love you too." She wrapped an arm around Gabrielle, laying on her back. "Get some sleep."
Gabrielle closed her eyes and took in the scent and security of her warrior.

The next morning, Gabrielle woke to an empty bed. She raised up enough to see a
white rose on her pillow. Smiling, she picked it up smelled the fragrance.
There was a note next to it that read:
Morning love. I wanted to be here when you woke up but they had other plans. I went with the hunting party. Go back to sleep and I'll be there when you wake up.
Gabrielle smiled to herself, clutched the note and rose in one hand, then went back to sleep.

Gabrielle woke, feeling someone brushing the hair from her face. She opened her
eyes to see a dark beauty leaning over her. "How do you do that?" she
asked, referring to the note.
"I have..."
"Don't say it."
"..many skills."
Gabrielle winced. "You had to say it."
"Of course."
"Is there any thing that you can't do?"
Xena twitched her eye brows and smiled. "Not that I know of. But there are a few things I do better then others."
"Oh, and what are those?"
Xena smiled and leaned forward, capturing Gabrielle's lips, pulling back shortly.
"Mmm." Gabrielle licked her lips and grabbed the back of Xena's head, pulling her into another kiss that soon heated up.
Xena moaned when she felt Gabrielle run her hands down her back to pull her on top of her.
Gabrielle sighed when Xena's weight rested on her. She bend a knee, wrapping a leg around Xena's waist to pull her closer.
"Gabrielle we...."
"Oh gods I know. I know." She didn't break her hold. "I want you so much." She ran her hand down Xena's back again, grabbing onto her butt with both hands.
Xena raised up. "Baby, we need to stop."
"I know."
Xena rose off of Gabrielle and sat on the chair by the door. She rubbed her face and pulled her hair back. "That was close."
Gabrielle rolled onto her side. "Too close."
"The gods know I want to. Right now I'm wondering why I'm not."
"Slow."
"Yeah."
"How slow?"
"I don't know."
Gabrielle stood up and moved to stand in front of Xena. "Can't go too slow. After all, you've already seen me naked."
Xena chuckled. "Mmm, that I have." She reached forward, pulling Gabrielle onto her lap. Her eyes lowered to her fingers as they unlaced Gabrielle's top. As she slid it off her shoulders, she looked up at her. "Enough slow."
Gabrielle smiled.
"I take it you agree."
"Oh yeah." She groaned when Xena's mouth took hold of a nipple. "Mmm, enough slow." Her fingers wound they're way into the raven locks.
Xena rose with Gabrielle in her arms and walked to the bed. "Marry me."
Gabrielle nodded, not being able to speak.
Xena laid her bundle down onto the bed.
Gabrielle lifted her hips to help Xena remove her skirt. Once naked, she began to feel nervous."
Xena kissed her lightly. "We don't have to do this."
"I want to, I'm just nervous."
"Nothing to be nervous about love, it's just me, your warrior, about to make love to you."
Gabrielle smiled and reached back to unlace Xena's tunic. Slowly, she slid it down the warrior's body and sighed. "You are so beautiful, did I tell you that?"
Xena smiled. "I do believe so yes."
"Well get used to it. I'll say it a lot."
Xena slid off her breeches and laid down on Gabrielle.
Both women groaned at the intense feeling of each other.
Gabrielle sat up and looked around the room to see it empty. Had it been a dream? She took a few breaths to calm her racing heart, before getting out of bed.
Gabrielle spotted Xena in Eve's hut, discussing plans for something. "What are you doing?" She leaned over the table.
Xena looked up and smiled. "Trying to plan a party."
"A party. That's what the deep discussion was about."
"Yeah." She ruffled Gabrielle's short hair. "Sleep well?"
"Yes, thank you for the rose."
"You're welcome."
"I had a dream that I'll have to tell you about some time." She winked before she walked out.
Eve turned to her mother and smiled. "Rose?"
Gabrielle sat down on a stump and smiled to herself for no reason. She felt someone come up behind her and then hot breath along her neck. Her eyes closed and she visibly shuddered.
"Tell me about your dream?"
"I don't know if I should. Think you can handle it?"
"I know it."
Gabrielle turned around. "Well you did ask me to marry you."
"Oh?"
"Mmm, yes, it was a great dream."
Xena smiled. "I suppose I swept you off your feet and we made passionate love the whole night."
"Swept me off yes, love making no. I didn't get that far before I woke up." She nodded her head. "Which reminds me, you said that you would be there when I woke up."
"I know, and I'm sorry. Eve and I had some business to attend to."
"Ah yes, the party. I suppose I should forgive you. After all you look so cute when you pout. Stop it." She smacked her on the arm.
"I learned from the best." She gave her a quick kiss. "Meet you in the food hut."
"How di..." Her stomach took that time to waken up with a loud growl.
"I know you all too well, my love. Never forget that." She patted her on the nose.
Gabrielle stood. "Okay, see you there."
Xena watched her walk off with a secret smile on her face and the party on her mind. It would be a memorable event for sure.

Gabrielle stood up and moved to stand in front of Xena. "Can't go too slow.
After all, you've already seen me naked."
Xena chuckled. "Mmm, that I have."
Gabrielle smiled as she leaned back against the tree. She eyed the passing Amazons but didn't really notice they were there. Her thoughts were elsewhere. She saw Xena emerge from Eve's hut and gave the warrior a wink.
Xena walked over to Gabrielle, eyebrow raised. "And what do you want?"
"Should be obvious.....you." She reached forward and pulled Xena to her. "You smell good." She stuck her nose in between Xena's breasts and took in her scent. "I could stay here forever." She trailed kisses around the soft skin, noticing Xena's intake of breath.
"Slow Gabrielle."
"Mmm, yes I remember." She reached back and grabbed onto Xena's butt, pulling her forward.
"Gabrielle."
"Hmm?"
"Gabrielle."
"What?"
"Gabrielle!"
Gabrielle jumped awake, eyes searching around to see Xena standing over her. "Hi."
Xena smiled. "Hi yourself." She sat down next to her, leaning against the tree as well.
"I was dreaming."
"I saw that. Must have been another good dream."
"Oh yeah." She smiled then turned to her. "I mean, it was okay."
Xena laid a hand on the bard's knee. "You are something else, you know that."
"I tell myself that everyday actually." She laughed.
Xena shook her head and stood. "I'm going to go teach some Amazons a lesson."
"Go kick their butts."
"I will." And she was off.
Gabrielle laid her head back against the tree and sighed. "Some dream." She stood and walked to the field to watch her warrior in action. The sight there made her laugh.
There was a group around Xena but no one could get near enough to get at the woman.
Gabrielle saw a few Amazons go flying, followed by a bunch more. "Try not to kill anyone this time!" she joked.
When Xena turned to look at the woman, an Amazon got tricky and tried to get a punch in when she wasn't looking. She soon followed her sisters on the ground.
Xena stood tall and walked away from the group. "Wondering when you were going to come and help."
"Didn't look like you needed it."
Xena bent and picked the small bard up, swinging her around. "Sure I do."
Gabrielle reached out to stroke Xena's cheek. "I love you."
"I love you too." She leaned in to kiss her but pulled back.
"Don't tease me." She closed the distance between their mouths and grabbed the back of Xena's head to make sure she didn't go anywhere.
Both were breathless when they pulled back.
"You better get back to them." Xena set her down.
"See you at the party."
Gabrielle raised on her tip toes and kissed the warrior. "You had better."

Gabrielle stood over the clothes, trying to figure out how they were supposed to
be put on. She heard someone enter and knew instantly who it was. "Perhaps
you could help me?" She closed her eyes as she felt hot breath on her neck
and strong arms wrap around her waist.
"I could." She placed a soft kiss on her neck.
"Please."
"Don't beg yet."
Gabrielle twisted in Xena's arms. "Oh?"
Xena smiled and looked down at the bed. "I think I could help." She backed up away from Gabrielle. "Take your clothes off." She saw Gabrielle's look. "I'm going to help you dress." She shook her head and grabbed the clothes, putting pieces together.
Gabrielle laid her clothes down onto the bed and held her arms out while Xena wrapped a small shirt around her chest. It bearly covered anything at all. Next came a chain wrap that tied around a shoulder. There was a feather choker that came after.
Xena bit her lip as she reached around to tie Gabrielle's loincloth on. It hung down on her hips and came to mid thigh. She handed Gabrielle the leather breaches and stepped back. "There, see its easy." She sat down.
"What are you
wearing?"
Xena smirked. "Its a surprise."
"Do I get to help you dress?" She walked forward till she stood right in front of Xena.
"Too risky, I think." She raised her hands to caress Gabrielle's thighs. As she slid up under the cloth, she heard Gabrielle sigh. She pulled back and stood up. "I'll see you at the party."
"You okay?"
"I'm fine."
Gabrielle nodded as she watched the warrior walk out. She reached up and slid off the chains that were too heavy. The mirror was in front of her and even though she saw herself, she felt different. She sighed and saw something catch her eye. Turning to the bed, she gasped as she saw a pair of sais. She walked forward and picked them up, getting used to the weight in her hands once more. Her eyes closed and she smiled as she turned to the door. "Thank you."

The full moon shone down onto the party. Amazons danced in groups in front of
the throne where Eve sat patiently, Gabrielle at her side.
As the music stopped, the Amazons parted to reveal a figure dressed in a jeweled outfit. She had on a white leather shirt that wrapped around her chest and V'd down towards her belly button. The black skirt she wore clung tightly to her hips and thighs. Her hair was wrapped up in a gold crown and fell down her back in braids. A thick veil hung around her face but the ice blue eyes didn't hide her identity.
As the music picked up with a new beat, she moved her body with it, giving a dance of seduction.
She made her way through the line of Amazons till she stood right in front of the throne. Getting down on her hands and knees, she bowed to the queen.
As she looked up, Gabrielle walked forward and removed the veil.
"Please accept this gift I give my princess." She bowed once more.
Gabrielle turned to see an Amazon walk forward and attach a leash to a metal hook on Xena's collar. Gabrielle hadn't noticed it before. "What?" She couldn't form anything else.
"I am offering myself to you, will you accept?"
Gabrielle's jaw dropped. "What?" She couldn't think anymore.
Xena stood and handed Gabrielle the leash. "I am still your champion."
"Yes....an.." She was having trouble breathing.
"Gabrielle,....." She pulled two gold rings out. "....will you join with me?"
Gabrielle closed her eyes, the tears spilling over. "Yes." She threw herself at Xena and held on. "I will."
They both cried.
Eve stood up. "It is decided." She looked down at the pair. "Xena and Gabrielle will be joined at the next full moon."
Xena slipped the ring onto Gabrielle's finger and kissed her hand.
Eve walked forward. "Let us bless this union."
A cheer erupted.
Gabrielle placed a hand over her mouth and ran off of the stage.
Xena looked around her, confusion evident on her face. She turned to Eve. "Did...."
Eve shook her head and shrugged. "Go to her."
Xena nodded and ran after Gabrielle, who was leaned up against a hut. "You okay?" She walked closer to see tears running down that sweet face."
"I'm fine."
"You know what fine means don't you?"
Gabrielle looked up.
"Fucked up, Insecure, Neurotically Emotional." She gave a small smile.
"Where did you hear that?"
Xena shrugged. "Hard to tell." She ran a finger down an arm to brush away a fly. "What's wrong? Did I do...."
Gabrielle held up a hand, shaking her head. "No, you're okay, I mean, you've done everything right, I've...."
Xena reached forward and silenced her with two fingers on her lips. "Shh." She let go and smiled. "Let's go back to the party." She wiped off Gabrielle's tears.
Gabrielle stepped back and took a look around her and at the party behind Xena. She took a deep breath and nodded. "Okay."
Xena bent, looking into Gabrielle's eyes. "You okay?"
"I'm fine." She chuckled.
Xena reached around to slid an arm around Gabrielle's waist as they walked back towards the party. Eve stopped them halfway, worried expression on her face.
"Care to explain that? You have me worried here." She turned to her mother. "Well?"
"We're okay."
"Yeah....I'm not buying it but for right now, I have other things to do. Like celebrate your joining." She raised her arms high in the air and took off towards the party with a loud 'Whoop.'
Gabrielle leaned towards Xena. "She's yours."
Xena nodded then turned serious as she looked at Gabrielle. Wiping tears away from the blonde's eyes, she felt a fresh batch coat her own. "We've been through a lot you and I, haven't we?"
"Too much, but......" She looked down. "...we're still together."
"Forever."
"Forever."
Their hands linked as they walked on.

The first light of morning flowed into the hut. Gabrielle opened her eyes and
turned to look outside, seeing it was barely morning. She glanced down to her
right side to see Xena asleep, dreaming what looked like a good dream. Her eyes
were moving here and there, her lips whispering words no one could hear.
Gabrielle smiled as she turned onto her side to watch the beauty sleep. There was a few times where she could enjoy this. Xena always woke up before her so she never had a chance to watch her sleep.
A sigh escaped Xena's mouth and Gabrielle reached forward to run a finger across the soft lips of the woman in front of her. "I love you."
"Love you back." She slept on, unaware she had spoken.
Gabrielle rolled back over and looked up at the ceiling, wondering how she had gotten so lucky.
Sitting up, she pulled back the covers and stood up, grabbing clothes on her way to the door and dressing.

Xena woke up to an empty bed, which was unusual considering Gabrielle almost
always slept till noon. She sat up, rubbing the sleep out of her eyes. She
reached down and grabbed the bard's pillow, bringing it to her face to take in
the scent. She lowered it back down and laughed to herself. "I've got it
bad." She laughed again, laying back down.
Just then, the door flap opened up and Gabrielle walked in. "I see you finally woke."
"Time?"
"Noon." She smirked.
"Not one word." She looked down at the tray Gabrielle was holding to see an assortment of fruits and veggies. "Breakfast? In bed? For me?" She smiled.
"I thought hey, one of these days she'll do something to deserve this. And besides, you might also return the favor."
"Anytime." She tossed a pillow at her. "Duck."
"Very funny grouch."
"Grouch?" She crawled forward on the bed towards Gabrielle. "A grouch am I?" She waited till Gabrielle set down the tray before pulling her down onto the bed and covering her body with her own. "What now, love?"
Gabrielle reached up and pulled Xena's head down for a small kiss. "Like I would want to move." She laid her arms behind her head and smiled.
"Oh? Then perhaps I should capture you more often."
"You can tie me up anytime you want."
Xena closed her eyes. "Tempting. Very tempting."
"I know." She raised her legs on each side of Xena and groaned when their lower bodies touched.
Xena's eyes were still closed. "Mmm hmm." She lowered her weight down onto Gabrielle and sighed at the feel of it. "What say we take things a little further?"
"How much further?" She felt her top being unlaced and closed her eyes when it was thrown to the floor. Her body hummed in anticipation. She never expected the jolt to run through her body like it did when Xena latched onto a nipple. "Oh gods!" A hand came up to hold onto Xena's head to keep her there.
"No gods, just me." She switched to the other one.
"Xena."
"Hmm."
"If we keep this up it could lead somewhere."
"I know, but I think its too late for me to stop."
Gabrielle closed her eyes at the sound of Xena's silky voice in her ear. "Then don't."
Xena turned to look Gabrielle in the eyes. "You sure?"
"Yes. Never been more sure of anything else."
Xena smiled and gave Gabrielle a kiss full of all the love she had, leaving her speechless. "Okay then my love, I'll make you mine."
"Yes." She closed her eyes.
A knock sounded outside their hut.
"They'll go away." Xena turned her attention to Gabrielle's neck.
Another knock.
"No they won't, Xena."
"Yes they will, promise."
Another knock.
Both women groaned as Xena stood up, throwing Gabrielle her shirt. "Better put this on, you probably have a duty to fulfill."
Xena opened the door. "What?"
The poor Amazon's eyes widened as she took in the six foot tall warrior with a deadly glare. "I....I.... Eve..she...um....wellll....."
"What?"
"Eve wants to see you two now."
"Fine." She walked back in leaving the woman standing. She sat down on the bed, watching Gabrielle lace up her shirt. "You know that was another close one."
Gabrielle turned to her. "You're kidding right. Don't tell me that this was a mistake."
"I wasn't I just......."
"I know what you were going to say." She stood up, facing Xena. "I'm ready. I want to love you completely. I want to have you, mind, body, and soul."
"You already own my heart."
"Do I?"
"Always have."
Gabrielle sat down on Xena's lap. "Love you."
"Love you too." She laid her head down on Gabrielle's chest. "I promise.......soon."

Gabrielle jumped when a hand was laid at her shoulder. "I told you never to
do that."
"Sorry." Xena stepped back. "You looked lost there for a minute."
"No, just thinking."
"About?"
"Nothing in particular, except that you smell so good." She turned and buried her nose in Xena's cleavage.
"Good to know."
Gabrielle pulled back. "When do I get to call you wife?"
Xena bent down. "Soon enough to know that you'll get tired of me."
"Never." She sat down. "I never could get tired of you. You keep us entertained."
Xena raised an eyebrow. "Entertained?"
"Yeah." She smiled and licked her bottom lip. "I bet you could really entertain......me." She wrapped her legs around Xena.
"Watch what you start, bard."
"Oh, I'm not starting anything." She stood up. "But I will finish it." And with that she turned to walk away, smile on her face.
Xena shook her head. "I'll never understand you." She heard the light chuckled response.

Gabrielle opened her eyes and looked around the dark hut. She could hear the
rain hitting against the roof. Movement by the window, caught her eye and she
sat up to see a figure standing there. "Xena?"
"Who else would it be?" She turned and smiled.
"Couldn't sleep?" She stood to stand besides the warrior. She heard a sigh. "What is it?"
"I was thinking about visiting my mother." Her head lowered. "The news of our deaths....well she probably has heard." She turned to Gabrielle and smiled. "Perhaps we should set her mind and heart at rest."
"Good idea. Tomorrow?"
"Yes."
Gabrielle moved in front of Xena and was pulled into her arms. Sighing to herself she closed her eyes. "Don't ever leave me again."
"I don't plan on it."
"Things change." She raised her head.
"I know." She laid her chin down on Gabrielle's head and sighed. "I know."
