Part 2 (Conclusion)

     -Shopping-

Tina and Reno made their way through the super store. They’d just finished shopping. Reno said, "Wait! Where’s the mush isle?"

Tina questioned, "Mush isle?"

"Yah. Where they have the cards and flowers and chocolate." Reno figured everyone called it that. Obviously she was wrong.

"This way," Tina told her, "Something for Scottie?" Reno merely smiled and nodded.

They reached the isle and Reno’s face lit up. She picked up about a dozen candles. They were various shapes, sizes, and colors. She picked up two-dozen roses and was satisfied. She nodded to Tina, "Think she’ll like them?"

They headed to the checkout line, "If they came from you, yes." They paid for their purchases and headed back to Argo.

Reno popped in a CD and cranked up the volume. Echoing through the truck was the sound of Kiss:

    "I got a letter just the other day

    She sent a picture but she didn’t sign her name

    She wore high heels and a little black lace

    I knew her body but I couldn’t see her face

    She didn’t leave a number- not an address or a clue

    But something in that photograph reminded me of you!

Tina turned it off. She looked at Reno and stated, "What the hell does she see in you!?"

"Excuse me?" Reno was slightly unhappy. The little lemon tart turned her music off!

"You’re a pervert! That’s got to be the most vile song I have ever heard!" Tina was yelling. Scottie and she had been friends, but lately it was like they didn’t even know each other. Tina didn’t mind Reno, but she was just so sexual it made her crazy.

Reno asked, "How bout’ ‘I wanna fuck you like an animal...’ or then there’s ‘I’m horny! Horny, horny, horny tonight...’ or the ever classic, ‘Rape me..." Tina was a petulant pain in the ass. Reno liked the fact she had balls, however.

Tina shouted, "Enough!"

Reno smiled as she cranked the stereo back up. She mumbled, "Knew you’d see it my way."

Tina was glad to get out of the truck. She had to laugh as Reno ran into the cabin to hide her goodies. It seemed to her that Scottie had that woman wound so tightly around her pinkie finger she’d explode. It was a very amusing thing indeed.

     -Dinner-

"Can I have someone to lower the flag?" Brett asked. The camp had gathered around the flag pole to bring the flag down.

Almost all of the kids raised their hands. Reno did also; she began jumping up and down pleading, "Me! Me! Me!"

Brett and the other counselors had to laugh. Most of them attended the same school, and very rarely did they see Reno in this form. Brett said, "Okay Reno...since it is your birthday and all! Pick a counselor!"

Reno chuckled and walked to the center of the triangle. She gave a look of pondering, "Scottie."

Rusty called out, "Big surprise there!"

Scottie walked to Reno shaking her head. She asked, "Birthday?" Scottie was playing dumb.

"Danny ratted me out." Reno admitted.

They lowered the flag together and began folding it up. After it was all was done, Reno handed Brett the flag. Reno and Scottie headed to the mess hall. Scottie trailing slightly behind, ran and jumped on Reno’s back. Reno caught her and laughed; Scottie locked her legs around Reno’s waist. She whispered in Reno’s ear, "You’ll be getting your present later."

Reno asked, "Can you guarantee I’ll like it?"

Scottie quoted from her favorite movie, "Tommy Boy." She said, "I can shit in a box and put a sticker on it that says guaranteed. And then what have you got? A guaranteed piece of shit!"

Reno laughed and made a detour into the staff lounge; she closed the door. Scottie jumped down and found herself pressed against the door. Reno leaned in and placed an intense kiss on her lips. Scottie’s arms locked around Reno’s neck; Reno’s hands on Scottie’s hips pulling her closer. When lack of oxygen finally kicked in they pulled apart. Reno rested her forehead against Scottie’s. She smiled and said, "I missed you today."

Scottie smiled back, "I can promise you’ll appreciate the effort, Re. But I can’t promise you’ll like it." She had never been with a woman before and she didn’t know that she could please Reno. Unsure eyes locked with two understanding ones.

Reno turned their embrace into a comforting hug. She told Scottie, "Sweetheart, I’ll love it. I love everything about you, and don’t forget that." She smoothed some of Scottie’s hair down as her head rested on her chest.

"I won’t. We need to get to dinner though." Scottie was in loath to break the embrace, but she was getting very hungry.

Reno laughed, "Yeah, feeding time. Better get you food or you might eat me!"

Scottie laughed and grabbed Reno’s hand. She said, "No that’s later!"

Reno shook her head, "Promises..."

Tina looked at Reno and Scottie as they sat down. Scottie had three cheeseburgers on her plate and a ton of fries. Not to mention a bottle of Pepsi. Reno had bowl of chicken noodle soup and a quart of milk. They certainly were an odd pair. Tina snapped at them, "You’re late!"

Scottie shrugged as she swallowed a piece of burger. "Someone needed a hug."

Reno gulped her milk straight out of the carton and asked, "You want one too?"

Tina replied, "No!"

Reno got up and rounded the table to Tina. She leaned forward and gave her a big hug. She laughed, "It’s okay. I love you too huggie bear!"

The table burst into laughter as Tina shrugged Reno off of her. She snapped, "Get off!"

Janie bit her bottom lip. She stated, "Now is not the time or the place!"

The counselors at the table all chuckled, including Tina. One of the campers spoke up, "Now what are you laughing at?" It was Beth, again.

Reno took her seat and shrugged, "Nothing."

Scottie shook her head and stood up, "This." She walked to the center of the mess hall and yelled out, "Okay guys, we have a birthday!"

The kids and counselors shouted out, "Who’s!?" They all loved it when Scottie rallied them for the birthday customs. Since she’d become a counselor she had gotten birthday duty. When a counselor had a birthday she organized events and such things. Scottie was one of the few favorite counselors, of both the kids and their parents.

"Reno’s! You guys all ready to sing!?" She asked. The response was a series of whoops and yeahs!

The entire mess hall began singing, "Happy birthday to you! Happy birthday to you! Happy birthday dear Reno! Happy birthday to you!"

Scottie called out, "SKIP!"

The kids and counselors began shouting, "Skip! Skip! Skip!"

Reno laughed as Scottie hauled her to her feet and skipped with her around the room. She was having a great time, especially with Scottie by her side. When the noise died down Scottie got called out, "Night activity is Birthday night! Everyone needs to be in the Rec. hall by six-thirty!" She went and took her seat.

"You knew?" Reno asked.

"When you left this morning, Danny told me." She bit into her second burger and chewed happily.

Reno rested her hand on Scottie’s thigh and smiled. There was so much she wanted to say; yet she couldn’t. She vowed to herself she would, tonight. Her smile grew wider as she felt Scottie’s hand rest on top of hers.

     -Night Activity-

"Cake eating contest?!" Reno asked loudly. Her face was lit up like a small child. "I wanna play!"

Scottie laughed, "Of course you do. Come on, I’m gonna whip your ass."

They headed toward the table of waiting competitors. Reno responded, "Of course you are!"

They took their seats and Janie called out, "Ya’ll know the rules! No hands! When I say go, you go!" They all got ready and Janie shouted go!

They all dove into their cake. Reno and Scottie were laughing to hard to eat. They kept glancing over at each other; their eyes met and they both laughed hysterically. Janie loved this side of Reno; however much she saw of it. The contest ended, one of the kids won. Reno and Scottie just sat smearing more cake all over each other. "NOW!" Scottie called. All the counselors came running out of the Rec. hall with cream pies. Barrages of them were hurled at Reno: she was covered. Scottie tried to move but Reno held her still. By the end of the fight they were both covered eyes to heels.

"I’m gonna get you for this!" Reno laughed. Scottie and Reno sat on the cabin stairs still covered in cream. The girls were filtering out of the cabin getting ready to go back to their tents. Night activity had been a success. The last of the girls got out of the cabin followed by Janie and Tina.

"See you guys around midnight." Janie called over her shoulder.

Reno and Scottie went into the cabin, "We shower, and then I have a surprise for you." Reno smirked and licked some cream from Scottie’s cheek.

Scottie pulled off her clothes, "You come with me!"

Reno wasn’t arguing, "Okay!" She stripped her clothes and fifteen minutes later they were showered and in their pajamas.

     -For the One...-

Reno was beaming! She walked to her dresser and pulled out a rose and a blindfold. "For you. Just not half as beautiful."

Scottie took the rose then placed a kiss on Reno’s temple. She told her, "You’re not that bad to look at yourself."

Reno laughed and put the blindfold over her eyes, "I’ll guide you. Trust me."

Scottie ran her hand down Reno’s cheek, "Never trusted anyone more."

Reno guided Scottie down the path and to the spot. She told Scottie, "A minute longer." She ran quickly lighting all the candles. She placed them in various spots on rocks. She scattered the roses around the blanket, leaving a perfect one in the center. Reno moved behind Scottie and wrapped her arms around her waist. She whispered softly, "Okay sweetie. Now."

Scottie removed the blindfold and was speechless. The sun had just set, the sky was an amber color. The candles placed around were illuminating the small clearing and the roses were just too much. She turned in Reno’s arms kissing her gently. Reno felt her smile as their lips met. Scottie whispered, "I think I’m in love."

Reno backed her to the blanket and eased her down. "With who?"

Scottie looked into Reno’s eyes, "The most wonderful, beautiful, and incredible person I have ever met. Only she’s more than that; I just haven’t the words to describe the rest. Only one...you."

"I love you, Scottie." Reno said. She couldn’t say anything else; she didn’t have to.

Scottie began kissing Reno’s face and neck. Reno rolled them over, giving Scottie complete control. Scottie was more than happy to take it. For the next twenty minutes two naked bodies were joined as one, through and expression of simple pure love. They shared long passionate kisses, and short reassuring kisses. Every caress was gentle, and loving. Every word spoken was in love.

"Reno...show me?" Scottie asked. Reno smiled up at her. Scottie asked again, "Show me what it’s like to feel it. Re, I want you to touch me."

Reno flipped them over, "Everything?" she asked as she started running her tongue over Scottie’s nipple.

Scottie’s breath was caught in her throat. She finally was able to let out a moan, "Everything, Re!" Reno showed her everything. Scottie showed Reno what it was like to be loved in return. Not just physically loved, but emotionally at the same time. They were both soaring higher than they ever imagined. Hours later, nothing else mattered.

    -Angelic Commentary-

"They said it!" The little blonde squealed.

The raven-haired angel kisses her partners head, "That they did. Looks like they did it to."

Green eyes asked, "Don’t you think about anything else?"

"Yes. You." Blue eyes responded.

Reno and Scottie cleaned up and went to their tent. Reno was on her back; Scottie’s head resting on her chest. Scottie was drawing lazy circles on Reno’s stomach, while Reno was content just to place small kisses anywhere she could. "I love you." Scottie mumbled as she fell asleep.

"I love you too...." Reno said as she too slipped into sleep.

     -Day Four-

Reno was awake and smiling. Scottie had managed to roll on top of her and fall asleep. Yesterday had been a long day! Weekly activity had been the Olympics, with a twist. Water, food, shaving cream and other strange things were all included. Scottie stirred; slowly her eyes opened. She whispered, "Mornin’ baby."

Reno was about to reply when she heard something running toward their tent. "Re! Reno!? Can I come in?" It was Danny and he didn’t sound happy.

"Yah!" Reno called out, as Scottie rolled off of her.

Danny stepped into the tent. His eyes were red and puffy, as he’d obviously been crying. He said, "Reno, I’ve got some bad news..."

Reno sat up quickly, "What!?"

Danny sniffled again, "Ephiny... they found her last night..." Danny wiped a tear from his eye. Ephiny was his oldest brother’s daughter. Between her and Reno, they were his favorite.

Reno asked, "Found her? She wasn’t gone!"

"She had too much in her, she went driving. The car crashed and she died, Re." Danny explained.

Reno sat there with a blank look on her face. "I need to go home?"

Danny shook his head, "Nothing will be done for two weeks, they have a lot to do. Your dad wants you here, not home."

Reno nodded, "Okay..." Danny shook his head, and stalked out of the tent. He knew better than to get in Reno’s way now. They’d talk later.

Scottie looked over. Reno laid down and rested her head in Scottie’s lap. Scottie told her, "Everything’s gonna be alright..."

Reno began to tremble. Tears rolled down her cheeks, as she tried to stifle the sobs. The sound brought Janie in, who’d been awake for some time. She asked, "What happened?"

Scottie continued rubbing Reno’s back. She said, "Eph’s dead, Janie."

Janie was in shock. Eph and she had been pretty close; very close. They had dated for a while and broke off as friends. She stood with tears dripping from her eyes, "I think I need some air..." She turned and left the tent, quickly.

Reno got up and quickly pulled on her boots; she bolted out the back of the tent. She didn’t say a word, just ran. She ran until she was tired and finally sat under a tree.  Her mind was racing and she was crying. She sat and cried until she fell asleep.

     -Later in the Day-

First period was in over; Reno made her way back to her class. She appeared in the clearing; and caught sight of Scottie and Rusty chatting. She sauntered over and spoke softly, "Scottie?"

Scottie turned around, "Re? Come here baby." Reno closed the gap between Scottie and herself. She leaned into Scottie, resting her head on Scottie’s shoulder. Scottie held Reno close, "It’s alright sweetheart. I’m here."

Rusty felt like he was invading so he left.

Reno clung Scottie like she was a life line. She began crying again, "Scottie...I...Scottie..." She couldn’t say anything else.

Scottie lead her the back way through the woods. They walked for about five minutes and made it to the tents. Scottie pulled Reno into theirs and sat her down on the edge of their beds. She said, "Calm down, baby. I’m here."

Reno felt stupid. She was Reno Newlander, she didn’t cry! She looked at Scottie, "Hold me?"

Scottie got up onto the bed and leaned back. Reno slid into Scottie’s arms; she felt safe. Scottie reassured her, "Hey, everything’s gonna be alright. You’ll see."

Reno tried to smile, but she couldn’t. She said, "As long as I have you with me, everything will always be alright." She took Scottie’s lower lip between her own.

Scottie relished the contact. To her that mean more than anything ever could. She placed a soft kiss on Reno’s lips, "You’re everything I knew you would be."

Reno began crying again; she was in emotional overload. She looked at Scottie and whispered, "You’re more than I ever gave you credit for being."

"I know" she said. She and Reno spent the next hour and a half curled in each others arms. Sex at the moment wasn’t important to either of them. All that mattered was them being together. Small kisses were exchanged, along with deep passionate ones. Reno felt Scottie would make everything alright.

    -Angelic Commentary-

Blue eyes smiled, "She’s definitely everything you were."

"And Reno’s more sensitive than you were." Green eyes laughed back.

"Xe...I think our work here is done for now."

"I think you’re right Gabrielle. But I’m not leaving them too long; you know how things tend to come up."

Gabrielle laughed, "You’re right."

"I know." Laughed Xena.

    -Mourning-

Reno found Janie on her board in the cabin. She climbed up and laid down next to her friend. "Want some company?" she asked.

"She used to sing to me, ya know?" Janie asked.

"Yah, that song... ‘Janie don’t you take your love to town...’ I remember well. We used to do that think from ‘Animal House’ too." Reno said.

Janie rolled onto her side, "Yah, we’d line up with beer and sing, ‘Louie Louie.’ Talked to Danny, it was heroine and acid. She mixed it with vodka."

Reno shook her head, "I’m gonna miss her, Janie." Reno wiped a tear from her eye.

"Me too, Re. She was my best friend, and my first lover. How the hell do I deal with it?" Janie asked.

"I don’t know. She was my cousin, my best friend, she always had my back." Reno’s phone rang she grabbed it from her back pocket. She flipped it open, "What...Yah Leta, Danny told me and J... I know, I’ll be home as scheduled....I know...Look I need you to take over for the next few days...Yah, have Jax help you...Alright, bye Le."

Janie smiled a bit, "I’d have loved to see her face. Ya know if she saw you covered in cake and cream."

Reno laughed a little, "I told her about me and Scottie. She was happy I finally found someone for me. She started singing that song at me... the one I hate."

"What one is that?" Janie asked. A tinge of sarcasm was present. She finished, "Thank God it was only one or we’d be here all night!"

Reno flipped to her stomach, "That one that goes, ‘Hey life! Look at me! I can see the Reality! Cos when you shook me, took me, out of my world, I woke up to the happening!’ Diana Ross."

Janie began giggling, "She sucks. I always said Ephie needed better taste in music. I got her a Melissa Etheridge CD once. She threw it at me."

Reno laughed, "I was there."

They spent the rest of their time remembering the past. It was time for dinner and Janie and Reno headed for the flag pole. They were late so they quietly took their places. Brett asked for a volunteer, he picked Mason. Mason chose Reno to help her. Dinner, all the girls were very well behaved; they hadn’t seen Reno or Janie all day.

    -Truth or Dare-

Tina and Janie had off tonight; Scottie and Reno were with the girls tonight. "Reno, we wanna play a game!" Julie said.

Mandy agreed, "Yah! Tina always makes us go to bed!"

Shelly and Ally, the twins added, "Yah!"

Reno looked at Scottie and asked, "What do you want to play?"

Neal smirked, "Truth or Dare!"

"Yah!" Beth agreed

Lena laughed, "I wanna play that."

Scottie looked at Reno, "If that’s what they wanna play..." Reno nodded, "Then play!"

Michelle shook her head, "You two have to play with us!"

"Oookay!" Reno and Scottie said together.

"Dare!" Reno said.

Shelly thought a minute, "I dare you to kiss Scottie!"

Reno and Scottie looked at each other; Mason stifled a laugh. Mason knew about them, she was smarter than people thought. "Dare taken." Reno said. She leaned over and quickly kissed Scottie on the lips.

Giggles erupted from the girls. "Gross!" Neal said.

Lena shook her head, "My sister and her girlfriend do that all the time!"

Everyone else laughed. Reno said, "My turn. Scottie truth or dare?"

Scottie blushed, "Truth..."

"Wimp!" Julie called out.

"Fine! Dare!" Scottie said.

Reno leaned over and whispered in Scottie’s ear, "I dare you to take me to the tent and..."

Scottie cut her off, "Truth!" she yelled out.

Reno shrugged, "Do you have a boyfriend?"

Mason snorted, "Yah do ya?"

Scottie looked at the sky. She thought, "Reno is going to pay for this! I’ll at least take her up on the dare later...Hehe happy Scottie!"

"Come one Scottie, tell us!" Ally pleaded.

"Yah, we wanna know!" Neal added in.

Scottie smirked, "Yes, I have a boyfriend."

Reno scrunched her nose and thought, "She’s gonna pay for this one...in more ways than just one." She asked, "Name, age, and what does he look like?"

Scottie glared, "His name is Charlie, he’s twenty-two. He has dark hair, light eyes and a body to die for." She grinned at Reno, "Mason! Truth or dare?"

Mason looked nervous, "Dare."

Scottie couldn’t think of a dare so she looked at Reno. Reno whispered in her ear and she smiled. "Mason, I dare you to go with Reno."

Mason looked really scared, "Okay..." she got up and she and Reno headed down the path.

    -Hanky Pranky!-

Reno and Mason headed up the trail, "What are we doin', Re?" Mason asked

"Beating Scottie at her own game." She sniggered.

"Uh-oh.’ Mason commented, ‘You like her a lot don’t ya?"

Reno nodded, "Yah but that’s between you and me, okay?"

"Definitely! I’d never tell!" Mason swore as they reached the cabin. They opened the door and headed toward Scottie’s trunk. "Re?"

Reno smiled and opened the lid. She pulled out an emerald green thong and matching bra. "Up they go!" she laughed.

"Score!" Mason laughed.

Mason and Reno reached the flagpole. Danny came up the hill and flashed a light on them, "Re? What are you doing? Lights out!"

Reno laughed, "Pay backs, Unc. Mason here is my accomplice."

"And what are you two trying to accomplish?" Danny asked, slightly amused.

Reno held up the thong and bra, "They are going for a ride..."

Mason laughed, "They’re Scottie’s."

Danny burst out laughing, "We haven’t had one of these in a while. Continue Reno. Just remember, if you end up in the dog house..."

Reno laughed as she clipped the prized garments to the pole. She pulled them up and Mason tied it. Reno turned to Danny, "I won’t. She loves me!"

Danny slapped Reno’s behind, "Bed!"

"Gladly!" Reno shot back.

    -The Dark-

"You my dear, are evil." Scottie said. She was referring to her truth and dare.

"You have no idea!" Reno laughed, she leaned over and traced Scottie’s lips with her tongue. Scottie opened her mouth a bit; Reno took it as an invitation. She pressed her lips into Scottie’s running her tongue over Scottie’s.

Scottie wasn’t protesting, she pushed Reno back on the bed. Her hand slid down Reno’s stomach and into her sweat pants. As she worked her magic she felt Reno returning the favor. Neither of them dared to break their lip lock. Waking the girls up with their screaming wasn’t on their list of priorities. Together they fell into motion riding harder to meet their impending fate. Climax. Reno let go first; her body wracked with tremors and she pumped Scottie harder. Scottie let it go and kept grinding against Reno. She came a second time. She wasn’t able to stifle a moan, "Reno..."

Reno captured her lips once again. She wasn’t too happy when Scottie pulled back, "Something I did?"

"No.’ Scottie slid down Reno’s body, taking her pants with her. She said, ‘No noise, or I stop."

Reno sat up a bit, in shock. Between she and Scottie this was a first. She knew Scottie had never done this part before, and she wanted to see it. She felt Scottie all over her and no matter what she wouldn’t make a sound, "Can I hum? Please??" She had to do some thing.

Scottie looked up, "Yah..." She continued her ministrations trying hard not to laugh at Reno.

Reno was clutching the sleeping bag beneath her humming away. She tried not to make any other sounds. "Hmm hmm hmm hmmhmm hmmhmm hmmhmmmhm, hm, hmm hmm hmm hmm hmm..."

Tina and Janie walked past Reno and Scottie’s tent; Janie started cracking up. She turned to Tina and said, "We’re gonna have to have a long talk tomorrow."

Tina nodded her head and laughed harder than she’d ever laughed before. "That’s just too much! In a way appropriate."  They heard Reno’s humming get a little louder and finally stop.

Janie and Tina walked into their tent still laughing.

"Scottie, are you sure you never did that before?" Reno asked. She sleepily grinned.

"Yup. But I have to ask you a question." Scottie said.

"Shoot, baby." Reno replied.

Scottie began laughing, "I didn’t think you meant hum a song! On top of that, of all the songs to hum, why did you pick ‘Yellow Submarine’!?"

Reno laughed, "Dunno. But it seemed appropriate, with you deep sea diving and all!"

Scottie shook her head and curled up against Reno. Reno gave her one last kiss; Scottie groaned in pleasure. "Keep doin that, and we’ll never sleep."

"I can think of other things I’d rather be doing. Scott, you’re amazing."

Scottie’s eyes closed, "Not...so bad...yourself." They both drifted to sleep.

     -Day Five-

    -The Bloody Morning After-

Reno, Scottie, Tina and Janie were trailing the girls back to the cabin. Janie looked and Reno then at Tina. Tina and Janie began singing, "We all live in a yellow submarine! A yellow submarine! A yellow submarine! We all live..."

Reno growled, "Enough! I get your point."

Scottie was about a hundred shades of red, "Morning." She grumbled.

They reached the clearing and saw the camp gathered around the flagpole. "It’s early for morning flagpole.." Tina pointed out.

Janie squinted, "Something’s on it."

Reno looked all sly, "I know."

They approached and Scottie recognized her thong and bra on the pole. She turned even redder as she yelled, "Chelsea Newlander!"

"Hi sweetheart." Reno said scratching her head.

"Reno if you know what’s good for you, you’ll go collect my underwear of that fucking pole!" Scottie yelled.

"And if I don’t?" she asked.

"Then we’ll both be keeping out underwear on for the next few days!" Scottie growled.

Reno’s brow shot up, "Right back." She reached the flag pole and noticed that someone had cut the rope. Scottie’s underwear were stuck at the top of the flagpole!

Scottie crept up behind Reno, "What are you waiting for?"

Reno looked down, "Someone cut the rope...’ Scottie glared, ‘I’m climbing!"

Twenty minutes later Reno slid down the pole. In her hands were Scottie’s underwear, "Happy now?"

"Very!" Scottie replied! They headed back to the cabin to shower and whatever else they could. Scottie wasn’t upset about her underwear; Reno climbing the flagpole, however made her nervous. Scottie wrapped her arms around Reno’s neck as soon as they got in the cabin. "Don’t ever do that again."

"Do what?" Reno asked, as she pulled Scottie against her. She wasn’t quite sure what she did to get her girl this worked up.

Scottie looked into Reno’s eyes. Her own filled with worry and fear, "Do anything stupid like climbing a ninety foot pole! I didn’t think you’d climb it!" she said.

"Baby, I wouldn’t have tried if I didn’t know I could. But if it makes you feel better I won’t do it again." She leaned down and kissed Scottie’s lower lip.

Janie ran up the steps and into the cabin, "Break it up you two, Neal is coming in here any second. She’s crying and she wants to talk to Scottie!"

Reno grumbled, "I wanna talk to Scottie."

Janie laughed, "If that’s what you call it. Reno get up on the board!" Janie climbed up. After kissing Scottie’s cheek Reno climbed up after her.

Neal ran into the cabin, tears rolling down her cheeks. "Scottie! I’m dying!" she called.

Scottie looked up out of her trunk and at Neal, "What?" she walked over to the girl and put a hand on her shoulder.

"There’s..." She blushed and looked at the floor. "There’s blood in my underwear." she finished.

Reno and Janie looked at each other and tried not to laugh. Reno put her hand over Janie’s mouth; Janie covered Reno’s. Reno thought, "God, and I thought I had it bad!"

Scottie heard Reno and Janie laughing. She was glad Neal was too preoccupied with her condition to hear them. Scottie kneeled in front of Neal, "You’re not gonna die. You got your period, all girls get it. It’s quite easy to fix, come on." Scottie lead her to the bathroom to get her the necessary equipment. A few minutes later Neal sauntered out of the cabin looking a tad unhappy. Scottie looked up as the two counselors broke into peels of laughter.

"Oh shit! That was hilarious!" Janie stammered through giggles.

Reno threw back her head, "I’m gonna die!" She climbed down from the board, Janie following.

Scottie started giggling, "We should go to breakfast."

Janie shook her head, "Meet ya there." She made an exit, figuring they’d want sometime alone.

Reno picked up Scottie, who wrapped her legs around her waist. Reno walked to a cot and sat down, "I love you, Scottie."

"Why?" Scottie asked. It was a question that just came out. She rested her head on Reno’s shoulder and moved a hand to the back of her head. She began running her fingers through the raven colored hair.

"Because I think I always have, and I know I always will. Because you’re wonderful, and beautiful, and you’re mine." She kissed Scottie’s cheek, "Mine," She touched Scottie’s back, "Mine" She then put a hand between them and touch Scottie’s heart, "Mine. And baby believe me, all of me is yours."

Scottie picked up her head, "Reno. You’re not just saying that?"

"No! I mean it! Scottie, I never said I love you to anyone before, and I have said it to you! That will never change!" Reno was confused, she looked Scottie in the eye and said, "I love you, Eileen."

"I love you, Chelsea." Scottie said as she pressed her lips into Reno’s. Reno opened her mouth and let Scottie in, Scottie took full advantage if the situation. She grabbed both of Reno’s hands in her own, their fingers intertwined between them. She finally pulled back, and was met with an assault of small kisses, which she gladly returned.

"We need to go to breakfast..." Reno said.

Scottie nodded, "I want you here after first period; I have plans for you."

"Don’t need to tell me twice. What have you got in mind, Scuba Steve?" Reno exclaimed as they headed down to the mess hall.

"Scuba Steve?" Scottie asked.

"Yah, you’re operating the Yellow Submarine." Reno told her as the entered the mess hall.

Most of the kids were leaving with the junior counselors. Reno and Scottie collected their breakfast food and sat at a table with Brett, Rusty and a counselor called Rick. "Hey you two." Brett said.

Scottie took a bite of pancake and smiled, "Hi."

Reno gulped down some coffee and took a bite of her grapenuts. She nodded, "How you guys doin?"

Rick smiled at Scottie, "Very well. How bout you?" Rick didn’t have a clue about Scottie and Reno, he just knew he’d always had a thing for her.

Scottie smiled at Reno, "Just fine..." She began to hum the "Yellow Submarine".

Brett and Rusty laughed and joined in. Janie had told them about it earlier; they couldn’t let this one go. Reno blushed, "Can’t anyone shut up? Besides you didn’t hear my side of it!"

Scottie cocked an eyebrow, "You have a side? I’m all ears."

Reno narrowed her eyes, "Not ALL ears. And yes I have a side. She said I couldn’t talk, so I asked if I could hum. She said yes, so I hummed. You’d have to make noise too, and you know it!"

Scottie looked at Brett, "She’s got a point Chimpy!"

"Hey that’s...ugh...yah! You’re right." Brett admitted. He shook his head, "Never heard Scottie make any noise."

Reno laughed, "Then we’re not talking about the same Scottie. She can’t keep quiet a second."

Brett opened his mouth, but Rick interrupted, "Why does she know about Scottie in bed?"

Rusty rolled his eyes, "Cos that’s where they spend all their free time!"

Rick looked between the two of them. He asked, "You mean the sleep a lot?"

Brett shook his head in the negative, "No they sleep a little; they fuck a lot." He and Rusty began laughing, Reno and Scottie nodded in agreement.

Rick didn’t want to belive this, "So they take guys home, have sex with them, then fall sleep after the guys leave. Right?" His Scottie would never be with a woman, nevermind Reno!

Rusty was about to answer when Reno smirked, "No, we have sex with each other." She leaned over and kissed Scottie’s cheek.

"She’s lying?" Rick questioned.

Scottie rolled her eyes, "What have I gotta do to prove she isn’t?"

Rick smirked, thinking Scottie wouldn’t, "Kiss her."

Reno growled, "I just kissed her!"

Rick shook his head, "Not that kinda kiss..." Neither of them had the balls to kiss. He thought, "She won’t. Neither of them will!"

Scottie growled at him, "You mean this kinda kiss?" She grabbed Reno’s face and pulled her in. Their lips met, and their mouths opened. Reno’s hands drifted to the sides of Scottie’s breasts, while Scottie’s hands tangled in her hair.

"Holy shit!" Rick yelled. He was completely repulsed.

"Holy shit!" Rusty and Brett yelled. They were completely aroused.

Danny sneaked up on them and made a face. He was holding a bucket of cold water, and grinning evilly. Seeing his niece make out with her girl wasn’t on his list of things to do for the day. He dumped the water on top of them, and jumped back. Reno and Scottie pulled apart, "Holy shit!" they yelled together.

Danny asked, "You two finished?"

"No." Reno grumbled as she wrung out her hair.

"Oh well, you have an hour for that later. Re, I need you to DJ the dance tomorrow." Danny said.

"Well ya sure got a hella way asking!" Reno snorted, "I’ll do it."

"Thanks, I’ll get the equipment set up tonight." Danny said as he jogged back to the office.

Reno grinned and pulled Scottie into her lap, "We’re skipping planning period today." Scottie’s reply was a quick kiss on the lips.

Rick jumped up and stormed out of the mess hall, "Did I mention he has a crush on Scottie?" Brett asked.

     -Day Six-

     -Let’s Dance-

The day passed smoothly, it was now 7:00 PM and all the kids were running to get ready for the dance. Scottie and Reno were looking forward to their last night off together. Tomorrow they’d be leaving, back home and back to school the day after that.  Although the counselors were supposed to get dressed up for the last dance Scottie opted for clean jeans and a white silk blouse. Reno, on the other hand, wore a black tank top and black jeans.

All the kids sat on the floor around Reno and her equipment. "Okay, before we dance there are some rules." She laughed as the kids all groaned. "Are you finished? Yes? Good! Now my girls and Brett’s boys... I realize you’re all dating each other, but keep it clean. No moshing, or slam dancing. Rick, stay away from you know who! It’s not gonna happen!" Janie, Scottie, Tina, Brett and Rusty began laughing at Rick. "Now have fun...cept Rick!"

All through the evening Reno kept glancing at Scottie. She wanted nothing more than to just dance with her; hold her. She knew she couldn’t, but she also knew that now they had all the time in the world.

Scottie looked over at Reno, noticing Reno had been staring at her for a better part of the night. She walked across the rec. hall and up behind the table. "Hi, Re. Whatcha doin?" She looked down at all the strange looking things Reno had in front of her.

"Playing DJ. I haven’t done this for a while, I think it’s time to get my job back at the club." she laughed. "Want me to show ya how?"

Scottie nodded, "I’d love it." Reno pulled Scottie in front of her, and began explaining and helping her master the gadgets. The rest of the dance passed quickly for them both, being together. The last song Reno chose. It was an old James Taylor song, "Fire and Rain".

Reno smiled, "Dance with me?"

Scottie nodded, "Yah, just keep it clean."

"Just yesterday morning they let me know you were gone

 Suzanne, the plans they made  put an end to you

 I walked out this morning and I wrote down this song

 I just can't remember who to send it to

  I've seen fire and I've seen rain

Reno and Scottie looked around the hall. They saw Tina and Janie having a last dance, Brett and Rusty were galloping around the hall. Some of the kids were crying, it was their last night. Reno saw Danny give his wife a peck on the cheek. She had driven up just for this night. Reno would have given anything at that moment to do the same for Scottie, but she couldn’t. They were both just content to remain together.

"Are you guys sure?" Tina asked. Scottie and Reno had just told them they’d be staying in tonight.

"Yah, we’re sure. We’re gonna have a little camp fire tonight. Sing a bit, tell stories or something." Reno said.

Scottie nodded, "Then go to bed, they have to be up early."

Janie smiled, "Cool!" She remembered how fun this stuff was.

Reno knelt down and lit the fire, "Girls, come out here!" she called. All the girls came out of their tents and smiled when they saw Reno and Scottie.

"Come on, what song do you guys wanna sing?" Scottie asked.

Mason smiled, "Linger." Everyone agree, it would be a great song to sing their last night together as a cabin.

So they all joined in together and sang a song they all loved for very different reasons:

    "Hmm mm I wanna linger

    Hmm mm it’s such a perfect night

    It doesn’t seem quite right

    Hmm mm and as the years go by

They all eventually went into their tents, Reno and Scottie sat in the center of their massive bed. Reno held Scottie close to her, "So do you believe me now?" Scottie asked.

"About what?" Reno mumbled as she kissed Scottie’s cheek.

Scottie said, "That two people can be in love before they ever actually meet?"

Reno laughed, "It would be pointless to say no. I love you baby."

Scottie turned around and said, "I love you too." She placed a gentle kiss on Reno’s lips. She had forever to show it, now she just wanted to be near Reno.

-Epilogue-

Reno smiled as she walked down the hallway; she spotted Scottie in a conversation and headed to her. They’d been back at school for about an four, and Reno needed to see her. She reached Scottie and stood shyly to the side, "Hi." she said.

"Ya know you haven’t touched me all day. Who are you and what did you do with my Reno?" Scottie laughed at her best girl.

Her friends just gave her a look of confusion. They couldn’t belive Scottie was talking to Reno Newlander, and with no respect none the less. As if this weren’t bad enough they had seen her talking to Janie Matthews earlier. "Scottie, are you sure that’s a good idea?" her friend Annie asked.

"Yah really, she might hurt you or something." Lecy commented.

Scottie rolled her eyes and walked over to Reno. "No."

"Can I walk you to class? I’ve got PE now with Mrs. Paulos." Reno said as she slid her arm around Scottie’s shoulder.

"Funny, me too." Scottie said with a smirk. She continued, "So I get to watch you change and shower?

"Sicko." Reno said.

Scottie shrugged, "Oh well, but I am serious, Re! You haven’t even given me a hug today!" she was getting a little bit annoyed.

"I kissed you!" Reno argued.

"Yah on the cheek when I got into your car this morning!" she snipped.

Reno growled, "It’s a truck! And I just didn’t want you to have to deal with anything. I didn’t think you wanted the world to know!"

Scottie grinned, "Let them know, all I want now is you."

Reno smiled and leaned down and placed a kiss on Scottie lips. "Happy now?"

"It’s a start." Scottie replied.

Reno and Scottie sat against the bleachers in the gym; Scottie rested her arms on Reno’s legs. They appeared to be in a conversation of sorts. Miss. Lancer said the Mrs. Paulos, "Newlander and Jamison? That’s new, better go break them up."

Mrs. Paulos grabbed her assistants arm, "No. That is Chelsea Newlander, I have had her for the last four years. This is the first time in those four years she is behaving. I know for a fact if you ask her to move we will have a problem."

Miss Lancer shook her head, "That’s inappropriate."

"I don’t care. She actually said good afternoon to me, which means she’s growing up! Leave them be!" was the response.

"So, Scuba Steve, you have any plans for today?" Reno asked

"Deep sea diving. That is if you’ll come home with me?" Scottie said

"I love you, Scottie. I’ll always come home to you and with you." Reno responded

"Good because I’d never have it any other way. Oh yah, I love you too." Scottie said. Reno kissed her cheek and Scottie smiled. She knew that Reno was all she’d ever want and all she’d ever need. Reno felt the same way.
