The gentle sound of a thousand hoof beets was almost enough to lure the
conqueror to sleep. Almost. She turned her head left to right watching over her
moving army. A slow feral grin spread across her lips at the thought of the easy
conquest ahead of them.
"Lord Conqueror."
She glanced behind her to see her general, Brackus. "What now?"
"We have assembled the party."
"Excellent, send them out."
He nodded once and was off. She raised a hand, one finger extended. The troops behind instantly stopped all chatter and waited. The thumb lowered and they stopped marching, the rest of the men stopped in a chain.
She half turned in her seat. "Set up camp. Tomorrow we take what belongs to us." And with that she veered off the trail and watched as they prepared to make camp.
Her eyes took in the smoke off of the chimneys from the next village. She bounced the pouch at her side and headed towards it.
-XXXX-
The woman heard the warrior approach the bar and looked up. "What'll it
be?"
"Port..." Xena took a minute to look around. "....and food."
"We are serving stew. Would you like dessert?"
"No, just bring me some stew." She grabbed her mug and walked to a corner table, hidden by a light shadow.
A small red head walked out of the kitchen, bowl in her hand. She eyed the room, looking for the stranger, spotting her near the back.
Xena looked up as a bowl was set down.
"Anything else I can get for you?"
"No." She watched her walk away, before turning to her food. Years of instinct took over as she lowered her head, smelling the stew for any trace of poison. Not detecting any, she took a small spoonful, tasting it cautiously.
"We didn't poison you."
Xena looked up to see the red head again. She was holding a pitcher and a glass.
"Water warrior?"
"No." She took another bite and closed her eyes.
"You approve?"
Xena looked up.
"Not one for chit chat are you?"
"What do you want?"
"Just to see if you needed anything." She leaned closer. "Making polite conversation."
"Well don't." She turned back to her food, hearing the woman walk away.

General Brackus looked up to see the conqueror riding into camp. His expression
showed his confusion without him saying a word.
"I needed an edible meal general." She jumped down and walked past him.
He shook his head and followed. "You should at least tell me when you are leaving."
She turned and had a grip around his throat faster then he could blink. "If you have a problem, then spit it out. I am still in command of this army and I don't have to answer to you!" She let go, dropping him to the ground, and walked off.
He stood up, brushing off dirt from his pants. Running a hand through his hair, he took off in the direction of the conqueror.
Xena entered her tent just before she heard Brackus behind her. Spinning around, she glared at him. "Did I say to follow me?"
"No, but I...."
She moved closer. "I order, you obey. I didn't tell you to follow me. So, get out."
He turned and left.
She threw down her sword sheath on the bed and started unbuckling her armor. "Idiot."

The morning gave Xena a better mood. Waking at dawn, she was pleased to see more
than a half of her soldiers already in full armor, awaiting her commands.
"Morning lord Conqueror." Brackus stood beside her.
"Am I to believe that we aren't ready to go."
"I'm..."
She cut him off. "Don't apologize, just get it done." She walked off.
Brackus rolled his eyes and walked away to wake the other soldiers.
Alana walked out of the food tent, tray in hand. A figure came from behind her and swiped a muffin. "Xena, wait your turn." The old woman smiled as the dark woman came around to face her. "You may run this army, but I am still the cook." She set the tray down. Turning back she handed her a bowl of butter.
Xena shook her head. "What's for lunch?"
"Its barely breakfast child."
"No answer huh." She took a bite of the muffin." Mmm, now I know why I keep you around."
The old woman shook her head and walked away.
Brackus approached her. "When do we head out?"
"When I'm ready." She grabbed another muffin, tilting around to watch the food hut for Alana. She turned to look at him. "Shoo." She smiled as she walked off.
-XXXXX-
Brackus watched as she sat atop her tan mare. He didn't like her but stayed
loyal for now.
"Stop staring at me before I cut your eyes out."
He smiled to himself, as he turned away. "I didn't know how you do it."
"Call it one of my many skills."
She turned her head, sliced her hand through the air and gave her famous war cry as they rode fast into the village.
Even though they had been warned, the villagers scrambled around, trying to dodge the soldiers.
Xena stopped above the hill to watch her soldiers in action. She sensed it before she heard a sound. Quickly catching an arrow in first her left than her right hand, she threw them down to catch a third.
There was a searing pain at her side and looking down, she could see the butt of an arrow sticking out of her side.
She grabbed her chakrum and sent it flying. She didn't hear it bounce off of a few trees, but heard it track down the hidden figure in the bushes at the base of the hill. He fell, bow still in hand. She heard it slice its way into a tree trunk at her side and turned her attention to the arrow.
She clenched her jaw as she broke off the shaft. A pass over her back with her fingers found it had gone all the way through. She closed her eyes and pushed it through. Raising it up to her face, she was relieved to find no trace of a poison. Throwing it down, she grabbed for a strip of cloth and jumped down from Argo.
Feeling dizzy for a minute, she steadied herself by leaning against the beast. Opening them again, she felt her legs weaken and climbed back up onto the horse. She leaned down and whispered softly.
-XXXXX-
A blinding pain rushed to her head the moment she raised her head. She took in
her surroundings. As far as she could tell, she was at someone's home. It was
too clean to be an inn.
Raising up only caused her side to hurt. She lowered her head to see the wound had been bandaged. She laid back down.
"I see you've waken up."
Xena turned toward the source of the voice to see the red head.
"Water?" She sat down on the bed, holding a cup of water.
Xena nodded and took a drink. "How long have I been here?"
"I found you last night. You took an arrow in the side. We had to give you some antidote for the poison."
"I smelled it the arrow. There wasn't any poison."
The woman smiled. "Not all poison is detected by scent."
Xena smiled. This woman was smart. She swung her legs out over the edge.
"Wait! You're in no condition to leave."
"I'm in no mood for this." She stood, shaky at first, but soon was standing in front of the woman. "Where am I?"
"At my home."
"Where are my weapons?"
"You don't need your weapons here."
"Where are they?"
The woman walked out of the room, returning with a sword and sheath along with a few daggers.
Xena had already dressed in her leathers and was buckling her armor. She strapped her sword on and slipped a dagger into her boot.
The woman held out the other dagger. "Where does this one go?"
Xena reached for it and tucked it down into her cleavage.
"Oh." She saw Xena start to walk out. "Wait."
"Why?"
"You haven't eaten yet."
"I'm not hungry."
The woman watched the warrior walk out.
-XXXXX-
Brackus paced back and forth across the conqueror's tent. He unsheathed his
blade, hearing a sound and turned seeing Xena. "My lord. Where have you
been?"
"Long story." She brushed past him and sat down. "Why are you in my tent?"
"I kept trying to find you."
"Was the village conquered?"
"Yes, we have a new line of slaves up at the slave block."
"And?"
"And more on the way."
She arched a brow.
"We ventured off towards a small town to the north."
Excellent. Now, leave me."
"When do you want me to bring the new slaves?"
"Excuse me."
"You are without a slave right. Surely you must want one and I thought you would want to pick one out."
"Of course." She looked up. "Go."
-XXXXX-
The newly lit candles lit up the whole room.
A noise outside drew her attention. "Come."
Brackus walked in, a line of slaves behind him. One in particular caught her eye. She stood and walked to Brackus. "Where did you get this one?" She pointed to the small red head, large bruise covering one cheek.
"I guess she was in the wrong place at the right time."
"Wipe that smile off your face. I'll deal with you later. Take the others away. This one is mine." She watched him leave. She turned back to the woman. "I remember you from the village."
The girl turned her head.
Xena knelt down, running a finger down the girl's cheek. "I ask now, what is your name?"
"Gabrielle."
"Gabrielle." She rolled the name around on her tongue. "Gabrielle. I like it."
"Why am I here?"
"Like my general said, bad timing." She reached out to finger the bruise again. "Who did this?"
No answer.
"Who?"
Gabrielle looked down, but her face was pulled back.
"Who?"
"I don't know."
"Yes you do, slave, tell me."
"I can't."
"Why? Are you afraid?"
"Yes."
Xena stood. "At this moment slave, I'm your master."
"No, I belong to no one."
"Well you belong to me."
"You're the conqueror aren't you."
"Good guess." She knelt down, noticing Gabrielle's bright green eyes.
"I saved your life."
"A minor detail."
Gabrielle turned away.
Xena stood again. "Get up."
Gabrielle stood and glared at the woman in front of her, receiving a hard blow to the face that knocked her down. She yelped as she was pulled back up by her hair.
Yanking her head back so she could look her in the face, she leaned closer. "You are my slave, get used to it." She ran a thumb over the soft pouty lips before letting go, watching Gabrielle step back. "Tell me who hit you."
Silence.
She reached forward and grabbed the girl forward. "Just because you are injured doesn't mean that I won't make it worse. So talk now."
"I don't know his name."
"What did he look like?"
"I don't know." She was slapped across the face. "He....light red hair...beard...that's all I remember." She was let go.
Xena walked forward. "Did he...." She looked down.
Gabrielle shook her head and lowered it when the dark woman circled her.
Xena walked to the tent flap. "Lucas."
A small boy came running up.
"Tell Alana to come get the slave."
He ran off.
Xena turned back to Gabrielle. "You will learn where you rank here and you had better do it quick. I have plenty of time, but not a lot of patience."
Alana walked in, eyeing the two women first. Her head tilted as she smiled. "Come child." She grabbed Gabrielle and turned to the conqueror. "Be careful with this one." She whispered.
Xena eyed them as they left.
-XXXXX-
Alana led Gabrielle to the bathing hut. There were a few men leaving. They made
no move to speak to either woman.
"Don't worry too much about the conqueror. She's had a hard life."
Gabrielle was silent as she removed her clothing.
"You are allowed to speak to me. I'm just a slave like yourself. What is your name?"
"Gabrielle."
"How did they get you?"
Gabrielle looked down. "I was walking in the forest when they found me."
"And?" She sat down. "Tell me."
"I ran as fast as I could but I was grabbed from behind and thrown to the ground. A man came forward and....I don't know. I guess I was hit because the next thing I know is when I woke up on the cart with the other women."
"Just do as the conqueror says and nothing should happen to you. Stay on her good side and she'll protect you. You're her slave, the other men won't touch you unless they are suicidal."
"Is she always angry?"
"At times."
"And others?"
"She can act like a child."
Gabrielle looked confused.
The old woman patted her hand. "You get cleaned up and I'll be back." She walked towards the door.
"I'm the one who saved her when she was hit with the arrow."
Alana turned. "I know." She nodded and walked out.
Gabrielle lowered her head and heard the tent flap open. She looked up expecting the woman again and was surprised to see Xena. She grabbed a towel and held it up in front of herself.
Xena walked forward, yanking it down. Her eyes lowered to Gabrielle's body. "How old are you?"
"Twenty."
"You're not a slave." It wasn't a question but a statement. "You'll be my slave. Your duties are to get me anything I want. Do that and you'll be fine."
Gabrielle nodded.
Xena bent down, picking the towel up, and handed it back to her. "Get cleaned up." She turned and walked out.
-XXXXX-
"Up slave."
Gabrielle opened her eyes to see a man standing over her. She was instantly awake.
"The conqueror wants a bath."
Gabrielle rubbed her eyes and sat up. 'The first day of the rest of my life.' She reached for her clothes, but they weren't there. She was hit in the face with a bunch of clothing.
"You'll wear this." He left.
She straightened it out to see that it was a soft gray shift. Slipping it on, she stood. The tent flap opened and she felt someone walk up behind her.
"Weren't you told to hurry."
She closed her eyes. "Yes." She turned.
Xena walked closer. "Then move. I hate to wait." She turned and walked out.
Gabrielle entered Xena's tent to see that she was already in the tub. She couldn't held running her eyes over the long figure of the dark woman in front of her.
"Gonna come closer or stand there?" She twisted around to look at the young woman. "Something wrong?"
She shook her head.
"Good, then get over here." She turned.
Gabrielle kneeled and grabbed a sponge, dipping it under the water. She ran it in between Xena's shoulder blades, seeing her head tilt back. She ran it down her spine and saw the head tilt back further. Sliding it up towards her shoulders, she ran it around the back of her neck and squeezed the water out, watching it run down her skin.
"Mmm." Her eyes closed.
Gabrielle ran it down an arm and over a shoulder. "What do I call you?"
"Mistress."
"Can I ask you something?"
"Yes."
"What kind of slaves are there and what am I?"
"Of mine?"
"Yes."
"There are four. A cook, a servant, a messenger, and a body slave." She arched as Gabrielle hit a sensitive spot on the middle of her back.
"Body slave."
"Yep." She turned. "Someone who can please my needs after a battle or other wise."
"Oh."
"Is that all or are there more questions? I want you to get them all out."
"What kind of slave am I?"
"So you are agreeing to this."
"Do I have a choice?"
"Good point."
"Plus there are worse jobs."
"Mmm hmm. You are my servant. You bring me my food, give me my bath, and more."
"Do..."
"First priority is to make sure I'm clean." She leaned back.
Gabrielle continued to wash her back then stopped.
"What?"
"Where you want me to wash you?"
"Everywhere."
There was a pause.
Xena turned. "I'm losing my patience with you. Either you do it or I'll find you another job."
"Sorry." She waited till Xena turned around and continued to wash. As she reached forward, her hand slipped and she swiped at a nipple. Her eyes told her how it affected Xena.
"Watch it slave. That's not your department."
"Sorry." She ran the sponge down a breast and around her stomach. She leaned forward, her mouth so close to an ear.
Xena felt the rise in Gabrielle's breath as it passed across her ear. She smiled as she leaned back, feeling the soft body behind her. The increase in Gabrielle's breathing was heard as she finished up washing Xena's front.
Gabrielle leaned away and held the sponge in her hand.
Xena turned around. "Problem?"
Gabrielle shook her head.
"Good, then continue." She slid back against the other side and raised her leg out of the water. "Continue slave."
Gabrielle reached forward, rubbing the sponge against the tan leg in front of her.
Xena smiled as she sat back and watched the effect she had on her new slave. As she brought her other one out, she saw Gabrielle jump. "If you can't do this, then I'll find someone who can."
"I can."
"Then control yourself." Inside she loved it. Anytime a beautiful woman reacted to her body she loved it. Even the bruise along her cheek didn't hide her beauty. Truth was this woman was gorgeous, but Xena knew she couldn't trust it. Not the woman but herself.
She pulled her leg back and slid up. "Go get my towel."
Gabrielle reached over, grabbing the soft white towel and held it up. She saw the conqueror shake her head and stepped forward, right in front of the tub.
Xena stood up, water droplets running down her body as well as soap bubbles. She saw Gabrielle's eyes lower and smirked as she walked into the towel. As Gabrielle slowly dried off her body, she knew she would have to call for Lily tonight.
Gabrielle stepped back as Xena grabbed a robe, slipping it on her naked body. "Anything else?"
"No, I'll call for you when I need you."
Gabrielle nodded as she turned and left.
Xena looked around her room and spotted a corner where she didn't have that much stuff. A plan formed in her hand as she stuck her head out the flap, yelling for Alana.
-XXXXX-
Gabrielle ran to the slave tent, throwing herself on her bed. She closed her
eyes and tried to get her breathing back. "What was wrong with me?"
She shook her head and heard someone enter. She sat up and turned to the flap.
Who's there?"
Alana walked forward. "Just me child."
"What do I need to do?"
"Nothing."
"Then...."
"I just wanted to ask if you were hungry."
Gabrielle nodded.
"So how did your first job go?"
"Great."
"Obviously. The conqueror insists that you move in right away. She wants to make sure you are there when she needs you."
"That's great right."
Silence.
"Right?"
"No."
"Why?"
"I think you had an effect on her tonight."
"Why?"
"She ordered for Lily."
"Who?"
"Her body slave. Wanted her right after her bath."
"Uh oh."
"Yeah uh oh. What did you do?"
"I just washed her."
"I see." She stood up. "Come, lets go get something to eat."
Gabrielle followed her out and as they passed the conqueror's tent, they heard a wild scream. Not of fright, but of utter passion. She felt a blush work its way up her neck and cheeks as she continued on.
She reached the tent to see Alana already seated. She took a seat next to her. "When do I move in?"
"Tonight. You'll sleep there tonight. There is a fine silk curtain separating you from her. Be careful."
Gabrielle nodded, looking at the table.
"Can I ask a question?"
"Go ahead."
"Have you ever been with anyone?"
"No."
Alana nodded. "That explains it. She can smell it a mile away. Its the purity that she wants to conquer. Take care of yourself and watch your back."
"I will." She smiled as the woman ruffled her hair as she walked out. She heard her leave and someone else enter. She tried to listen but they were quiet. She could feel them just the same and was about to turn around, when she felt hot breath on her neck. She knew who it was.
"You are to report to me when you bed down tonight. I have made a spot for you. I want to keep you close." She bent down, running her lips along the soft skin at the base of her neck.
Gabrielle shivered but nodded. "Yes mistress." She heard a chuckle.
"I love that name but it sounds so different when you say it." She straightened up. "Don't forget." And then she was gone.
Gabrielle closed her eyes and let out a breath. "What am I going to do?"
-XXXXX-
The night came quicker than she expected. As the full moon rose over ahead, she
made her way towards the conqueror's tent. As she walked in, she heard laughing.
Turning her head, she saw two people rolling around on the bed. She slowly crept
around, looking for where she would bed down. Spotting a place were there were
covers on the floor, off to the corner, she made her way towards it.
She saw a silk curtain like Alana had said. She laid down on the blankets and turned away from the sounds.
A high pitch cry made her turn her head and what she saw made her jaw drop.
There was a woman lying under Xena and she had her legs wrapped around her as the conqueror thrust into her with the strap-on phallus.
The cries were making her insane. She wanted to shout at them to shut up, but she couldn't. She found that she couldn't turn away either.
As the woman reached her climax, Xena turned to Gabrielle and made eye contact as she too went over. Her eyes closed and she collapsed on top of the woman.
Gabrielle rolled over and closed her eyes. She heard movement and knew that the woman was getting dressed. When she heard the tent flap close, she turned her head to see the conqueror standing on the other side of the curtain. She jumped.
"You like to watch?"
She rolled over, hearing Xena walk around to the end of her bed.
"Answer me."
Gabrielle opened her eyes. "I've never seen that before. I never knew two women could...." She stopped.
"Well they can." She walked closer. "Get used to it, because you'll see it a lot."
Gabrielle stared up at her, not sure what to do or say.
"Unless you want to join in. I have a feeling you'd like to have me." She smiled. "Hmm."
Gabrielle rolled over.
"Oh no, you don't get away that easily." She pulled her over.
"What do you want from me?"
"Don't ask."
Gabrielle felt the blanket ripped from her body.
"You don't want to know what I want to do to you." She eyed the blonde's body hungrily. "Then again you might enjoy it." She crawled onto Gabrielle, spreading her legs as her body fit between. "Slave."
Gabrielle turned her head.
"No, you look at me." She yanked her face back. "Do you like what you saw tonight?"
Silence.
"Well?"
"Yes." It was no more then a whisper.
"I bet your juices are flowing aren't they. You're all hot and ready for me to take you." She leaned down. "But I won't." Her lips moved against Gabrielle's as she spoke. "You are my servant, not my body slave. Although you are incredibly attractive." She ran a hand up Gabrielle's side, coming close to a breast. "Tell me slave."
Silence.
"Tell me what I do to you." She ground her hips against Gabrielle's slightly.
Gabrielle closed her eyes. "I've never..." She stopped.
"Never what?"
Her eyes opened up again and Xena was pleased to see find that they were dark green.
"Never what, slave?"
"Never felt this....this...hunger." Her eyes closed again.
"Of course not. You've never met me. I can bet you'll never feel anything as good as me. Too bad you won't get to." She ran her tongue along Gabrielle's lower lip, hearing a whimper. She groaned. "Do it again." She ground her hips against Gabrielle's and heard the soft whimper again. "So good." She raised up and walked around the curtain, stopping to slip off her robe, then climbed into bed.
Gabrielle couldn't stop the fire from spreading through her body. She turned her head and saw Xena turned over, her back to her. Gabrielle's hand raised to her breast as she squeezed and molded it, a soft sigh exiting her lips. Her hand trailed along her stomach and slipped under her breeches where she gasped when a flood of wetness met her fingers. She stroked herself and it didn't take long till she felt something explode. She turned her head to look towards the conqueror and saw her looking right at her. Her eyes closed as her hips raised up high.
Xena smiled as she rolled back over to get some sleep.
-XXXXX-
Alana met Gabrielle half way as she walked to the food tent. "Everything
okay?"
"Everything's fine. Why?"
"I was just worried about you. Her reputation isn't a lie."
"I know. She didn't bother me. I went in and went to bed." She didn't meet the woman's eye.
"What happened?"
"Nothing."
"I've been reading people all my life."
"She....well I got there and she was with some woman. I walked as quiet as I could to my bed and tried to go to sleep. I couldn't with the noises. I heard the other woman cry out and I got curious. I turned to look and saw the conqueror looking at me as she...." She stopped.
"What?"
"I don't know what you call it?"
"Climax?"
Silence.
"What happened next?"
"She knew I was watching. She waited till the woman was gone and came to me." She turned to Alana. "She is something else."
"Did she hurt you?"
"No, she didn't touch me. She made me crazy because she didn't."
"You wanted her to?"
"Yes." She hid her eyes.
"Nothing to be ashamed about. The conqueror is a very passionate person. She's beautiful and strong. You have nothing to be ashamed about. You did nothing wrong."
Gabrielle nodded and hurried along.
Alana turned towards the conqueror's tent and smiled.
-XXXXX-
Xena walked through the tent, her eyes searching for the redhead. Spotting her
walking towards the forest, she smiled and hurried along.
Gabrielle turned to the camp, feeling eyes on her. Seeing no one, she turned and continued on. She reached the small pond and looked around before taking her clothes off. She dipped her toe in and waded in. Sinking down to her shoulders she closed her eyes and sighed. The water was so cool and it felt so good against her skin. She opened her eyes when she felt someone watching her.
There on the edge of the water stood the conqueror.
Gabrielle was silent.
"I think I'll love having you in my tent, slave." She waited for the girl to speak and when she didn't she continued. "You have no idea how much I love that little display last night. You liked my touch don't you?"
"Yes. I won't lie to you."
"Shame I can't have you. I like my body slave, but I love playing with you. Perhaps you'll let me watch again tonight."
Gabrielle turned away.
"A no then. Shame." She stripped and dove in.
Gabrielle turned this way and that, looking for the woman. She jumped when she popped up right in front of her. "What do you want?"
"I'll ask the questions around here." She moved closer but Gabrielle moved back. She shook her head as she reached out and grabbed the girl's arm. "Come." She pulled her against her body. "You feel good. I know you're a virgin Gabrielle. Don't ask how. I can spot them a mile away."
Gabrielle tired to pull away.
"No no. You listen to me. I am your master. I can do whatever I want and what I want is to play." She ran a tongue over her lower lip as she had the night before.
"Why are you doing this? You want me take me."
"You'd like that wouldn't you." She let go and moved back. "I like to play with my food before I eat it."
The look in the dark woman's eyes made Gabrielle shiver.
Xena moved closer. "Come here." She didn't wait, but pulled her closer. "I bet you taste so sweet. I'll wager on it even. Tonight we'll have some fun. I have a quick fuck anytime I want it, but I rarely see something I want real bad like you."
Gabrielle lowered her eyes to Xena's lips.
"Mmm want some of this huh." She grabbed the back of Gabrielle's head and pulled her to her, crushing her lips in a passionate kiss. She pulled back and smiled. "Better?"
Gabrielle's eyes were still closed. "Gods."
Xena turned and waded out of the pool. "Its lunch time. Hurry up." She dressed and headed towards camp.
Gabrielle opened her eyes and slowly headed towards her clothes. Slipping them over her head she pulled on her breeches and turned quickly enough to see Xena standing in the shadows.
She walked out. "You are gorgeous." She circled around her. "I'll have fun taking you when I'm ready. I don't know if you'll be able to handle it but I will." She turned and left.
Gabrielle walked forward, almost tripping on a raised branch.
-XXXXX-
Gabrielle sat across from Alana as the soldiers ate. She pushed her food around
her plate but wasn't hungry. She couldn't think right now. A blonde walked past
her and Gabrielle turned her head.
The blonde grabbed a plate and turned, walking towards Gabrielle. She smiled as she sat down next to her. "You're Gabrielle aren't you?"
"Yeah."
She smiled more. "Thought so." She moved closer. "I just hope you don't expect to be let into her bed."
"And why is that?"
"Because I know what she likes."
Something in Gabrielle snapped. She raised her arm to stretch and swung her elbow backwards, connecting with Lily's face.
"Ow." She held her nose and rose.
"What happened?" a voice full of amusement asked.
"She elbowed me in the nose."
Xena pulled the hands away to see a bloody face, and smiled. "Alana, go take care of this." She turned to Gabrielle. "What was that about?"
"I was just stretching."
Xena arched an eyebrow. "You know I'm going to have to punish you."
"But I...."
"No excuses." She grabbed Gabrielle's elbow and dragged her out of the tent and into hers. She pushed her onto the couch.
Gabrielle looked away.
Xena pulled her face back. "Now."
Gabrielle looked her right in the eye. "I honestly don't know why I did it." She closed her eyes. "But I'd do it again."
"I already told you."
"I know, I know." She stood. "Lily is your body slave but I don't like her."
Xena chuckled. "Is that because your jealous or is there another reason."
"I'm not jealous."
"Yes you are. You'd kill to take her place with me."
Gabrielle lowered her head and grabbed for her throat as hands wrapped around it.
"I do not want to have this conversation again. She's my slave and will continue to be so. Got it?"
Gabrielle nodded and gasped for breath when Xena let go.
"I won't have this discussion again, right?"
"Right."
"Good slave." She ran a lone finger along Gabrielle's cheek, down to her jaw. "Now go tell them I need some water...." She turned to walk away. "....for a bath." She smiled as she saw Gabrielle wince.
-XXXXX-
Gabrielle stood outside till the screams died down. When it was quiet, she
entered and looked around. She could see two figures on the bed. As she walked
past it, she saw someone move.
"Slave."
Silence.
"Come here."
Gabrielle sighed and backed up, standing at the foot of the bed.
"Come here."
She climbed on and waited.
"See this." She pulled back the covers to show a very satisfied Lily. "You'll never get this." She laughed cruelly.
Gabrielle backed off of the bed and ran to hers. She felt a tear slid down her cheek and angrily wiped it away, not sure why it was there in the first place.
-XXXXX-
Gabrielle watched the warrior walk across the camp. She held a sword in one hand
and a bow in the other. Gabrielle smiled as she stood and ran out of camp.
Xena watched her leave and set down the bow as she pulled a dagger from her boot. She flipped it in the air, catching it, then sent it flying. A smile broke her face as it embedded its way into a tree trunk. She noticed Gabrielle come into camp and laid down her sword, as she followed her.
Gabrielle clutched the package to her and ran towards her tent. She got an inch in when Xena came up behind her.
"Where did you go?"
"I had something to do. Not like you seem to care anymore." Her head snapped sideways by the blow of the slap across her face.
"Don't ever talk to me that way. I may give you a bit of freedom, but I am still your master." She turned and walked out.
Gabrielle ran a hand over her stinging cheek and removed the package from her cloak.. She unwrapped it, smiling as she saw her reflection in the silver metal. She ran a finger over the designs and turned to the flap.
-XXXXX-
Gabrielle spotted Lily and immediately turned the other way. It was too late.
She felt a hand on her shoulder and turned, letting out a sigh of relief when
she saw Alana instead. "Boy am I glad to see you."
"Why?"
She pointed behind Alana.
"Oh Lily."
"Yeah."
"You two rivals now?"
"No. Rivals are equals. I don't stand a chance."
"Oh, I don't know about that." She smiled and walked away.
Gabrielle shook her head and took a seat near a tent. She laid her head on her hands, and seeing a shadow fall across the ground, she looked up. "Mistress."
"Very good."
"You want me to...." A finger silenced her.
"Shh." She ran a finger along Gabrielle's lower lip. "So soft. Follow me."
Gabrielle stood and did so.
They came to Xena's tent.
Xena walked in and took a seat at the foot of her bed. She pointed to the floor in front of her. "Sit."
Gabrielle looked at her confused.
"Oh yeah, strip first."
Again the look.
"NOW!"
Gabrielle slid the shift off her shoulders, letting it pool at her feet. She stepped out of it and kicked it aside, her breeches soon following.
"Now lay down, facing me with your back on those pillows." She waited and when Gabrielle laid out before her, she was so tempted. "Spread your legs." She smiled at the view set out before her. "Now touch yourself."
As before, her hand lowered to find herself already wet. Her eyes closed as the sensations came rushing forth. Her head tilted back and her eyes closed.
Xena leaned forward. The girl was so hot. She inched closer and waited. She saw Gabrielle's face flush and the movement of her hand increase. When Gabrielle opened her mouth, Xena yanked her hand away.
Gabrielle opened her eyes. Her need was great.
"Not until I say so."
Gabrielle tugged on her arm but it wasn't going anywhere. She was dragged backwards and both wrists were tied.
"All you have to do is sit here and watch. I know how much you like to watch." She walked to the flap and let Lily in.
"My lord, we should tie her on the bed so she can get a good view."
"Good idea." She threw some pillows off the bed and picked Gabrielle up, tying her to the bed post. "Now." She grabbed the now naked Lily and rolled her onto her back as she captured her mouth. Her hand gripped a breast, thumb rolling over the nipple.
Gabrielle closed her eyes to shut out the scene before her. "Mistress."
Xena looked up. "Problem?"
"Let my hands go."
"No."
"Then finish this." She winced as she received a hard slap to her thigh.
Xena took a breast in her mouth and bit onto the nipple gently, hearing Lily gasp.
Gabrielle spread her legs, seeing Xena close her eyes. She knew the woman could smell her. In fact, she relished the idea.
Xena tried to focus on Lily but Gabrielle was too close and she smelled so good. She need to taste her. Turning her head, she slowly ran her tongue along Gabrielle's folds, holding back a moan as she got her taste.
Gabrielle closed her eyes. The feeling was incredible.
Then suddenly it was gone. She opened her eyes to see Xena's head in between Lily's thighs. As if making it worse, Xena looked up and smiled. She was going to burst if she didn't get release soon and Xena knew that.
She heard Lily climax and saw Xena being rolled .
"Wait." Xena pushed her off and whispered in her ear. She turned so she was facing Gabrielle, her legs spread wide.
Lily ran her tongue over Xena's sex.
Gabrielle couldn't take her eyes off it. When Lily thrust her tongue into Xena, she closed her eyes. She felt her leg being grabbed and opened her eyes to see Xena holding on to her calf.
Getting her breathing back, she didn't notice Gabrielle moving closer. She sat up and rose off the bed. "Untie her and get out."
Gabrielle rubbed her wrists and closed her legs, letting out a moan.
"Off."
"But I..."
"Off!"
Gabrielle clenched her teeth together as she stood up and walked to her bed. .
Xena came up behind her and grabbed her wrists, tying them over her head.
Gabrielle growled in frustration. "No." She raised her hips. "Mistress please. You know you want me. Look at you. You were dying for a taste tonight." She didn't know what else to do.
"No, I think its you who want me." She straddled Gabrielle's waist.
"Then take me."
"No, you want that too much."
"Yes I do."
"You want me so bad you can taste it." She lowered her hand, coating a finger with her own juices, then coated Gabrielle's lips with it." Taste me."
Gabrielle didn't need to be told twice. She closed her eyes as she got the first taste of her conqueror. "Untie me now."
"A command?"
"A Plea."
Xena leaned down. "You couldn't handle it if I took you. But....." She moved down Gabrielle's body. Spreading her legs, she got another taste.
Gabrielle cried out as she felt Xena's tongue. "Yes." Her back arched up and she felt like she would break in two. "Gods yes."
Xena pulled back, wiping her face. "Slave."
No answer.
Xena checked her pulse. Out cold. She smiled and untied Gabrielle's wrists. "Damn I'm good." She covered the woman up as she reached out to feel along a soft cheek, and shook her head.
Gabrielle mumbled in her sleep and quieted as soon as she felt a hand run over her forehead.
-XXXXX-
Xena distanced herself from Gabrielle. She had to have the woman but her slave
hadn't learned her lesson yet. She hadn't meant to give her release last night
but couldn't help it. The girl tasted so sweet.
"Mistress."
She opened her eyes. "Lily."
"Will you be needing me later?"
"Why?"
"Alana asked me to help with lunch."
"Go help." She watched her walk off.
Gabrielle walked into view, knowing the warrior was there but not looking at her.
Xena stood when she saw Gabrielle holding a package. "What's that?"
"I can't keep anything from you."
"Not in my own camp."
Gabrielle handed it to her watching as she unwrapped it.
"My chakrum."
"I found it."
"Good." She attached it to her hip.
Gabrielle stood for a minute before turning to walk away.
"Wait."
She felt Xena wrap an arm around her and kiss her neck. "I should reward you. Hmm?" She reached forward and grabbed hold of a breast. "Perfect."
"Why do you do this?"
"Do what?"
"Tease me."
"Do I?" She slipped off a strap, kissing its place. "Oh yes I do."
"Why?" She closed her eyes.
"So you'll learn who's the master here."
"Oh. Bet few can resist you."
"Less." Both arms were wrapped around the woman. "I could make you scream out again. I enjoyed that." She ran her tongue up her neck. "You taste so good. I bet you want to touch me so bad. So much its killing you. I might just give you a chance."
"Please."
"Hmm. I couldn't hear you."
"Please let me." She was turned around. When she looked in Xena's eyes, she groaned, they were so dark with passion. "I do believe I'm having an effect on you as well."
Xena let go, smile on her face. "You think so huh?" She turned and walked away. "In that case."
Gabrielle cursed herself. "Why can't I just shut up?"
-XXXXX-
Gabrielle entered Xena's tent to see her in the tub, someone else holding the
sponge. "Did I miss something?"
Xena turned. "I needed someone who wouldn't get distracted."
"I see." She walked forward.
Xena smiled. "Leave us Beck."
The woman dropped the sponge and walked out.
"Can I trust you to behave?"
"Yes."
"Then get over here."
Gabrielle kneeled and grabbed the sponge, running it down Xena's back. She smiled as she dropped the sponge to run her soapy hands over the soft skin of the woman in front of her. She knew she'd be punished but she couldn't stop. She reached forward and grazed a nipple with her palm as she had the first bath. Again she saw Xena react as the nipple hardened. She leaned forward and blew softly onto the wet neck, rewarded with a soft moan. "Let me touch you."
"No."
"Why?"
"You haven't earned it." Xena pulled Gabrielle's hands away.
Gabrielle stood and turned. "I don't get it. I know you want me. Take me." She yelped when she was pulled backwards. She surfaced, soaked to the bone, coughing up some water.
"You need to get one thing straight. I am your master, you're the slave. Lessons need to be learned here."
Gabrielle glared at her.
Xena arched a brow as she slapped the woman hard. "You had better learn fast. I'm running out of patience."
"You just want an excuse to touch me. You don't care whether or not I learn this lesson."
Xena shook her head as she slapped her again. "I know you didn't just talk back to me." She grabbed her, pulling her onto her lap. "You want me fine." She ripped Gabrielle's shift down the front and attached her mouth to a hard nipple.
Gabrielle sucked in breath as she closed her eyes and held onto Xena's head. She gasped when the other nipple was sucked.
Xena held back a moan. This was definitely for herself here. Gathering some control, she pushed the girl away, but she didn't move. Xena reached back to untangle her legs, when she felt lips at her neck. "Stop it and let go." She barely held back a groan when two hands molded her breasts. She was starting to panic and she knew it. "Let go." She pulled the woman's head back by her hair, hard.
"Ah." Gabrielle grabbed at the hands in her hair. "Ow."
Xena unwrapped the legs and pushed Gabrielle away. "Get out."
Gabrielle saw the danger in those blue eyes and stood, stepping out of the water. As she neared the tent flap, an ounce of courage came back. "Who needs to learn what here?"
Xena stood up so fast and almost ran out of the tub as she picked Gabrielle up, throwing her onto the bed. She held her arms over her head and got on all fours. "I'd be careful if I was you because the next time you disobey me, you'll be dead. I don't put up with this in my army and you're no exception. Now get out before I gut you." She saw fear in those green eyes and loved it.
Gabrielle moved when she could and stood. "I'm sorry." She turned to Xena. "I don't know what I w...." She lowered her head. "I'm sorry."
"Get out. When you can follow orders come back."
Gabrielle nodded, closing her torn shift best she could and walked out.
Xena laid on the bed and groaned. "I'm in trouble here." She stood up and walked to the flap, almost running into Gabrielle. "What?"
"My shoes."
"Alana!" She watched her slave move into the tent.
"Yes?" Alana asked running up.
"Get me Lily."
"Lily is hunting with the party. You agreed to it."
Xena groaned and nodded, closing the flap. Her eyes found Gabrielle's rear as she turned. "Slave."
Gabrielle stood and turned.
"Come here."
Gabrielle walked to her.
Xena fought with herself. She needed release and she wanted this woman. But Gabrielle hadn't learned her lesson yet. She growled as she closed her eyes. "Nothing, get out." She watched her walk out and groaned.
-XXXXX-
The hunting party cheered as they brought back they're catch. Three deer, and
two pigs."
Lily laid down her bow and screamed when she was grabbed from behind. She felt a hand over her mouth and warm breath at her neck. A familiar scent of leather and cinnamon rose to her nose. The hand was removed. "My lord."
"I need you now." She let go of the woman.
Lily smiled and turned to follow Xena. Her eyes found Gabrielle and she smiled, giving her the smuggest look she could before she was pulled into the tent.
Gabrielle sat down against a tree and closed her eyes. A shadow loomed over her and she opened her eyes. "Alana." She smiled as the woman sat down next to her.
"You love her don't you?"
Gabrielle turned her head fast. "What?"
"No need to tell me, I know the answer."
Gabrielle sighed. "Yes I do."
"You're effecting her too."
"I want more than physical."
"I can say its much more than that."
"How do you know?"
"I know the conqueror and she hasn't been herself since you came along."
Gabrielle bit her lip. "But I can't have her."
"You never know."
"I do. She doesn't let me close, let me in."
"She's never let anyone in since Caesar."
Gabrielle turned to her. "What happened?"
"She just let him see her real self and he betrayed her. Tied her to a cross and broke her legs."
Gabrielle gasped and covered her mouth with her hand. "No wonder she doesn't want anyone close."
"She's been taken advantage of so many times."
"What's her name?"
"Why don't you ask her?"
"She'd never tell me."
"Oh I don't know that." She patted her knee as she she stood. "I need to start on dinner." She walked off.
Gabrielle laid her head back against the tree and sighed. "Is it true? Have I fallen in love with her?" She saw the tent flap open and the conqueror walked out. Her breath stopped and her blood pounded in her ears. "Yes I have."
-XXXXX-
Xena waited as her slave brought her food to her. She grabbed a wrist and pulled
her close. "Not so cheerful today."
Gabrielle was silent.
"Or talkative. Are we wanting to play the part of the slave?"
No answer.
She let go of the wrist and waited. The girl didn't move. "Go." She watched her leave and drew her brows together. The girl had no fire in her eyes. She stood and walked to the kitchen. "Slave."
Gabrielle stood in front of her.
"What is wrong with you?" She didn't get an answer and gripped Gabrielle's chin, tilting her face up. "Hmm. Talk now."
"You wanted me to be a slave. I am. You want me to be quiet. I am. Why aren't you happy. Do you like making me suffer?"
Xena was confused as she watched the woman break down in front of her.
Gabrielle pushed her out of the way and ran outside, the conqueror right behind her. She turned and kneeled, holding out her arms. "Do what you want because I can't fight anymore."
Xena walked closer. She didn't know what to do. "Get up."
Gabrielle stood, head lowered.
Xena tilted her head up. "I don't understand you sometimes." She wiped a tear from Gabrielle's cheek.
"What is your name?"
"Huh?"
Gabrielle met her eyes. "Your name. Please."
"No."
Gabrielle closed her eyes and turned, starting to walk away but was pulled back against a warm body. She felt warm breath at her ear.
"You haven't earned it."
Gabrielle didn't think as she brought her elbow up, connecting with Xena's face. She wasn't let go.
Xena moved to an ear. "That was good. Make sure your second shot is better because you won't get a third."
Gabrielle felt a finger run along her cheek and was let go. Bringing her hand to her cheek she pulled it back to see blood on her fingers. She turned to see Xena walking away holding her nose.
Alana saw the blood on Gabrielle's cheek and got worried as she ran over to her. "What happened to you?"
"Its not mine."
"Who's is it?"
"The conqueror's."
Alana's eyes widened. "How did that happen?"
"I elbowed her in the nose."
Alana smiled. "Well done."
Gabrielle turned to her. "Well done. I'm in trouble now."
"No. The conqueror likes courage."
It made sense to Gabrielle. She remembered when Xena got angry when she saw how submissive she had become. One thing bugged her though. "Alana."
"Hmm?"
"Am I the first to get that close since Caesar?"
"Yes." She smiled and walked away.
-XXXXX-
"You want it?"
"Yes."
"Have you earned it?"
"Yes."
"Prove it." He handed over the metal ring, grinning when Xena held it up.
"What is it?"
"Its called a chakrum." He watched her throw it. "Very good. You know how to handle it."
"Its like I was born to hold it." She felt Ares come up behind her.
"You were." His lips descended to her neck.
"No." She stepped forward out of his grasp.
"No? You tell me no. I give you a very powerful weapon and you tell me no."
"Yeah I said no."
He grinned. "Come here."
"No." She stepped back.
"NOW!"
"You don't control me. Want this back fine, but you don't own me."
"Yes I do. Now come over here and worship your lord."
"My what? I worship no one let alone you."
He grabbed her, throwing her to the ground. "Then I'll just take what is mine."
She pushed him away but he wouldn't move. "Get off me, Ares." She kicked at him, but he held her legs down.
He slapped her across the face and ripped open her shift as he bent to take a nipple into his mouth.
"Get off me! I mean it Ares."
He held her hands above her head. "Not a chance."
She screamed in pain as he entered her.
---
She sat back as she waited. The door to the cabin opened and she saw Caesar
walk in, handsome as ever.
He smiled as he saw her. Climbing on the bed, he ran a hand up her leg. "For me?"
"I like to keep my allies close."
"How close?"
"You'll see." She pulled him to her, pushing her tongue in between his lips.
---
"Break her legs." He stood tall as he watched the man bring the
hammer close to her legs. As they brought them back he looked away and a scream
told him it was done.
Xena sat up and looked around the tent. She could hear the slow and steady rhythm of Gabrielle's breathing. She stood and walked to the tent flap to get some fresh air. The deep breathing stopped. "Go back to sleep." She heard the girl rise and walk behind her. As arms were wrapped around her, she closed her eyes.
"Bad dream?"
"Go back to sleep." She felt Gabrielle lay her head down on her back.
"I can't."
"Why?"
"Because you're not."
Xena turned around. "Why do you care?"
"I just do." She laid her head down on Xena's chest.
Xena didn't know what to do and just followed her instincts as she wrapped her arms around her, laying her chin down on the golden head.
-XXXXX-
Gabrielle woke to see that Xena was gone. She ran a hand through her hair and
looked around. She watched the flap as she walked towards the bed. Picking up a
pillow, she brought it to her nose and took a deep breath. She heard someone
come in and didn't need to look to know she was busted. She laid the pillow down
and turned to Xena.
Xena walked forward. "I don't understand you." She grabbed her sword sheath and walked out.
Gabrielle sat on the bed and sighed.
Alana walked in. "Morning child."
"Morning."
"Something wrong?"
"Do you know everything that has happened to Xena?"
"Yes. Why?"
"I woke up last night after Xena had a nightmare. It was strange. She seemed so frightened." She turned to Alana. "Who would hurt her?"
She sat down on the bed. "She relives her past through her dreams. She never lets anyone comfort her."
"She let me hold her."
"Oh?"
"Yeah. I laid my head down on her chest and she wrapped her arms around me as she laid down her chin on my head."
Alana looked surprised. "Perhaps she feels for you too."
"Don't be ridiculous."
"I'm not. But I know that she hasn't done that before. Not even I can get her to calm down after a dream."
Gabrielle looked away. "She caught me today."
"Doing what?"
"I was smelling her pillow." She grinned and bit her lip. "I couldn't help it, she smells so good."
"You're in love with you."
"Yes I am. I can't deny it any longer."
"What are you going to do about it?"
"There isn't much that I can do."
"Yes there is."
"What?"
"You'll know when it comes down to it. Just follow your heart." She stood up and walked out.
Gabrielle sighed as she rubbed her face.
-XXXXX-
Xena entered the tent, throwing down her armor. Wiping her sweaty hair back, she
unlaced her tunic. Looking around her tent, she noticed Gabrielle wasn't around.
Throwing a shift over her head, she walked out.
Gabrielle bust up laughing for the hundredth time that night. Listening to Alana tell stories about the conqueror really cracked her up.
"And don't get her mad before a battle....," started Alana. "It breaks her concentration. We were heading out and she ran to jump onto her horse." She stopped to laugh. "...slid right down the rear."
Gabrielle laughed. "She seems so....I don't know. Aware of everything around her, I guess. Knows when it will rain before it does, knows how to find people's weaknesses in a fight, know when someone is behind her, knows...."
"When my slave is not in my tent." A voice boomed behind them.
Gabrielle bit her lip and stood up, lowering her head as she stood in front of Xena. "Sorry."
"Go get my bath ready." She watched the girl leave. "And you." She turned to Alana, a finger extended. "Stop telling stories." She walked out.
"Do you deliberately try to disobey me?" Xena asked as she slipped off her shift.
"No." Gabrielle grabbed a sponge as Xena moved into the warm water.
"Make sure you sleep tonight. We leave in the morning."
"Where are we going?"
"None of your business."
Gabrielle glared at the woman's back and kneeled at the tub.
"Glare at me and I'll cut them out."
"How did you know?"
"I guessed but you confirmed it." She smiled as she closed her eyes to enjoy the bath. Her eyes popped back open as someone approached the tent.
"My lord."
"Come in."
Lily walked into the tent. "Brackus wishes to speak to you."
"So why doesn't he come to me himself?"
"I don't know Mistress." Her eyes turned to Gabrielle.
Xena stood up out of the water. "Towel."
Gabrielle felt the being towel yanked from her hands and watched as Lily toweled the warrior.
Xena noticed this as well. "Stay here." She slipped on her robe and walked out.
Gabrielle jumped when the towel hit her in the face. "Watch it."
"Excuse me."
"I didn't stutter." She tossed the towel with the other dirty clothes.
"I'd watch your back."
"And why is that?"
"This is my job and if you try to come between me and her, you'll pay."
Gabrielle looked at her. "You're a slave! She doesn't care about you, get it through your head."
Lily smiled. "And your jealous."
Gabrielle was about to reply when she felt a sting across her face from Lily's slap. She pushed her away. "Don't start this."
"What are you gonna do?" She punched Gabrielle, watching her stagger. The smile left her face when she heard someone enter the tent.
Xena walked in, her eyes instantly on Gabrielle who lowered her head, blood running down her nose. She looked at Lily, her eyes demanding an explanation.
"She tripped." She smiled sweetly.
Xena looked down at Gabrielle. "This true?"
Gabrielle looked up at her. "Yes."
Xena knew the girl was lying and wanted to know the truth. "Leave Lily."
The girl didn't move.
"NOW!"
She all but ran from the tent.
Xena turned to Gabrielle again, who was pulling herself up. "What really happened?"
"I fell."
"Don't lie to me."
Gabrielle turned from her only to have her head twisted back. She looked into Xena's bright blue eyes.
"You aren't good at lying, so tell me the truth."
"She hit me."
"I thought so. Why didn't you tell me?"
"I didn't want to cause problems."
"Well you already did." She stood. "I'll handle her."
"Please no."
"Why?"
"I don't want problems with her."
"Well obviously you already have them. What happened to cause this?"
Silence.
"One more time I'll ask. What happened?"
"She told me to watch my back."
"Why?"
"She said that she was your slave and I had better stay away."
"She afraid of you taking her place?"
"Yes."
Xena stood in front of her, tilting the girl's head up so she could look into her face. "She has a right to be." Her eyes swept over Gabrielle's body. "Stay away from her, huh?"
Gabrielle nodded.
"Now. Lets finish my bath." She walked past the girl.
-XXXXX-
Gabrielle woke to someone shaking her. She saw Alana standing over her.
"Up girl. Camp's packed up."
"Where are we going?"
Alana smiled. "Conqueror's castle"
Gabrielle sat up, grabbing her clothes. Slipping them over her head, she pulled on her boots, then grabbed her blankets from the floor. As she walked out, the tent fell. She felt the blankets being yanked out of her hands and turned to see Xena.
She didn't say a word as she handed Gabrielle an apple.
Gabrielle watched her walk away and looked around at once used to be a big war camp. Now all that was left was fire pits and left over wood. She felt a hand at her shoulder.
"You'll ride with me." A velvet voice purred in her ear.
Gabrielle closed her eyes and turned. She saw a piece of hair blow into Xena's face from the wind and before she could stop it, she had pushed it behind an ear. She didn't see anger in those eyes and smiled, getting one in return.
Xena turned and climbed up into the saddle, holding out a hand for Gabrielle pulling her in front of her.
Gabrielle felt an arm go around her waist and turned to see Lily glaring at her, hatred in her eyes.
Lily pointed at her and held up her finger to slide it across her neck.
Gabrielle turned and felt warm breath at her ear.
"Don't let her bother you."
"Can I ask you something?"
"You can ask but I may not answer."
"Why don't you want me?"
Xena chuckled. "What makes you think I don't."
"You haven't let me...." A finger was felt over her lips.
"You haven't earned it."
"How?"
"You'll know soon enough."
-XXXXX-
Gabrielle jumped awake as she was pulled from the saddle.
"Just relax."
Gabrielle watched as the conqueror turned down corridors and went up some stairs.
They went into a door and Gabrielle gasped. The room was beautiful. Silk banners hung down the walls. There were soft fur pelts on the ground by the fire place. A joining room had a huge bath and closet.
As she was set down onto the bed, she sat up.
"Relax. Just sleep. I'll wake you when I need you."
Gabrielle found comfort in those words and closed her eyes, falling asleep on the soft pillows and silk sheets.
Xena walked over to a window and looked out into her city. Her body hummed at being back home.
A knock came to her door.
"Come."
Alana walked in. "She's tired." She pointed at Gabrielle.
"Yep." She turned to the girl. "She's out."
Alana smiled as she watched the conqueror stare at the girl. "Anything you want or need before I retire for the night?"
"No." Her eyes were back on the window again, and she barely heard the woman leave.
-XXXXX-
Xena slammed her fist into the table. "The only action is war. We need to
cut them off before they have a chance."
"Where?" asked Brackus.
She grabbed a dagger. "Here." The point was in a pass.
Brackus smiled. "We cut them off, and head for their home."
"Yes." She smiled.
"The Romans don't stand a chance."
Xena stood." Prepare our men and send a message for our boat to meet us."
He walked out.
She ran a hand through her hair and turned to look out the window, smiling at the sunshine.
-XXXXX-
Gabrielle walked down to a small pond behind the castle. As she neared it, she
looked down to see fresh foot prints in the mud. She slowly moved on, wondering
who it was.
Coming to it. She kneeled as she pushed back the bushes to look out into the water. A dark figure caught her eye. It was the conqueror.
She was standing on a rock ledge under a water fall.
Gabrielle watched as she slipped under the water.
A noise behind her made her turn, but it was only a small squirrel. She turned back but Xena was gone.
"Looking for me?"
Gabrielle sighed and turned.
"You could be punished for this."
"But?"
"But I'm tired." She turned and walked away only to stop. "I leave in the morning." She walked on, aware she was being followed.
-XXXXX-
Lily stormed through the halls, looking for Gabrielle. She saw Xena first in the
dinning hall. "My lord. I heard we leave for war tomorrow."
"We we do, but your not going." She hadn't looked up from her map.
"But you always take me along with you. You know for after the battle."
Xena looked up. "I said no. I don't need to explain to you why I'm not." She turned her head down once more.
Lily glared and turned jumped when something hit the doorway. Turning to look at it, she saw that it was a dagger.
"Leave her alone."
Lily walked out.
-XXXXX-
Lily stared out of the castle as the soldiers gathered around and prepared to
leave. She saw Xena emerge, dressed in full battle gear. She glared down at her.
"I was your slave, now you only want her." She smiled. "What
would happen if you suddenly lost her?" A loud laugh filled the room.
One Month Later
Gabrielle walked around the garden, taking in all the smells and colors. She
never knew Xena would care for such things but she was proven wrong. She sat
down on the wall that surrounded the small pond, and as she gazed into the
water, her reflection frowned up at her. She stood and closed her eyes as she
started to walk. "What am I going to do?" She heard someone walking
towards her and spun around to see Alana. "You scared me."
"Sorry."
"Something the matter?"
"No, I come out here a lot." She sat down. "You miss her don't you?"
"I do." She sat down as well.
"Have you told her?" She got a confused look. "That you love her?"
She shook her head.
"Why not? I'm sure she feels the same."
"No, she doesn't." Her head lowered.
"How can you be so sure if you haven't asked her?"
Gabrielle's head raised up. "Do you know who she is? She is the empress of Greece. I am nothing but a simple villager." Her head once again lowered.
"Stop that right now." She stood. "After we arrived here, I came into her bedchamber to see if she needed anything. When I saw her look at you, the look in her eyes said it all." She took a breath. "Gabrielle, do you realize what you have discovered?"
"What?"
"The conqueror's heart."
-XXXXX-
Lily watched Gabrielle take a plate and sit down in the dining hall. As the girl
prepared to eat, she took a seat next to her. "Morning Gabrielle." She
said her name slowly.
"What do you want?"
"Do I need a reason to talk to you?"
Gabrielle turned to her. "Yes."
Lily chuckled as a soft sigh came out of her lips. She leaned closer. "You will not take her from me if its the last thing I do." She stood up and walked out.
Gabrielle sat for a minute before standing up. Enough was enough. She saw Lily walking down the hall. "What is your problem?" she yelled.
Lily spun around. "You! Don't you understand. Things were fine until you came along. Now nothing is how it used to be. Leave before you don't have a choice."
"Is that a threat?"
"You can take it how you want." She turned and walked away.
Gabrielle shook her head and followed.
Lily entered her room and felt Gabrielle behind her. She turned. "What?"
"What? You threaten me and ask me what? What is your problem with me?"
"I don't like you."
"Well if it makes you feel better, I don't stand a chance with the Conqueror. She doesn't even acknowledge me."
Lily studied the woman in front of her with a slight smile. "You're in love with her aren't you. That is so pathetic." She let out a happy sigh and turned.
"All the better for you."
"No. Better for me would mean your death." She turned her head. "But that won't happen. I can't kill you and it seems as though the Conqueror never will either. Now leave my room."
Gabrielle backed out and left silently.
-XXXXX-
Gabrielle walked up and down the halls, bored out of her mind. She came to a
door that was new to her. Pushing it open slightly, she dropped her jaw a she
stepped in. The room was lined with weapons. Hundreds of them and every weapon
imaginable. As her eyes took it all in, she noticed a line of staffs. Several
lengths and colors. She walked to them and picked up a dark wooden one, that had
several things carved into it. She took a closer look to see that the carvings
were of animals, panthers and snakes. She picked another one up and twirled it
around. It had a good feel. Not too heavy and not too light. This one was a
light tan with leather stripped down the length of it in large and small X's.
She smiled and stepped back with this one in her hand.
She walked to a smaller room and twirled it around. As she closed her eyes she moved back and forth. There was something about this weapon that she liked.
"You know the penalty for slaves touching weapons?" A voice filtered into the room.
She opened her eyes and dropped the staff.
Lily stepped in. "Death. They'd kill you for even looking at one." She smiled and reached out to grab Gabrielle's arm as she tried to walk away. "No." She backed her up against a wall. "I hate you." Her eyes lowered to Gabrielle's body. "But I am starting to find a use for you."
Gabrielle pushed her away. "Don't even think it." She walked out.
Lily smiled and picked up the staff on the floor. She studied it and carried it out of the room.
Three Months later
Lily ran down the halls as she heard the trumpets sound the return of the
troops. She ran outside and right up to Xena. "My lord, you return."
Xena jumped down from her horse.
"I have news for you my lord."
"And what is that?"
"Your slave was caught handling a staff."
"Was she?"
"She was."
Xena walked past her.
"What are you going to do about it?" She grabbed for her throat when Xena wrapped her hands around it.
"Don't worry about me, slave. Worry about yourself." She let go and walked past her once more.
Lily rubbed her throat and followed. "Will you be needing my services?" She ran a hand up Xena's arm.
Xena removed it. "No." She walked into the stable, Argo in tow.
Lily took a few breaths to control her anger and headed towards the castle.
-XXXXX-
The door slammed shut as Lily walked in making Gabrielle look up. Before she had
time to say a thing, she felt a fist in her face. Momentarily stunned for only a
second, she fought back, grabbing Lily and throwing her against the wall.
"Remember you started this." She belted her, receiving a knee in the
stomach. She doubled over and swiped Lily's legs out from under her. Straddling
her, she kept punching.
Lily rolled Gabrielle over, slamming the girl's head against the floor.
Gabrielle pushed her off of her and laid a swift kick to her right temple.
Lily grabbed a small lock of Gabrielle's hair and ripped it out.
Gabrielle slapped her, and brought her forward to knee her in the groin. It had a different effect as on a man but she felt pain.
This didn't bring her down as she grabbed a chair, breaking it over a table and grabbing a sharp stick. "Come on. Does the little bitch want to die?"
Gabrielle kicked the stick out of her hands and kicked her in the stomach.
Lily grabbed her and threw her onto a table. She grabbed her throat and started squeezing. "I hate you. Everything was perfect until you came."
Lily was pulled back from behind.
Gabrielle opened her eyes to see Alana punch the girl, knocking her out.
"And that is how you handle her."
Gabrielle nodded, not able to speak. She waved as Alana left. Standing up, she rubbed her throat, feeling the start of bruises.
-XXXXX-
Footsteps sounded down the hall and the Conqueror's voice boomed out orders.
Gabrielle quickly looked around, grabbing a robe that hid her neck. She filled
the bath with warm water, hoping she wouldn't suspect a thing.
As the door opened, she kept her back turned as she dropped several rose petals on top of the water. She felt arms wrap around her and held back a wince as her sore bruises were touched. Her eyes closed as she felt warm breath fall across her neck.
"You smell good."
"Thank you."
"How did you know I'd want a bath?"
"Lucky guess."
"Very lucky."
Xena started to massage the girl's shoulders, raising to her neck. She saw her wince and stopped. "You all right?"
"I'm fine."
Xena ran a hand over the left side, pressing down and again saw her wince. "What happened?" She pulled the robe away from the neck to see bruises. She turned the girl around and saw more on her face along with a split lip. "Who did this?"
"Lily."
Xena squeezed Gabrielle on the ribs to see her wince once more. Her fingers told her there was a cracked rib. "I'll be right back."
Before Gabrielle could reply, Xena was out the door.
Xena kicked open Lily's door and saw the girl bending over a table. "What is the meaning of this? I told you to leave Gabrielle alone."
Lily turned and Xena saw a whole bunch of bruises on her face. She smiled. 'Good girl.' "Why did you attack her?"
"I didn't."
"Don't lie to me."
"You're taking her word over mine?"
"Yes."
The girl walked forward, stiffly and gently.
"I take it you got the worse of it."
"Did you teach her how to fight?"
"No. You attacked her planning to beat the shit out of her and instead it was you who got their ass kicked."
"I gave as good as I took."
"I don't think so. She kicked your ass." She smiled. "Good night I'll deal with you later." She closed the door.
Gabrielle looked up to see Xena enter. Xena walked to a sink to fill a bowel with water. She then grabbed a few rags and a pouch. Gabrielle lowered her head.
Xena sat down in front of her and opened the pouch spilling a little white powder into the water. She dipped a rag in and brought it to Gabrielle's face.
Gabrielle moved back.
"Stop that and let me help you."
Gabrielle leaned forward, closing her eyes as the rag hit her lip. "I'm sorry."
"For what? Defending yourself? Never be sorry for that. Lily had it coming." She grabbed Gabrielle's hand, running the cloth over the bruised and swollen skin. "Xena."
"Hmm?"
"My name." She looked up into Gabrielle's eyes. "Its Xena."
Gabrielle smiled, aware of her lip. "Thank you."
-XXXXX-
Gabrielle woke to an empty room. Looking around, she spotted a dark head in the
bath. She quietly stood and crept towards her, pulling on a robe.
"I thought you'd sleep all day. Wanna help me?"
Gabrielle smiled. She was asked not told.
Xena turned her head. "Hmm?"
"Is that a request or a demand?"
"Depends."
"On what?"
"If you say yes, its a request. If you say no, its a demand." She smiled. "So what'll it be?"
"No." There was a smile on her face.
"No?"
Gabrielle leaned forward brushing her lips against Xena's as she spoke. "My side hurts."
Xena softened her gaze. "Your face doesn't look to good." She ran a finger down a cheek.
"Thanks."
"You know what I meant."
"I do."
"Go get some rest. I'll wash myself."
Gabrielle turned to walk away and was pulled back against a warm wet body.
"Take it easy today."
"I will." She was let go.
Xena turned to finish washing up.
"Xena."
"Hmm?" She turned her head.
"Nothing I just wanted to say it."
"Just be careful when you use it."
"I will." She walked back to the tub and kneeled. "Have I earned anything yet?"
Xena smiled. "Yes."
"What have I earned?"
"This." She leaned forward, brushing her lips against Gabrielle's. She meant for it to end there but her lips had a mind of their own as she deepened the kiss. As her tongue touched Gabrielle's, she couldn't hold back a moan.
Someone cleared their throat behind them.
Gabrielle pulled back, her eyes connecting with Xena's and in that single moment, she saw what no one else had seen before. The woman behind the armor. Then it was gone as quickly as it had come.
"Alana."
"Conqueror, your generals are waiting for you in the great hall." She saw Xena nod and left.
"My towel."
Gabrielle leaned over and grabbed the towel and wrapping it around Xena.
Xena stepped out and walked to her closets.
"Xena."
"I have to hurry Gabrielle."
"You said my name." She walked closer running a finger down Xena's arm. What surprised her was the shiver Xena made.
"You shivered."
Xena turned to her. "I know." She grabbed an outfit and walked into the other room.
Gabrielle walked to the bed and sat down. Xena's back was to her.
Xena jumped when she felt lips kiss their way down her spine, stopping to lick at her tailbone. "Don't."
"Why?"
Xena turned. "You haven't earned it."
"Yes I have you're just making excuses." She pressed her body against Xena's. "Aren't you?"
"Oh?"
"Yes. You want me but you don't want to admit it." She kissed the collar bone in front of her, raising her lips to a soft neck. "Please."
"No." She backed up and finished dressing then turned. "Stay here." She walked out.
"Where else am I going to go?" She turned around and walked to the window. Looking out, she sighed as she closed her eyes. "You're scared." She turned her head to the door.
-XXXXX-
Xena walked down the dark corridor, holding a candle to see her way through the
dark. She walked into her bedchamber and closed the door. Her eyes were drawn to
the figure on the bed asleep. She sat down on the bed.
Gabrielle opened her eyes and looked up at her. "Everything go well?"
"Yes."
"You okay?"
"Great."
Gabrielle sat up. "You look different." She closed her eyes as a hand caressed her cheek. She leaned into it.
'I'm going to get hurt so bad this time.' She looked away, dropping her hand.
"What is it?" She rubbed Xena's hand.
"Nothing." She stood.
"You can talk to me."
"No I can't, you're just a slave."
"That hurt, Xena." She sat at the edge of the bed. "You can trust me."
"I can't trust anyone." She felt warm breath on her neck and closed her eyes.
"I know you've been hurt. You've laid out your trust to those who betrayed you." She moved in front of her. "I don't want anything. but you. Not your kingdom, your army, just your heart."
"I may not have a heart to give."
"Yes you do."
Xena stepped away and sat down on her bed, watching as Gabrielle parted her knees to stand in front of her.
"Let me show you love."
"No."
Gabrielle bent down onto her knees. "Do you think that you don't deserve it?"
"I know I don't."
Gabrielle laid her head down on Xena's chest. "Everyone deserves it." She pulled back. "Even you."
Xena looked down at her. "You're wrong."
Gabrielle smiled. "No I'm not. You saved me from Lily."
"No I didn't. I just handled her after she had done her damage. She'll be back, Gabrielle."
"I know, but you'll be there."
Xena looked away. "How can you be so sure?"
"I just am."
"I've never saved anyone."
"You saved me."
"Only because you saved me first."
-XXXXX-
Xena looked up to see Gabrielle enter the weapons room. "There you
are." She laid her sword down. "I heard you were handling a
staff." She saw Gabrielle's eyes go wide. "Why? You knew the
punishment."
"No, my lord I did not."
"I see, and its Xena if you don't mind."
"I thought it inappropriate since I was in trouble."
"You aren't in trouble. I just asked a question." She picked up a staff. "Which one was it?" She didn't see the girl move. "I am giving you permission."
Gabrielle reached for the tan staff.
"I would have thought so. Any reason why you chose it?"
She shook her head knowing full well there was.
Xena smiled. "Its yours."
Gabrielle raised her head fast. "What?"
"Its yours."
"But..."
"I will teach you how to use it, for protection."
"Thank you."
"Your welcome, just don't make me regret it."
-XXXXX-
Gabrielle entered Xena's room to see Lily.
"Oh, so the wench returns."
"I'm no wench."
"Yes you are."
"What do you want?"
"Xena."
"Well as you can see, she's not here."
"Actually I came for you."
"What now?"
Lily pulled out a dagger. "Lets say we stir things up a bit."
"I won't fight you."
"You don't have a choice." She lunged but Gabrielle moved. "Come on, does the little virgin wanna die? You're still a virgin aren't you?"
Gabrielle rolled her eyes as she walked away. "I would leave before she comes back."
"She won't hurt her own slave."
"You aren't her body slave anymore."
"And do you know who's fault that is?"
"Please leave."
"No." She smiled as she moved quickly. So fast, that Gabrielle didn't have time to move.
She felt the dagger pierce her skin before she knew what happened. Looking down, she saw the handle sticking out as blood ran down her side. She looked up at Lily. "Why?" She fell the the floor.
Xena walked in and stopped in her place. She saw Gabrielle down on the floor and then back up at Lily.
Lily saw her eyes level as they grew dark. "She was in my way. I'm your body slave, not this scrap of a girl." She saw Xena pull out her sword. "Look, Xena. We had it good before she came along. All she has done is softened you." She backed up till her back hit the wall.
Xena walked forward, sword at her side.
Lily turned to look out the window. It was so far down. She turned back around to Xena.
Xena leaned down. "She is the best thing to ever happen to me. I tell you because you won't mention this to anyone but Hades." She smiled.
"You won't kill me. After all we've been through."
Xena smiled evilly. "I hope you know me as well as you think you do." She pushed her out the window watching her fall. Turning back to Gabrielle she calmed her heart rate and kneeled down, checking her pulse. Her eyes closed when she felt a faint beat. She pushed down on Gabrielle's side as she pulled the dagger out. Turning her over slightly, she saw that the blade hadn't gone through the back. She picked her up and whispered in her ear, "Don't you die on me."
-XXXXX-
Gabrielle opened her eyes and looked around. Nothing looked familiar. She tried
to sit up but remembered her injury when she felt a blinding pain at her side.
"Relax now."
Gabrielle turned to the voice. "Who are you?"
"Just the healer. You had a mean looking gash there. Dagger?"
"How did I get here?"
"The conqueror brought you in." She laid a wet cloth over Gabrielle's forehead.
"Where is she?"
"I don't know."
Gabrielle laid back down. "Where am I?"
"In the castle."
Gabrielle tried to keep her eyes open but couldn't.
"Don't fight the medication. You are safe here." She watched the woman's eyes close and walked out.
Gabrielle felt someone running a hand over her forehead and opened her eyes to see Xena.
"You all right?"
"Yeah. You didn't hurt Lily did
you?"
"She almost killed you."
"But I still don't...." A finger silenced her as it laid across her
lips.
"Don't worry about her. She won't bother you again. I promise."
"Thank you."
"For what?"
"For bringing me here. For taking care of Lily."
"No problem. But don't thank me yet, I'm in need of a new body slave?" She smiled. "Just kidding."
"Let me have the job."
"Wouldn't work."
"Why?"
"There wouldn't be a point in ordering you around. You'd do everything I said willingly."
"So. That would only make your job easier."
"True."
"So how bout it?"
"You couldn't handle it." She turned. "Besides, I don't want you like that." She saw the hurt in Gabrielle's eyes. "Let me rephrase that. I'm just saying that I wouldn't want to be cruel with you."
"But I'm your slave."
Xena sighed. "That's the problem."
-XXXXX-
Alana watched as the conqueror played with her food. "Don't like it?"
"Its fine." She laid down her fork.
"Something troubling you?"
"You could say that."
"Or is it someone?"
Xena looked up. "I don't know what to do."
"Perhaps if I knew the problem."
"I'm in...no..no." She covered her face.
"You love her don't you?"
"Yes."
"Then free her."
"What if she leaves?"
"Then you'll let her." She stood and grabbed Xena's bowl. "Since you aren't eating this." She turned and walked away.
Xena sat back in her chair and grabbed her dagger, throwing it across the room. When she didn't hear it connect with anything, she looked up to see Gabrielle holding a cutting board with the knife imbedded.
"I think this belongs to you." She walked to the table and dropped it on Xena's palm. "You look troubled." She sat down across from her. "Xena."
"I'm freeing you Gabrielle."
"I'm free."
"Yeah so go ahead and leave like everyone else." She stood and started to walk away when Gabrielle grabbed her arm.
"I'm not going anywhere."
"We'll see." She pulled her arm away and walked out.
-XXXXX-
Xena walked out into the field to see Ares standing there in all his glory.
"You wanted me to meet you here." She stopped a few feet from him,
hands on her hips.
He turned and smiled as she produced a metal disk on his palm. "You want it?"
"Yes."
"Have you earned it?"
"Yes."
"Prove it." He handed it over, grinning when Xena held it up.
Gabrielle woke to the sound of screams. She turned to look at Xena who was asleep. As she rose to walk over, she heard more screams. She immediately sat down and tried to shake the woman awake.
She was surprised when Xena turned on her side and grabbed onto her. Gabrielle stroked Xena's cheek as she hummed gently to her. When the woman was asleep again, she rose and walked out of the door. She needed answers.
Gabrielle ran down the halls towards the library. "Alana."
A door opened.
"Who is Ares?"
"God of War."
"The God of War?"
"Yes."
"Why is Xena dreaming about him? Well not dreams, nightmares."
"She's is his chosen."
"Did he hurt her?"
Alana took a breath. "Sit down and I'll tell you all about that relationship." She sat down. "Xena was a young, stubborn warrior who wanted power. She had the strength of ten men and the knowledge of several scholars. But that wasn't enough. She thought she needed his help and things were fine for awhile. She had a new army, had conquered villages, earned her name well. But one thing was wrong, Ares. You see, while she lusted for power, he lusted for her. She conquered in his name but it wasn't enough. He gave her a powerful weapon and made her repay him."
"How?"
"He raped her."
"How do you know that?"
"She came back to camp and I happened to be in her tent. She sat down and you could tell she was in pain. The look in her eyes was the worse. He had broken something in her and she hated him for that. From that day on she would never trust anyone ever again."
Gabrielle closed her eyes.
"She'll never trust another man." Her eyes grew soft. "The only one she talked to, as little as she did, was me. I think she has learned to trust you." She smiled.
"I think I love her."
Alana nodded. "I could have told you that."
"Well what do I do?"
"Tell her."
Gabrielle stood. "Are you nuts! She'll laugh in my face." She turned around, running her hand through her hair.
"Only thing you can do is try." She stood and walked away.
Gabrielle shook her head and walked out. She walked to the room and looked at the bed. Xena was still asleep. Moving quietly, she sat down next to her and just watched. As she slid a dark piece of hair behind Xena's ear, she smiled. "This isn't about who can conquer who anymore."
Xena opened her eyes, grabbing a small hand.
Gabrielle waited for anything but what happened.
Xena brought the hand to her mouth and kissed it. Her eyes turned to Gabrielle's.
"I thought you were asleep."
"I know." She reached forward and pulled Gabrielle down to lay next to her.
Gabrielle felt arms wrap around her waist and held her breath as Xena molded her body against her back. She felt warm breath at her ear and shuddered as she closed her eyes.
Xena held her tight and heard the deep even sound of Gabrielle's breathing as she fell asleep. She looked down at the peaceful face and smiled as she took a breath. "I think I'm in love with you."
-XXXXX-
Gabrielle stretched out her arm to feel empty space next to her on the bed. She
opened her eyes and raised her head to look around. There was no one in the
room.
She sat up and swung her legs over the side to stand up. Looking back, she saw Xena's pillow and smiled as she picked it up to take in the scent of the dark woman yet again.
She laughed and set it back down standing up, she walked to her own bed and laid down.
The door opened as Xena walked in. Her eyes traveled from the bed to where Gabrielle now lay. "You aren't a slave anymore."
"Yes I am." She looked up. "I am because you treat me like one."
Xena walked to her. "I know."
Gabrielle stood. "Do you trust me?"
"Yes."
"Then let me in."
"In?"
"In here." Gabrielle placed her hand over Xena's heart.
"I don't know how."
"Let me show you." She started to unlace Xena's shirt, but a hand stopped her.
"I can't."
Gabrielle nodded and lowered her hand as her other came to the back of Xena's head to pull her down.
Xena pulled back. "Come with me."
"Where?"
"I have some business to attend to. Just you and me."
"Sure you can handle that?"
Xena picked her up. "I know I can." She kissed her and set her back down.
"I will then." She backed up to get dressed and felt hands help her untie the laces on her back. "Oh you can help me but I can't help you."
The hands stopped. "Sorry."
Gabrielle pulled them back. "I was joking."
Xena slid the shift down Gabrielle's body and moaned in her ear, when Gabrielle pushed her ass into Xena.
"Mmm, like that?"
"Oh yeah." She nibbled on an ear. "But I have a meeting to go to."
Gabrielle stepped forward. "Then go."
"Wanna come?"
"No."
Xena nodded and turned to walk out. "One more thing." She turned. "Tell Alana to get a bath ready. Please."
"Your favorite oils?"
"Yeah, and whatever you like."
"Huh?"
Xena smiled. "You wanna join me or not?" She saw her grin. "I'll take that as a yes then." She walked out.
Gabrielle ran to the kitchen. "Alana, bath water."
"Comin up."
Gabrielle ran back to the room and waited for Xena to come back.
-XXXXX-
Xena walked into her room and saw Gabrielle in the tub. "Now that I
like." She undressed and stepped in, leaning against the side.
"Perfect." Her eyes closed as she relaxed. She felt the coolness of
metal as a dagger touched her throat. She opened her eyes.
"Do you trust me?"
"Yes." She let her head tilt up, revealing her exposed throat.
Gabrielle threw the knife and straddled Xena's waist. "Just wanted to know." She laid her hand over Xena's heart and felt it beating rapidly. "You didn't know whether I'd do it or not did you?"
"No."
"But you trusted me?"
"Yes."
"Your heart is beating fast."
"Because you're here."
"Great answer." She nibbled along her neck. "Xena."
"Hmm?"
"Let me make love to you."
Xena closed her eyes and groaned.
"Please. I won't hurt you." Her hand covered a breast, her lips trailing down her neck.
"Gabri...." Fingers were over her mouth.
"No, just close your eyes and let me love you."
Their eyes met for a minute before Xena closed her eyes giving in.
Gabrielle bit her lip when she knew Xena had given herself to her. "Thank you." She leaned closer to an ear. "I love you."
Xena gasped as Gabrielle took a nipple into her mouth. Her hands grabbed hold of red hair as she tilted her head back. When a hand traveled down her body to reach her stomach, she tensed up.
Gabrielle looked at her. "Shh, just relax." She lowered her hand and closed her eyes as she finally got to touch the woman of her dreams. "Thank you." She kissed her softly and slowly, letting her know the love she had inside of her.
Xena spread her legs as Gabrielle moved off her lap. There was so much love and caring in those green eyes that she could do nothing but lay back and close her eyes. When she felt two fingers slide into her she reached for Gabrielle, pulling her close as the fingers started a gentle thrust. "Gods."
Gabrielle studied the woman's face and kissed her gently on her cheek as she stroked inside of her. "No one has been here without the right purpose. I am here out of love and always will be." She nibbled an ear. "Let go Xena, just let go." Her head bent to take a nipple into her mouth once more.
Xena arched her back and cried out as her orgasm hit her. "Gabrielle! Oh gods." She lifted her hips and collapsed, eyes closed.
Gabrielle laid her head down on Xena's shoulder, under her neck. "You okay?"
Xena wrapped her arms around her and held her tight.
Gabrielle wiped a tear from Xena's eye and smiled. "I'm in love with you too."
Xena pulled her away to look at her face. "What?"
"I heard you. I thought it was a dream. I'm in love with you. Don't know when it happened but I am. Please tell me that you still love me?"
Xena looked at her for a minute before trying to get up.
Gabrielle held her down. "You will not run from this." She grabbed her wrists. "Talk to me."
Xena looked her in the eyes. "I don't know how to do this."
"This? Just a simple answer. Yes or no?"
Xena was silent.
"So no then?"
Her head lowered. "I do."
Gabrielle smiled, bringing Xena's head up. "Tell me. Say it just once."
"I'm in love with you Gabrielle."
Gabrielle laid her head down once more on Xena's shoulder. "Thank you."
She laid her chin down on Gabrielle's head, closing her eyes as a lone tear ran down her cheek.
-XXXXX-
Xena woke up to a soft caress across her forehead. Opening her eyes, she saw
Gabrielle looking down at her. Panic seeped in and she rolled over to sit up.
"What is it?"
"Nothing."
Gabrielle watched as Xena stood and grabbed a robe, slipping it on. "What happened?"
Xena turned to look at her. "I don't know." She looked away.
Gabrielle stood and walked to her. "Don't shut me out now."
"I'll be leaving tomorrow."
"I'm not going with you am I?" She raised a hand to Xena's cheek.
Xena pulled away.
"By the gods what has he done to you?"
Xena turned away.
"You won't let me in will you?"
"I tried." Her head lowered as she tied the belt. "It's not safe."
"So last night didn't mean anything to you?" She slipped a shift over her head.
"I didn't say that."
"You didn't have to."
Xena walked into the other room to dress.
"You will not treat me like one of your whores. I'm not a slave anymore and you've already said that." She walked to her. "So stop this and talk to me."
"Just go."
"No." Gabrielle wrapped her arms around her back. "That is what everyone else has done."
Xena pushed her away. "Now."
"I don't have to listen to you." She twisted Xena around. "You have never been loved. I'm not letting you go."
"You never had me."
"Apparently."
"No one will own me."
"I don't want to own you, Xena. I want to love you."
Xena pulled Gabrielle's hand from her arm and sat down on the bed. "You have no idea what its like to not be able to trust anyone. Be watching your back all the time. Waiting for that one enemy that will destroy you. To never feel safe." She looked up.
Gabrielle kneeled. "I may not know that. But I do know what its like to be safe. I was safe in your arms as you held me. I knew that you wouldn't let anyone hurt me. I think you felt it too."
Xena stood.
Gabrielle rose. "Fine. I won't fight you but I'm not leaving."
Xena moved past her, but was grabbed and pushed back onto the bed. She pulled a dagger from under her pillow and held it to Gabrielle's throat.
"You won't."
"How can you be so sure of that?"
"Because I have to trust my heart." She felt her hands being tied above her head. "What are you doing?"
Xena sat back.
"Xena." She shivered as Xena's eyes traveled hungrily over her body. When their eyes met, she knew she was in trouble.
Xena unlaced the front of Gabrielle's shift and taking a nipple into her mouth, she trailed a hand up a leg to her hip to squeeze gently. As she grabbed hold of the shirt, she couldn't stop herself as she tore it down the middle.
"Am I in trouble?"
"The worse. I'm not sure how to be in a relationship, but there are a few things that I do know."
"And what are those?"
Xena smiled. "You'll see soon enough." She grabbed for her dagger and took a look at Gabrielle, who was tied and all ready for her. She shook her head and brought the dagger to the ropes, cutting them. "No."
Gabrielle sat up. "What?"
"I won't tie you up."
"Why?"
"Because I know what will happen if I do."
Gabrielle smiled as she stroked Xena's cheek. "Touch me Xena." She slipped the shift over her head.
Xena looked at her.
"Please." She grabbed Xena's hand and held it to her breast. "Touch me, Xena."
Xena looked down at her hand and felt the fear seeping in once again. Gabrielle must have seen it in her eyes because she grabbed her face and made her look at her.
"No, this isn't about conquering anything, or gaining power. Just you and me."
Xena closed her eyes as she squeezed the breast, feeling the nipple strain against her palm. "Gabrielle I..." Her words were cut off as a mouth covered hers. She felt a hand trail down her body to cup her ass. As she was pushed backwards, she felt Gabrielle lay down onto her body.
"Let go Xena. Love me." She let herself be rolled over and gasped when Xena took a nipple into her mouth. "Yes." She parted her legs, feeling Xena's hips thrust against hers.
Xena ran a hand up Gabrielle's thigh as she made her way to a soft hip. Lowering her hand, she closed her eyes when it was met with incredible wetness. "Gods, Gabrielle."
"Take me Xena."
Xena looked up. "You're a virgin Gabrielle."
"Please."
"But what if you....." She felt a finger over her lips.
"I'll never love anyone else." Her head lowered as she felt Xena twirl her fingers around her opening.
"Are you sure. You aren't a slave anymore Gabrielle."
"I'm sure."
Xena sucked in a breath and slid a finger into Gabrielle, breaking through the barrier, and erasing any trace of her virginity.
Gabrielle gasped at the sudden pain and closed her eyes, holding onto Xena.
Xena watched her and waited. When Gabrielle looked down at her, she pumped the finger in and out, adding another. She groaned as the muscles pulled her fingers in. As Gabrielle's scent drifted up to her nose, she smiled and lowered her head, getting another taste of the woman under her. Just as she remembered.
Gabrielle cried out as she felt the soft tongue swirl around. "Yes, Xena."
Xena felt a tear fall down her face and smiled. She finally felt the hollow place in her heart fill as she made love to this beautiful creature.
"Xena."
"Hmm?"
"Turn, I want us to do this together."
Xena raised her head. "What?"
"Please."
There was a brief silence before Xena turned around, letting Gabrielle taste her. She lowered her mouth and continued to please Gabrielle. When she felt a tongue slip into her opening, she cried out as her body shivered with pleasure. She was so close and she had to work harder on Gabrielle. Pumping her fingers in harder and faster, she increased the suction of her mouth.
Gabrielle arched her back as she climaxed. The only thing on her mind was bringing Xena with her and she did just that as she thrust three fingers into Xena, pumping fast. She felt Xena stiffen and then the warrior laid down on her, totally spent. "Xena."
Silence.
"Xena."
"Huh." She was breathing hard.
"Thank you."
Xena twisted her head back to look at her. "What?"
"Thank you." She smiled when Xena turned to lay next to her. "You're thanking me. I should be thanking you."
"Why?"
She smiled as she brought Gabrielle's hand to her heart. "Feel that beating. Its alive because of you. Because of you, I have a heart."
Gabrielle smiled as she was pulled into Xena's arms. "What now?"
"Now we sleep." She closed her eyes as she felt Gabrielle lay her head down on her shoulder.
"I love you."
"I love you too."

Gabrielle woke up and looked over, expecting to be alone and raised up quickly
when she saw Xena asleep at her side. "You stayed." She ran a finger
over Xena's back and smiled when she reached for the belt that held her robe on.
As she pulled she bit her lip.
"Sure you want to do that?"
"Yes I am."
Xena opened her eyes and rolled them over. As she looked down at Gabrielle she smiled. "Mmm, her lips descended to sample a soft neck. "Sweet."
"Xena."
"That's my name."
She rolled her over. "Let me." She slid the robe open and took Xena's body in. "By the gods you are beautiful."
There was a knock at the door.
Xena pulled her robe closed.
"Yeah, you better protect my assets." She saw Xena wince. "I didn't mean it like that."
"I know. Its just going to take a while to get used to."
"Yeah."
Another knock.
"Gabrielle you have to get off of me if I'm going to see who that is."
"So?"
She rolled her over, kissing her softly before she sat up, pulling the covers over Gabrielle's body. "Come in."
Alana walked in, her eyes taking in the scene. She saw Gabrielle in the bed with a sheet wrapped around her and smiled. "Breakfast?" She sat the tray down.
"Thank you." Xena smiled and picked up a piece of fruit popping it into her mouth. She saw Alana just sitting there. "What?"
"Nothing."
"Then go." She waved her away.
Alana threw a smile to Gabrielle and walked out.
Xena felt arms wrap around her waist. "I take it you want some of this."
"Oh yeah."
"I meant the food."
"Oh." She grabbed a piece of jerky. "Does she always bring you finger food in the morning."
"No. But I think she should." She held a strawberry out and watched as Gabrielle took in into her mouth, her tongue touching Xena's fingers softly. "Good?"
"Yummy." She grabbed a robe.
"The games are today."
"Games?"
"You'll see." She popped a strawberry into her mouth and walked off.

Alana watched as Gabrielle exited her room. She was leaned against the wall.
"So?"
Gabrielle looked surprised. "Huh?"
"How did you get her to give in?"
"I followed my heart."
Alana nodded. "Good for you. Bout time someone has the guts." She turned and walked down the hall, feeling Gabrielle follow her.
"Alana."
"Yeah."
"Who else was in Xena's life? I mean its like she was afraid to lose control."
"A lot of people hurt her. There was one man that I think helped a bit."
"Who?"
Alana stopped and turned to her. "His name was Hercules."
"Does she know a lot of famous people?"
"A few."
"How did he help her?"
"He unchained her heart, after Ares had locked it up."
"Why didn't they stay together?"
"They were on different paths."
Gabrielle nodded. "Thank you."
"You're welcome."
Alana walked further down the hall and stopped as she made it to the library. A smile was on her face as she opened the door. Looking around, she saw that it was empty. A pink haze surrounded the room and once gone, a tall blonde remained. She ran a hand through her golden locks and smiled as she turned to the door. "Another great job." With a soft laugh, she twinkled out of the room.
