Part Six

Robyn’s heart skipped a beat at the mention of Camille’s name. She was confused at the same time; she thought that Camille was supposed to be Alex. But then again, nothing made sense at all.

“C’mon Camille…”Alex was saying. “Don’t you want to watch…huh? Watch me demonstrate why she belongs to me alone…”

But Camille remained silent and didn’t move one inch. She was unaware of what happened at all. She slowly stared at Robyn and then at Alex. “Where…how…”She murmured to herself, still trying to make sense of what happened just now.

“The Soul Amulet…” Alex held out the amulet she held earlier. “It separates two beings…two personalities apart.” She burned her evil eyes into Camille’s own gentle eyes.

“…I see.” Camille said. She was still dazed and not aware of her surroundings. One minute she was screamin’ words in Alex’s mind…driving her to insanity, then the next, she was her own person…in her own body. Alex was smiling smugly and crossed her arms rather cockily, while Camille looked around at her surroundings. It was indeed, the mansion she had been living in for a couple of years. Then she glanced at Robyn once again, there were bruises beginning to form on her neck and blood was trickling from somewhere on her head. Robyn had been crying for a while and Camille’s heart broke when she saw this battered and broken person before her. She tried to reach out to stroke the fine hairs on Robyn, but Alex growled and she quickly withdrew it.

“Alright…playtime’s over.” Alex said. “Guys…get her and throw her in another cell downstairs…next to Aries.” Her eyes gave off that cruel gleam and Robyn closed her eyes. Camille carefully stepped off the bed as the men surrounded her, “Get going wretch!” Riley hissed. She walked casually past a curtain and stopped. “Wha-what the…I said get going!” Riley attempted to shove Camille forward, but she stepped to the side and he missed. “Argh!”

“I don’t think so…” Camille said. “Just not yet…” And she suddenly pulled the curtains down, revealing the sun in all its glory. Rays shone through the entire room like water filling a room…

“NO!” Riley screamed in agony and the others began to wither in whirls of dust and flames. Monique screamed out as the sunlight touched her body as the others began to howl in pain. Alex stood frozen, her face twisted in pure hatred. Then she grabbed Robyn and threatened, “You better stay where you are…” She grabbed a handful of her blonde hair and jerked it back, exposing Robyn’s neck. Camille tensed up, knowing full what Alex intended to do. “Don’t do this.” Camille warned. But Alex just snickered, “You’re pathetic you know? Really…I’d think someone like me would be much less pathetic.”

Robyn whimpered in pain and terror. She was afraid of what Alex, who was now free of all consciences, would do to her. “You can watch me…turn her.” Alex said. Then slowly she turned to Robyn and whispered, “Mine.” And proceed to sink her long white fangs in the soft flesh of Robyn’s.

“I wouldn’t do that.” Camille stood fast, confident. “Trust me.”

Sighing and rolling her eyes, Alex turned to look at Camille. “Really? Why not? You’re no longer the annoying little bug in my head nagging me to insanity until I give up…”

“Because…” Camille drew out a knife from behind her. “You forgot when you used the amulet, the amulet gave me your exact body…and miscellaneous things you had on you. You had this hidden on your belt.”

“So?” Alex raised an eyebrow. “So? You can’t kill me with that. I’m Immortal and I’m too far away from you anyway.”

“Wrong.” Camille smiled. “Whatever happens to me…because I am you; happens to you.”

With that, Alex’s smug face fell. No, it couldn’t be right, Alex thought frantically. Camille was lying…yes, that’s it, and Camille was lying. Alex shot a glance on Robyn, “You’re lying. And there’s nothing you can do about Robyn now.”

“Oh really?” Camille raised the dagger and slashed her right arm. Suddenly, Alex cried out in pain, her right arm was bleeding profusely and there was a long cut in her arm. She released Robyn suddenly, grasping her right arm in pain. “Care to say that again?” Camille walked towards Robyn; carefully slashing herself in parts where she knew would hurt Alex the most. Finally as she got close to Robyn, she slashed her knees, causing Alex to fall onto her bloody knees…fully handicapped.

“…Robyn? Can you hear me?” She knelt over Robyn. “Robyn??”

“It’s too late…” Alex was laughing like a madwoman. “I took her. I broke her.”

“No you didn’t.” Camille ignored Alex, and tried to shake the blonde. “C’mon…”

Robyn felt herself being shaken gently. Then she heard the words, the voice…it couldn’t be Camille…could it? “C-Camille?” She whispered weakly. “Is…is that you?”

“Yes…it’s me. I’m here now.” Camille held Robyn’s head in her hands. Tears were falling from both of them, and they cried in joy. Alex rolled her eyes at the two but she remained intact on the floor for Camille had broken Alex’s knees by slashing her own knees.

Robyn tried to sit up but with great difficulty. The pains that Alex had inflicted were still fresh and Camille gently helped her onto her butt. “…I’m so sorry…” She said sadly. “If only we never met…”

“Camille…stop. I don’t regret the day we met…” Robyn interrupted. “I had…I know I had a feeling this would happen one day. I would find the other soul…the other half…my soul mate.”

        “Robyn…”

“Hush…baby.” Robyn smiled weakly. “I…I didn’t realize this at first…but, let me say this…I…I think I love you.”

“Oh Robyn…” Camille’s eyes filled with tears. “I love you too. With all my heart and soul…That book you wrote…it greatly touched me. I believe that this book’s destiny was to lead you to me…”

Alex scoffed loudly, “Geez, get a room…I can’t believe it…my human side is so mushy…” Camille shot a cold look at Alex and slowly she turned to face the evil Alex. “I am…what Alex should have had been…I am Alex…the human.” She said slowly. Robyn nodded, “I understand…”

“You ain’t got the power to kill me…” Alex taunted. “C’mon…you’re just a fraud…this crap with Robyn…oh please…” She attempted to crawl towards Robyn. “Heh, I’m still stronger. I’m gonna kill ‘er and there’s nothing you can do about it…”

Camille realized the only way possible to stop Alex would be a very difficult step she would have to take for the sake of Robyn. Camille slowly took Robyn’s hand in her own, “…I love you always. Please…don’t cry. I have to do this. I have to end it now.”

“W-What?” Robyn was confused. Alex inched closer to her, knife in hand, laughing like a clown. “Heh heh! I’ll kill you…I’ll kill y’all!”

Camille reached in from under the bed and pulled out a wooden stake. Alex stopped abruptly and stared at the piece of wood in Camille’s hands. “W-what…no!” Robyn realized what Camille was trying to do. “No!”

Alex was stunned and frozen on the spot. She let out an utter of disbelief; Camille was willing to kill herself just to kill Alex? Camille actually had the nerves to do that?? “No!” Alex whispered as the cold truth began to dawn on her.

“I’m sorry…” Camille replied sorrowfully. “I’m sorry. This is for your sake and the world’s.” And with these words, she drove the wooden stake into her heart. Suddenly, whirls of dust and smoke began to swirl around both Camille and Alex. Then starting from the toes, they began to disintegrate into the air.

“NOOOOO!” Alex screamed in agony as she watched herself disintegrate into nothing. “NO! NO!”

“NO!” Robyn cried out. Camille turned to look at Robyn with one final smile. As her chest began to disintegrate, she smiled with that dazzling smile of hers and whispered, “I love you…” and slowly she leaned in for one final kiss, just before her entire body vanished into thin air. Robyn leaned back; blinking…not believing what had just happened. She had just finally gotten to see Camille once again, and now…Camille was gone…forever. Slowly, she dissolved in tears and cried into the night. Her fingers traced her lips, where Camille had kissed her. Camille…She thought, “No…” Camille was really gone…

     Camille…

EPILOGUE

Robyn slowly took the Soul Dagger out of a small wooden box that Alex kept in her room. Here she held the sword that caused everything to turn sour…here was the cause of all the misery she suffered by Alex. The dagger gleamed in her hands…and shone ever so brightly.

Then she walked down to the cells where Aries was locked in. Carrying the dagger behind her, she unlocked the cell. Upon hearing the jingle of the keys, Aries glanced up. Seeing that it was Robyn he crooked an eyebrow and mumbled, “Here comes the bitch…”

“…You’d better mind your mouth.” She said coldly. He just leaned back, ignoring her. Robyn then pulled the Soul Dagger from behind and drove it into Aries’ chest. He uttered a cry of surprise as bright golden light flooded through the room. The blinding light became so immense that Robyn shielded her eyes and took a step backwards, accidentally tripping over something and falling back on her back. Then suddenly, the light vanished and there stood Aries with the Soul Dagger still in his chest. He extended an arm to Robyn, “…Thank you so much Robyn! I’m Troy…at least, that’s who I was before I got changed to Aries. Thank you so much for turning me back from that monster, Aries.”

“No problem.” She said, with a hint of sadness, remembering Camille. “…All this happened, and with everything that’s happened…made me rethink about life. Life is so precious you should savor every moment…but somehow, we must walk out of here…bearing the burden of knowledge…of this.”

“Yeah…” Troy hung his head. “Somehow we’ll make it…someday we will share this knowledge…” They walked out of the room, out of the mansion and to the front yard. She stopped right before the gates and Troy stopped too.

“Yet…somehow…life goes on, doesn’t it?” Robyn turned a final look at the Mansion, “Somehow it will. I’ll never forget you Camille…and uh, by the way, that was my first kiss.”
