Part 1
-Staff Day-
The black Chevy pick up sped onto the main camp road, the driver grumbling something about "absurd camp bullshit." It was official this summer was going to suck. She could be home in the city, running with the Amazons, doing God knows what, but instead Dad sent her here. "It will be good for you." He said. No doubt he was under the influence of that bitch wife of his. Well, at least she had had most of her summer to do as she pleased. It was the last two weeks in August her uncle needed help up here, only one week. It could be worse; it could have been all summer. She stopped the truck in front of the mess hall, and jumped out. She was the last staffer to get there. Clad in black jeans, a black tank top and black boots the goddess of a six foot teenager walked in.
She saw Uncle Dan, the director. He was a younger looking man, thin with curly red hair. He looked more like he was Reno’s age Not old enough to be her uncle. He was the baby of the family; his mother had him about ten years before his older sister had Reno. She picked him up in a big hug, "Uncle Dan!" She smirked.
"Put me down Reno... You know I hate that. For Christ sake I could be your brother, don’t call me uncle." He said.
She laughed a bit, "That’s why I do it...Unc." She was a bit of a smart ass. She saw a blonde, happy bubbly and popular. At least at school she was. She rolled her eyes as she went to a table and stretched out on top of it.
"Okay, Cabin assignments!" Dan yelled. "Reno and Scottie, you are in number 8. Those girls are a handful, so get on up there and start getting ready. Tina will be your Jr."
Reno got up and noted that Scottie was the blonde. She made a b-line for her truck and began to drive it up to the cabin. She said to Foster, her stuffed monkey, "Great a happy blonde and the rowdiest kids in the camp!" She stopped and jumped out of the truck, Argo she called it. She pulled her trunk out with little effort and hauled it into the cabin. She picked out a bed in a corner, so she could see everything. The blonde was pulling in her trunk, she chose the bed closest to the door. Tina finally sauntered in she was sleeping opposite the two in the middle.
"Hi guys!" Scottie said. She smiled directly at Tina and then turned to Reno. "You’re Reno Newlander, you head up the Amazons back home?" Her smiled faded a bit; she was frightened. She pushed her cropped blonde hair back, her emerald colored eyes seemed to be burning holes in Reno’s head.
"Yah, that’s me." She looked at the blonde, really looked at her for the first time and saw something in her eyes. Fear? "But I’m not gonna hurt you. Trust me." She said.
Scottie didn’t know what to make of this, but for some reason she did trust Reno. "I do..."
Tina broke in, "So you guy’s know each other? I’m Tina and what’s all this Amazon business?" She asked.
Scottie
answered, "Local gang of chicks. No-ones got enough balls to go against them;
she leads them." Reno rolled her eyes,
"Great she knows all about us. Now she tells this one. This should be one
interesting summer." She thought.
Tina swallowed, "Oh. Well the kids are coming tomorrow; we should get everything ready." She was trying to change the subject.
Reno looked at the two, "Gotta get something." She said as she ran out the door. She opened her truck and grabbed her bag, putting Foster into it. She walked back into the cabin.
"What’s in there?" Tina asked
"A gun in case our girls get out of line." Reno deadpanned.
Scottie looked at her incredulously, "You’re a bitch." She said
Reno glared and pulled out Foster. She told them, "This is Foster, you touch him I kill you."
Scottie giggled at this, "And if the Amazons only knew!"
-Food for Thought-
It’s time for dinner, and the food sucked. The cabin counselors had to sit at the same table, to get to better know one another better. Reno got up and went to the refrigerator. One of the perks of being the director’s niece is a fully stocked shelf of yogurt and granola. She pulled a container out and returned to her table; she took the seat across from Scottie. "Good food?" She asked.
Scottie looked at her from across the table, then down at her mystery meat, "No, but looks like you have it better than I do." She reached over and wiped some yogurt from Reno’s chin.
Reno jerked back, "Don’t touch me, I don’t like it." Reno didn’t like being touched, but the Scottie seemed to make it a bit more bearable. She’d have to make sure she kept that to a minimum.
Brett, one of the other counselors, had approached. "Hey Scottie, Reno. Are you two coming with us to see the movie?"
Reno shook her head, "Nope, I am going to get some food." She glanced over at Scottie hoping that the little blonde would want to go, to her surprise Scottie was looking back, visually pleading for an excuse not to go. Reno added, "Scottie is coming with me."
Brett made a face, "So now you’re too good to hang around with us?"
Scottie made a save, "No it’s not that. It’s just our cabin was such a mess we spent the afternoon cleaning it. We didn’t get to plan as much as we needed for tomorrow, so we're gonna go out tonight and do it." She explained.
Brett nodded, he had known Scottie for a very long time, and he even dated her for a few months last camping season. He knew how seriously she took her job, "Oh. Why didn’t ya say so? You coming Tina?"
Tina nodded, "Yup, they don’t need me." She said as she and Brett got up and made toward the rest of the leaving counselors.
Scottie looked over at Reno, "You don’t have to take me if you don’t want, I can just stay here." She hopped Reno would take her. No matter what people said, or what she’d seen she knew Reno was a good person, and she had to prove it to herself.
Reno smiled; it was a real smile, "Nope, you’re stuck with me now." She said as they dumped their trays. They made their way up to the truck and hopped in.
On the ride there Scottie was looking through Reno’s CD collection. Whitney Houston? Dean Martin? Bon Jovi? Shania Twain? "You've gotta be kidding." She thought. She picked up another pile, Papa Roach. Led Zeppelin. Jane’s Addiction. "Okay now this is better." She said to herself
Reno was singing along with the song, "Oooh, I need your love babe, I guess you know it’s true. Hope you need my love babe, just like I need you. Hold me, love me, hold me, love me. I ain’t got nothing but love girl, eight days a week..." The Beatles.
Scottie looked over and smiled, "You have a great voice." She said.
Reno blushed, for some reason this little blonde was getting the best of her. Scottie and Reno, both couldn't belive she had turned so red. "Umm, thanks." She said as she pulled the Chevy into the nearest spot. "Here it is. Michael’s."
They got out of the car; impulsively Reno put an arm around Scottie. She had no idea why she did it, but she did, and she wasn’t about to pull back. It felt to right. Scottie looked at her new "friend" and remarked, "This is a really nice place. Are you sure you wanna eat here?"
Reno smiled, "Yah, I’m sure." She led Scottie into the restaurant and asked for a table for two, but in the back of the restaurant, with her back from the wall. Scottie thought this odd, but she didn’t question it until they got to the table.
"Why the seats like this?" Scottie asked
Reno looked anywhere but Scottie. "Just because."
Scottie nodded, "Oh, well why are you here?" She figured a change in subject would be a good thing. In fact anything was better that the look she was getting from Reno.
Reno shrugged, "Dad and bitch panties made me come. Why are you here?"
Scottie sighed and knew that Reno probably didn’t get much more talkative than this, she replied, "Because I want to be. I like it here..."
The waitress approached, and asked them what they wanted. Reno ordered
two slices of Pizza and a large Root beer. Scottie ordered a cheese steak, a
salad, and a large order of fries, then finished it off with a diet Coke. Reno
was amazed, "You always eat that much?" Reno thought, "Where
does she put it!? She’s...wow!"
"Yah, I have always eaten a lot..." She started.
Reno’s cell phone rang; she signaled for Scottie to hold on, "Hello?" She answered it. "She was?" Reno asked. It seemed like she expected it. Suddenly she burst out laughing, "They what?! You've gotta be kidding me!" She was laughing harder; Scottie thought it had to be one of the most wonderful sounds in the world. "Tell Jax and Leta they done good. I’ll call you in a few days Eph, you know they number if you need me." Reno smiled again, her eyes crinkling in the corners, "Yah I know ya are, and you know that that’s not possible, so stop. Love ya too. Bye." Reno finished.
"You love her?" Scottie asked. She was jealous.
Reno smiled at her, "Not in the way you’re thinking. Eph is my cousin, a very good friend of mine is all."
The food came and was placed in front of them. Reno looked and shook her head at the amount of food in front of Scottie. Scottie asked, "What made you laugh so hard?"
Reno took a bit of her pizza, "Nothing."
Scottie was chewing her sandwich, and glared, "Don’t nothing me! Tell me." She said after swallowed.
Reno smirked, "Well it turns out Gina has been stealing from us. Taking a few dollars here, a few there..."
Scottie shook her head, "What’s so funny about that!?" She snapped.
Reno rolled her eyes, "You didn’t let me finish!" Reno said, "Any way Jax and Leta decided to teach her a lesson, they broke all ten of her fingers and then buried her to her knees in cement. The knocked her out so by the time she woke up the cement set and she was stuck in there." Reno was laughing again.
Scottie looked shocked, "You think that’s funny?"
"Yeah." Reno said flatly, taking another bite of her pizza.
"Okay that’s sick. I mean I have seen you and Ephiny make someone bleed for just looking at you, but that’s horrible! How do I know you won’t hurt me if I upset you?" Scottie asked as she took another bite of food. She had just finished her sandwich.
Reno bowed her head, "I wouldn’t hurt you." That was the truth, she hardly knew Scottie, but for some reason she wanted to know her. She would never hurt her.
Scottie asked, "Why would I believe you?"
"Trust me?" Reno asked.
Scottie nodded, "Prove it."
They finished their dinner and the waiter dropped the bill, "How do you mean prove it?" Reno asked.
Scottie shrugged, "Don’t know, but you’ll figure it out."
-Angel’s Commentary-
"Something's don’t change do they?" The small blonde angel asked her taller darker companion.
"Nope." The tall one shook her head.
"But when they do get together it will be worth it. For all four of us." The little blonde grinned.
"Well we have till August, lets make it count." The tall one smirked.
The compact blonde rolled her eyes, "Fine but they have to say the words before there will be any merging of souls...Kissing and groping are fine, but nothing more."
Blue eyes narrowed, "Fine!"
-The First Night-
Scottie and Reno walked out of the restaurant and Reno asked, "What do ya wanna do?"
Scottie grabbed her hand and pulled her toward the truck, "I wanna go back. We can talk." She said.
Reno tensed as she was being pulled, she didn’t like not being in control, but she thought the way to show Scottie she could be trusted was to show Scottie that she trusted her. So she let her friend lead her to the truck. Scottie noticed the tension in her friend as they walked. "Okay." Reno agreed.
They got into the truck and Reno changed the CD. Scottie didn’t recognize it, so she asked, "What is this?"
Reno smiled and began singing along, "When the moon hits your eye like a big pizza pie that’s amore."
Scottie laughed, "Well this wasn’t what I expected from you!"
Reno parked the truck and jumped out and walked around to the other side of her truck. She opened the door for Scottie, "Don’t expect too much." Scottie couldn’t believe that.
"Thanks." Scottie said as they went into the cabin, "Lets get our beds together, I mean we’ll only be here for a night, but it would be sweet to have an actual bed." Reno stood looking at her bed, not sure what to do. Scottie noticed and laughed, "You can’t make a bed?"
"No, Nanna always did it for me. You wanna help me?" Reno smirked.
Scottie nodded and grabbed the sheet. Reno admired the view as Scottie bent over. Nice! She started making Reno’s bed, in a few minutes she had it done; she picked up Foster and said, "And now the monkey..."
Reno snapped, "Don’t touch him!"
Scottie dropped Foster, "Sorry I forgot."
"Sorry it’s just my mom gave him to me before she...nevermind." Reno turned around and lay down on her bed as silent tears ran down her cheeks. Scottie shook her head and walked away to make her bed
Twenty minutes later Scottie was sitting on her bed. She looked over to Reno, "Come here, Reno." Reno didn’t move, so Scottie just lay back on her bed. "Ya know it’s okay to cry." A few more minutes passed and Reno got up, and walked to Scottie.
"Yah?" Reno asked her
Scottie opened her arms to Reno, "Yah." Reno slid into Scottie’s arms and rested her head on Scottie’s shoulder. "Everything’s gonna be alright." Scottie whispered.
Reno nestled into Scottie, a little closer, "Thank you, Scottie."
"For what?" Scottie asked as Reno wrapped her arm around her.
"Just for holding me. No-one has for a very long time." Reno told her. She was relishing the contact between the two of them. She only ever wanted to feel secure, and Scottie was giving her that feeling.
Scottie felt badly for Reno, but there was something more there, "That’s what friends are for." She said, but Reno was asleep and that was okay by Scottie.
-Week One -
Scottie woke up to the sound of Tina’s alarm clock. She felt an unfamiliar weight on her, and a burning ache in her groin. She saw Reno’s head on her chest, and realized Reno’s thigh was planted between her legs. "That explains that." She mumbled. She heard the shower turn on, and she began thinking. "So maybe I am interested in her...Okay I am very interested in her. In more ways than one. I’ve never been with a girl, but I have a vivid imagination. I’d like to try it." She broke out of her thoughts as Reno started to move around. "Like where you are?"
Reno smiled at Scottie. Her answer was to push her knee up and grind down on Scottie’s. She felt Scottie grind down on her knee, "God yes." Reno moaned, as she ran her hands over Scottie’s chest.
The shower shut off and they both heard it, "Not fair." Scottie whined. Reno started kissing Scottie’s neck as Scottie ran her fingers through Reno’s hair, "What about her?"
Reno grinned, "She can find her own blonde, because I don’t share." She kissed Scottie’s lips and Scottie ran her tongue over Reno’s. No hesitation, Reno opened her mouth.
Tina came out of the shower; her eyes bugged out of her head, "Hey, you guys?" She asked.
Reno snapped at her as she pulled away from Scottie, "What?"
"Wanna tell me something?"
Scottie climbed off of Reno and Reno responded, "No."
Scottie glared at Tina, "Go to breakfast."
Reno said, "Say a word it’s your funeral." Tina nodded and practically ran out of the cabin.
Reno was confused. She was so worried that she’d done something wrong. "I’m sorry. You’re right you shouldn’t trust me." She said.
Scottie sat down on Reno’s lap, "I do trust you Reno. I’m not sorry." She kissed Reno, forcing her mouth open, pushing her back on the bed. She felt Reno’s tongue brush against hers.
"Ee avent ot ime or is ow." Reno tried to say, but the task of speaking was proving rather difficult with Scottie’s tongue in her mouth.
Scottie
pulled back, "Shower, now." She said pulling Reno up, who gladly followed.
-Angelic Commentary II-
"Progress." The tall one stated.
"Yes, progress. But still no sex." The little blonde said as she wormed under her partner's arm.
"At least not for them, we are a different story." The one with blue eyes husked
"OOOOH!" The little one giggled.
Scottie and Reno entered the mess hall, Reno’s arm around Scottie’s shoulder. "Want FrootLoops?" Scottie nodded, and Reno said, "Save me a seat, one close to a special blonde."
"Which special blonde?" Scottie teased as she walked over to the table. She sat across from Tina, "Morning Tiny."
Tina blushed, "You two hit it off?" She asked.
"Yah, we hit it off alright." Scottie sniggered.
"I have known you for years. Honestly, I never thought you were, gay." Tina stammered though her Frosted Flakes.
"No-one really did. But she’s really nice." Scottie said
Reno sat down by Scottie and placed down two bowls of FrootLoops in front of Scottie, and one for herself. "Don’t spread roomers, it’s not polite." She slid her hand up the leg Scottie’s shorts and scratched the spot her thigh met her torso.
Scottie jumped and gave Reno a look, "But it’s so much fun." She grabbed Reno’s hand and moved it to the left. Reno’s eyes got wide, and she smiled as she wriggled her fingers and pulled her hand away. "...Unlike some people."
Tina looked between the two, "Okay." She said.
Uncle Dan came by, "Here’s your list of campers." He noticed Reno’s smile and he added, "Scottie, I don’t know how you got her to smile, but don’t stop doing whatever you did."
Scottie promised, "I won’t."
Reno added, "I won’t let her, I like it too much."
"Hedonist!" Dan laughed, "Do you let any of them stop?"
"That I am, and no I don’t. She’s different Danny. Trust me." Reno told her uncle.
"Just don’t get to touchy feely in front of the kids, okay?" Dan said.
"Promise." Scottie said as she blushed. She couldn’t believe how calm Dan was about this, or how calm Reno was for that matter. She figured if anyone found out there would be trouble.
Dan walked away and Tina cocked a brow, "Woah. That was different."
Scottie looked at Reno, "He knows?" She asked.
Reno laughed, "They all know!"
Tina shook her head, "This should be an interesting two weeks."
Reno was lying on her bed, her head propped against a pillow, Scottie on her stomach between Reno’s legs chatting away, "See Reno, it’s possible for two people to be in love before they ever meet..."
Reno picked up her head and looked at Scottie, "Because their souls are already in love?" She asked.
"Exactly, which means love at first sight it possible, because your souls are already connected." She crawled up and placed a kiss on her lips. She let her hands wonder up the front of Reno’s shirt.
Brett chose that moment to walk in. "Excuse me, guys?" He was shocked, and he stood there watching. He heard Reno moan, and he was completely aroused. "HEY!" he yelled. The looked up, he held up toilet paper and soap, "You want this where?"
Reno smirked, "Bathroom. Like what ya see, Brett?" She asked.
"In a word, YES!" Brett said.
Scottie laughed, "You would!" She and Brett had dated for a summer, but it didn’t work out. He was more like a best friend to her, so she didn’t really mind him being there.
Reno liked Brett. He seemed a good guy, all around clean cut, guy. He wasn’t a jock, but a musician. Blues. Reno respected that, so wouldn’t have to pound him for this one, "Good!" She exclaimed.
Brett was just about to leave when he turned to them, "Now much as I enjoy watching you two feel each other up, Tina and Janie, are bringing up two campers. As much as it pains me to say this, you might want to get up." He smiled and sauntered out of the cabin. He had a small detour to his cabin to make, personal reasons.
"Later." Scottie told Reno. "We have our own tent. Tina and Janie get one, and we get one."
Reno grinned, "Like that, baby."
The first campers and their parents came in; Reno and Scottie were sitting Reno’s cot. They were talking about schedules and sleeping arrangements. Scottie got up and Reno followed. She said, "Hi I’m Eileen Scott-Jamison, your senior counselor. You can call me Scottie."
Reno frowned because she had to use her real name, "Hi, I’m Chelsea Newlander, your other senior counselor. Call me Reno, everyone else does."
The parents were impressed with the two, "Well I hope Beth is good for you two. She can be quite a handful." Beth’s mom said.
"Same for Julie." Julie’s dad said. They kissed their kids goodbye and left to go home.
"Okay, your stuff stays here, 'cept your sleeping bag, because we sleep in the woods." Scottie told the kids.
Julie looked up at Reno, "Hey, how’d ya get that scar on your forehead?" She asked.
Reno looked around, "Fight a long time ago."
"Cool did you beat the other guy up?" Julie piped, she already liked Reno.
"Yah, why don’t you guys wait outside with Janie and Tina; we have some stuff to take care of." Reno said.
"Okay." Beth and Julie said, as they left the cabin.
Reno pulled Scottie over to the bed and sat down, "So Eileen, does this mean you and me are together? Ya know, like you’re my best and only girl?" She asked
"Well Chelsea, only if I am your best AND only girl." Scottie told her as she ran her finger over the scar on Reno’s forehead.
"You are Scottie. I promise you that, you are." Reno told her.
"Okay so when I call your name, you say here." Reno announced to her cabin. They were sitting on benches in the woods, waiting to be assigned their tents. There were already cliques forming and some of the girls had already chosen their favorite counselor. The tougher ones liked Reno and the quiet ones liked Scottie. The older ones liked Tina and Janie because they were closer to their age. "Julie, Sarah, Michelle, Lena, and Mason." They all raised their hands. "You five will be in tent one." She pointed and handed the list to Scottie.
"Okay you five set your bags up and hurry out. Dinner will be in a half hour. Neal, Beth, Mandy, Ally, and Shelly?" They all raised their hands, "You five are in that tent. The one between yours and the other is Tina and Janie’s. The one farther away is Reno and mine. Now go and hurry." She said.
Tina, Janie, Reno and Scottie now sat on the benches. Reno was throwing small pebbles at Janie. She was surprised to see Janie. They knew each other at school. Janie was Jax cousin, so they’d hang around if they had class together. "You’re gay! Stop!"
"Stop throwing rocks? Or stop being gay?" Reno asked, with a smirk. Scottie chuckled and Tina looked uncomfortable, yet again today. Reno continued, "See I can stop throwing rocks, but I can’t stop being gay, that’s not possible, it biological. I can’t help that, but I am throwing rocks of my own free will. So I will stop throwing rocks at you, but I won’t and I can’t stop being gay."
"Do we have to talk about this?" Tina asked, "Like lets find something else to talk about?"
Scottie felt a streak of evil coming on, "Why? Because it’s gay?"
Reno threw back her head and let out a laugh, "Shut up Scottie, you’re being gay!"
Tina blushed as Janie shot in, "Reno don’t call her gay..."
"Why not?" Reno asked, completely knowing what was coming next.
Janie responded, "True as it maybe, it’s still...ummm...what’s the word...gay!"
They all laughed, except Tina. It was quite obvious that teasing her would be the favorite pass time of the cabin, as the girls started coming out of their tents, Reno’s cell phone rang, she picked it up, "Talk to me!"
Scottie rolled her eyes at Janie and whispered, "That’s sooooo gay!" They both started giggling, Reno caught it and stifled a laugh.
Reno finished her conversation, and they were ready to go back for dinner. The girls were walking up front, the foursome of counselors walking behind. Reno had her arm draped around Scottie’s shoulders, Scottie’s arm around Reno’s waist. Reno looked at Janie and started to talk, "Ya know you are..."
Tina cut her off, not wanting to hear the word "gay" again, although that’s not what Reno was going to say, "What you eat!"
They all looked at her, Reno replied, "I’m not Scottie..." Tina blushed, she set herself up and she now had to endure the howling laughter of the three others walking with her.
Scottie added in, "Not yet anyways." They all laughed harder.
"Soon enough, and I can’t wait!" She looked back to Janie, "What are you?"
Janie shrugged, "If you are what you eat then I guess I am part mineral, vegetable, and part animal..."
Scottie and Reno rolled their eyes at Janie. Tina was glad for the change in subject. Janie caught the looks on Scottie and Reno’s faces and with mock seriousness exclaimed, "OOOOOH! Not that kind of eat...Okay, well that makes me part man, part woman and a little bit of Reno."
Tina was disgusted, she marched ahead to walk with the campers. She couldn’t take much more of them. Scottie glared at Reno then Janie, Reno shot in, "We were drunk, it was last year and honestly neither of us remember a thing, before we woke up."
Janie nodded, "I swear! It was just a joke! We don’t even remember doin it."
Scottie was satisfied with this, but a bit jealous. She didn’t like the fact someone else had touched Reno. "I believe you..." she said. "But I meant that Reno, you’re not me yet. You will be..."
"I hope so." Reno said wriggling her eye brows. "I hope so."
Janie smiled. She was just glad to see her friend finally happy and seemingly falling into love. "Aww you guys that’s sooooo....sooo...gay!" The three of them laughed again, and Tina shook her head.
"Shut
up Jane!" Tina called back
Dinner, a lesson in controlled chaos. "Alright, I’m going to get dinner." Tina announced. At this point she’d have done just about anything to get away from the three stooges. She got up and went for dinner. Reno went to get the milk.
Janie smiled at Scottie, "Wonder what’s got Tina’s panties in a ruffle."
Scottie knew, but wouldn’t say anything at the moment. Mason had been hanging around her all day as she was homesick. "I don’t know, maybe she doesn’t feel well?" Mason smiled at Scottie. "How ya doing Mason?" Scottie asked.
"I miss my mom." She said.
Janie jumped in, "Me too, but it’s only two weeks. I think you’ll have fun."
Scottie was impressed. Since she’d known Janie, she wasn’t one to give comfort. This was Janie’s third summer there, first as staff. Scottie knew Janie would go out with the Amazons, but wasn’t sure how she knew them. "Yah, I think you’ll have some fun. I’m having fun."
Reno sat down on by Scottie, and ruffled her cropped blonde hair, "Me too."
Mason asked Reno, "Do you miss your Mom?"
Reno cringed, "I have missed my Mother for a long time, she died." She said casually, "But I do miss my little brother, Chance."
"You have a little brother? I do too, he’s six." Mason said.
Reno saw the girl smile, and she knew she had hit a good chord, "What’s his name?" she thought, "What the hell? I’m not home, so I can nice...or nicer. Not sure yet."
Mason grinned, "Mickey. Do you have a brother, Scottie?"
Scottie smiled, "No. I have a younger sister. She came for a year, but didn’t like it here. Her name is Serena."
Tina came back with the food, and placed it in the center of the table. Twenty hands went grabbing for, what was supposed to be meatloaf, mashed pot, and corn, looked more like Gaines Burger, dog food. "Well then, time to feed the animals."
Reno grinned, "Rather eat something else."
Scottie and Janie laughed at the double meaning as Reno went off to the refrigerator, "I’ll be she would!" said Janie, she whispered the rest of her sentence to Scottie and Tina, "And I am so sure what she wants is just begging to be eaten."
Scottie laughed, Tina rolled her eyes, "I am sure." Reno sat down again with her yogurt and granola. Scottie looked at her with an innocent smiled and pouted, "Please, I’ll do anything! I’m begging you!"
Reno sat confused, looking at Janie and Scottie, "Ya know I’m not even gonna ask."
"GO TO BED!" Reno yelled slightly irritated. It was one o’clock in the morning and the girls just wouldn’t sleep. "Scottie, if they don’t go to bed soon I’m gonna kill them."
Scottie had her head resting on Reno’s stomach. They were supposed to have two cots in the tent, but Reno stole an extra two and she had Scottie put them together to make a giant bed. "Let them stay up." She said as she ran her hand over Reno’s stomach.
"Hmm, you might be right." She said as she sat up, pulling Scottie up with her. "Or not." She grabbed Scottie’s hand and led her out of the tent, "You take that one, I’ll take this one."
Scottie wasn’t happy, "GIRLS, IF YOU AREN’T ASLEEP IN ABOUT FIVE SECONDS I SWEAR TO GOD..." The girls shut up in both tents.
Reno hadn’t even opened her mouth and all the girls were nodding, "Yah, what she said." Reno walked back to her tent with a grin on her face.
Sprawled out in the center of two of the beds Reno relaxed with a grin, Scottie was resting her head on her stomach. If this wasn’t heaven for Reno, then it couldn’t exist in her mind, "So tell me Reno, what happens when we get back to school? Will you even pay attention to me?"
"Why would you ask that?" Reno asked, a bit perplexed.
"Well here you only know Janie, but at home you have your amazons, and you won’t need me for anything, will you?" Scottie questioned.
"You’ve got my attention now, and I’ll make sure you have it when we get back home." Reno told her, "Believe me, I won’t screw you over."
Scottie nodded and fell asleep, "I know, Reno." She put her arm around Reno, like she was a big teddy bear; neither of them seemed to mind.
Later that night...
"Hold on Mason, I’m gonna get them up, then send you in." Janie said. She wasn’t about to send a kid in to Scottie and Reno’s tent. Only God knows what’s going on in there! She climbed in and looked around, seeing nothing but a very large bed with two lumps in the middle, she climbed on the bed and shook Scottie. "Scott, get up...Mason’s crying...she wants you." She wasn’t getting anywhere.
She crawled to Reno, "Re...Mason’s crying, get up!"
Reno’s eyes opened and focused on Janie. She realized she couldn’t get up because Scottie was sleeping on her. "What?"
Janie grumbled, "Mason wants one of you guys. She’s crying."
"Send her in here, but wait for her, cos you’re gonna have to bring her back to bed." Reno grumbled.
"Mason, come on..." Janie called.
Mason stumbled into the tent, "I’m sorry...can I stay with you guys tonight?" she asked.
Reno shook her head in the darkness and thought, "Thirteen and still can’t sleep alone..." she nodded. "Why don’t you go back to your bed, there’s only an hour or so left to sleep...you’ll be fine. We can talk tomorrow."
Mason sniffed, "Okay."
Janie took her back to her tent, and Reno passed out quite satisfied with her lie. The truth was, there were about six hours to sleep, but she wasn’t about to lose hers to a crying teenager.
-Day Two-
-1-
Reno woke up, it was 6:58 AM according to her Timex. Scottie was still asleep on top of her and Reno needed to move. She sat up, Scottie’s head just fell into her lap, but Scottie didn’t even stir. "Scottie, wake up." Reno said loudly. No result. "Scottie!?" She said louder while shaking her. Scottie didn’t move. Reno was getting annoyed, so she decided drastic measures were necessary. She reached out and pinched Scottie’s nipple rather hard.
Scottie’s eyes shot open, "OW! Reno!?" She wasn’t very happy about being roused before 7:30.
"Hi...you wouldn’t wake up." She said simply.
"So you god-damn thought ripping off a vital part of my anatomy was in order?" Scottie groused. Not that she really minded, it was Reno after all.
Reno grinned as Scottie sat up and crawled into her arms, "Yes. I suppose I did...But for some reason I don’t think you minded much, now did you?" Reno nestled her head into Scottie’s shoulder, holding her close. She loved the little bit of fire Scottie had in her.
Scottie desired and relished the contact, she settled back into Reno, "No. I didn’t. How could I mind?"
A small brunette head peered through the tent flap, "Reno, is a few hours up yet?" The voice asked. It was Mason; she stepped into the tent.
"Yah, a few hours are up. Did you sleep at all?" Reno asked
"Yeah, a little bit. I wanna go home..." Mason whined
Scottie looked at the girl, and then to Reno, "What happened?"
"She woke up last night, homesick. I told her we’d talk in the morning. You wouldn’t wake up, so Janie and I dealt with it." Reno explained and Mason nodded in agreement.
Scottie nodded, "Well come on Mason, let’s talk."
As Mason came closer to the bed Scottie smiled. Mason climbed up and looked at Reno and Scottie, "Can I go home today?" She asked
Scottie frowned and moved from Reno’s lap. She moved to Mason and put an arm around her, "I don’t think that’s possible. Don’t you want to give it a try here?" she asked
Mason nodded, "Yeah, but I still wanna go home. I didn’t wanna come here anyway. My dad and step-mom made me!" She was getting angry, "I don’t like my step-mom, the only good thing that ever came from her was my brother!"
Scottie looked at Reno. This seemed to be more her department anyway. Reno cocked her head, "I know exactly how you feel."
"Ya do?" Mason asked with disbelief. She didn’t belive a counselor could possibly know how she felt!
"Shheeya!" Reno laughed, "I didn’t want to work here, for this last week. My dad told me I had to go, because my step-mom, bit...my step-mom wanted me to go. You wanna know a secret, Mason?" she asked
Mason nodded, she caught Reno’s slip, "Sure."
"The only good thing to come from my step-mom was Chance." Reno told her and finished with, "I’m glad I came; I made a very special friend already."
Scottie had since scooted out of the way. Mason was sitting next to Reno now smiling a bit. She asked, "So you think I’ll make some friends up here?"
"I know you will. You’re a cool kid, just open up a little, and I am sure you’ll make a lot of friends." Reno smiled. She was happy to help the kid, and she was sincerely she had come.
"Ya think so?" Mason asked
"I know so!" Reno laughed, "Now go on and get your hoodie on, and tell Janie and Tina to get their lazy asses outta bed! Tell them they need to wake up the rest of the girls and we’ll be out in a few minutes."
Scottie grinned, "And don’t tell Tina we have four beds in here, because she won’t be too happy."
Mason grinned, "Okay to both! Thanks." She said as she practically ran out of the tent.
Reno lay back and smiled to herself, she was proud and happy. Scottie pounced her, landing on her stomach. "Now, ‘Ms. I am such a though dyke’ what have you got to say for yourself?" Scottie laughed at Reno.
"I’d say by the way you’re acting you don’t mind that I am such a though dyke." Reno smiled, as she did her blue eyes shined. Scottie noticed her smile was brilliant, but at the same time lopsided.
"I’d say you’re right, but I am proud of you. You handled that very well." She leaned down and kissed the tip of Reno’s nose.
Reno laughed and sat up. Scottie fell into her lap backwards, straddling her lap. She kissed Scottie lightly and said, "Good mornin’ sunshine."
Scottie smiled and got up, "Good morning, baby." She could already tell it would be a good day.
Reno sat on her chair. She was waiting for the girls to finish getting ready. Scottie was sitting on the floor, enjoying the feeling of her friend’s fingers running through her hair. "Ten minutes until breakfast, and they still aren’t out of there yet." Scottie groused.
Reno frowned, "You’re right. GIRLS GET OUT HERE...NOW!" She yelled. None of them wanted to get Reno mad so all ten of them flew out of the bathroom.
Tina followed them, "Thanks, I have been trying to get them out of there forever. Five of them got their showers." she told them.
"Good, now can you and Janie take them to breakfast? Where's Janie?" Scottie asked looking around the cabin.
Reno pointed upward, "She’s up there." Everyone looked and there was Janie. She had put a big board across two of the rafters and placed her extra sleeping bag up there, smart girl.
"Coming." She said. Janie climbed off the board, onto a top bunk. She swung onto the bottom bunk, eventually landing on the floor. "Will you two hurry down...please?" she begged.
Seniors had an extra twenty minutes to get to breakfast; they also had an extra twenty after to finish eating. Reno smiled, "Maybe."
Janie growled at her friend, "Fine!" She and Tina ushered the girls out of the cabin toward the mess hall.
Scottie pulled herself up into Reno’s lap, "I need a shower."
Reno’s arms circled Scottie, "With me?"
"No time." Scottie sighed.
Reno pouted, "Is too."
"Is not." Scottie replied.
Reno scooped her up and carried her to the bathroom, "Is too!" She put Scottie down and stripped her shirt and sweat pants; she reached in and turned on the shower.
Scottie’s eyes popped open, "Whoa!" she said as Reno undressed her, "Is too!" She pushed Reno into the shower. Happy time!
Twenty minutes later Scottie pulled on her T-shirt, "Is too." She sulked.
"Normally I’d agree, but we’ve been twenty minutes. Besides we teach classes together, so we have the same off periods, and we have tonight off..." Reno smiled. At first she didn’t like the idea of having to be with Scottie all the time. Now it was like she didn’t have enough time to be with her. She’d never felt like this before, and didn’t plan on feeling it again. Something told her Scottie was the one.
Scottie walked over to Reno and sat next to her, "Are you happy?" she asked. Reno cocked a brow and Scottie asked again, "Do I make you happy?"
Reno suddenly understood. She got up and kneeled in front of Scottie, resting her hands on her thighs. She said, "Scottie in the past few days you have made me happier than I have ever been."
Scottie leaned forward and placed a kiss on Reno’s lips; Reno’s hands slid
up Scottie’s torso. Heaven, Scottie mumbled, "Breakfast can wait."
Reno rose herself a bit and leaned forward. She placed Scottie on the cot, underneath. Reno felt herself losing control. Reno didn’t lose control, but she couldn’t help herself. Scottie hadn’t even touched her below the waist and she was ready to explode. Scottie had raised her leg up; Reno impulsively began to grind down against it, she was so close. "Oh God, Scottie!" she whimpered. She had never made it to this point so quickly, "God Scottie." She lost it, her body began trembling, as she was lost in an ocean of pure pleasure. "Scottie..."
Scottie became nervous. She felt Reno’s body tense and convulse on top of her, "Re, what’s wrong?" she asked, as Reno collapsed. "Are you alright?" She asked again.
Reno had finally calmed down, "I’m more than fine Scottie, God what you do to me!"
"Why were you shaking like that?" She asked.
Reno couldn’t belive this. Scottie didn’t know that she had just had the best orgasm of her life, "I came..." she said.
Scottie looked at her in shock, "Re, I didn’t touch you. I don’t know how to make you do that." Scottie had had sex before, she just never really liked it, she didn’t understand how Reno could get so much out of so little.
-Angelic Commentary III-
"Good think the ‘I love you’ rule is one you made up!" The tall one laughed.
"Who knew Scottie would have that effect on her?" Her shorter companion asked.
Blue eyes smiled, "Well if it’s the same one you have on me, I am surprised Reno lasted that long!"
An impish grin spread across the face of a small blonde angel, "Let’s let them have their fun, they have forever to say it."
Reno kissed Scottie’s cheek and smiled, "Breakfast, then I’m gonna show you what it’s like. I want you to know." She said as she helped Scottie to her feet.
Scottie smiled, "What it’s like to come?"
"And so much more." Reno laughed as they made their way toward the mess hall.
Janie narrowed her eyes, "You’re late!" she barked.
Reno shrugged and decided to make a joke of herself, "I came as soon as I could..."
Tina groaned. She didn’t want to hear this, "Will you stop!?"
Scottie smiled, "She did eventually..."
"And you won’t..." Reno added smiling again at Scottie.
Janie frowned, "I might...if I can get ten minutes by myself." Reno and Scottie really did get a kick out of Janie, they both started laughing uncontrollably. Some of the girls looked over at their counselors.
Tina shook her head, "I am going to be sick!"
"What’s goin on?" Neal asked.
"Yah, what’s so funny?" Shelly asked, they were all very curious.
Reno smirked, "Nothing."
Lena, a pudgy red-head narrowed her eyes, "I think your lying."
"Me either...", Ally agreed.
Scottie was getting nervous, her face turned red as she thought, "Yah, they are twelve and thirteen, why would they belive us? What do I tell them!?" She looked at Reno, Reno looked back. Scottie shrugged and was about to speak when Mason shot in, "Scottie burped really loud...Reno was being a smart-ass."
The rest of the girls believed her. She was, after all, one of them. They all started giggling, none of them could imagine Scottie burping, it was gross, and Mason had just gotten away with what Tina referred to as being a, "potty mouth".
Reno
winked at Mason, "I owe you one...a big one." Mason winked back.
In the woods the kids had gathered around Scottie, Reno and a counselor called Rusty. They took attendance and began their lesson on edible berries. "These berries are not poison, so if you have to you can eat them." Scottie explained.
Reno looked over Scottie’s shoulder and down her chest, "I see them, and I wanna eat them..." She whispered.
Scottie smiled and continued unfazed, "You can tell by the color what kinds they are, the ones you can eat are darker..."
Reno whispered in her ear, "Yours aren’t that dark, but I’d hardly call them poison..."
Rusty picked up on the lowbrow comments and began laughing, "Reno!" he whispered, "Stop it or I’m gonna be my pants!"
Scottie looked out at the campers, "Now can you guys collect some sticks so we can show you how to build a fire?" They all nodded, "Okay, stay close though."
Reno grinned, "Can I light your fire?"
Scottie tipped her head backward to look at Reno, "Seems fair, considering I seemed to extinguish yours rather quickly." Scottie was rather amused by the lame innuendo Reno was throwing at her. It was different from the approach most guys used when they were dating her. They’d usually just be very sweet and keep their rude comments to themselves. Not Reno, Reno was blatantly sexual regarding anything she could be. Scottie liked that... a lot.
Reno shook her head, "But you started it back up again, without a thought."
"And I’ll repeat the process tonight...but right now we have fifteen children watching us, and if you don’t knock it off I will fuck you till you can’t walk, right here and right now." She growled playfully.
Rusty stood there with his mouth open, "God, you guys are...ummm...just stop or I won’t pee my pants, I’ll cream in them!"
They rolled their eyes and Reno looked over to him, "Don’t tempt me."
Rusty bit his lower lip, "You wouldn’t..." He didn’t think Reno would do anything.
Scottie shook her head, "No. You wouldn’t..."
Reno looked innocently at Scottie, "Wouldn’t I?" She picked her up over her shoulder and began walking toward the lake, "Great view...wanna swim?"
Scottie squealed, "No!" She was too late. Both she and Reno were floating in the lake. Scottie whispered, "I’m not wearing a bra..."
Reno grinned a lopsided grin, "I know..." She ducked under the water. She seemed to just disappear. Scottie looked around, she couldn’t find Reno anywhere.
"Re!?" She called, she felt something slide up her leg and linger in her shorts... "Re..." Scottie ducked down into the water, she squinted her eyes open and caught Reno’s shadow. Grabbing her face, Scottie pressed their lips together.
Reno was the first to shoot up, followed by Scottie. Arm in arm they made their way out of the lake, Reno whispered, "You’re incredible."
"I know..." Scottie said.
By this time they had drawn an audience, a large one at that. David, a little boy asked them, "What were you guys doin?"
Reno grinned, "We were having a contest to see who could hold their breath the longest...but don’t you try it." She added for good measure.
The little boy seemed satisfied, and so did all the other kids who went back to collecting firewood. Danny waltzed down the trail spotting his niece and Scottie soaked to the bone, "What happened?" He was amused. Very amused.
"Reno took me for a swim." Scottie answered.
Rusty grinned, "She needed to cool down anyway..." he started panting.
Reno looked at all them, "Hey Unc, beautiful day, isn’t it?"
"Sure...wonderful. Reno, I need to talk to you quickly. Walk with me?" He asked.
"Sure." Reno said as she smiled at Scottie and Rusty. Scottie had a bad feeling. Danny didn’t usually do things like private chats.
"What can I do for ya, Danny?" Reno asked as they stopped along the trail.
"Not much, I just want you to promise me something. Will you?" He asked. He knew Reno, and he knew that she did get tierd of people rather quickly. He liked Scottie, a lot, she’d been at the camp forever and he didn’t want to see her get hurt.
"What?" Reno asked wringing out her hair.
"Promise you won’t hurt her. I don’t wanna see her get hurt, Chelsea." Danny shook his head and continued, "I know you. You may like her now, but what happens when you leave here? It’s only been two days, but she seems to be the latest victim of your curse."
Reno knew it was serious; Dan had called her Chelsea. Reno also knew that people had a tendency to take things to an extreme when they became involved with her, and they read more into it than was a there. "Dan, I won’t hurt her. She’s just so special that I don’t wanna think about anything other than her."
Danny cocked his head, "This is new. Reno Newlander is thinking of someone else?"
Reno sat down on a large rock, "How could I not think of her?"
Danny smiled, "You came up here a few years back to visit for a week. You remember that?" Reno nodded in reply. "Well you remember that clearing I showed you?" he asked. Reno nodded again. "Take her there tonight, Re."
Reno smiled, "I will, Dan." She simply got up and headed back toward Scottie and the kids. She knew Scottie was special; she knew Scottie was hers.
Reno walked through the small clearing in the woods. She saw Scottie and Rusty showing the kids how to build a fire; she smiled. "Remember, you have to complete the fire ring. Fill in all of the cracks with small rocks." Scottie told them. The bell rang: the kids ran off laughing. Scottie looked over and spotted Reno leaning against a tree. "What did you two talk about?" She asked.
Reno smiled as Scottie made her way into her arms, "You..." Reno shivered: it was cold. "You know I did come up here for four years, as a camper."
Scottie shook her head, "I saw you the first day, when I was seven. I remember you very well." she stopped to think, "I just wanted to be your friend, and you wouldn’t talk to me."
"I wouldn’t talk to anyone other than Danny.’ Reno told her, ‘but I remember you to. You tried to talk to me every day I was here."
Scottie laughed, "And you just ignored me..."
"But I’m not ignoring you now? Am I?" Reno asked with a grin.
"If you call this morning being ignored than, yes. Lucky you, Re, I don’t call that being ignored." Scottie laughed. "Ya know we have this period off and the next one we have to plan."
"Yah, so that means I’ll see you in a period. I have something I have to take care of right now." She said as she kissed Scottie’s cheek.
Reno ran off into the woods; Scottie couldn’t help but laugh. She headed back to their cabin to change, wondering what Reno had to do.
Planning period came around, and Scottie was so very curios about where Reno went. Reno wouldn’t budge, "No, won’t tell you." she said as they sat on the couch in the staff lounge. She pulled Scottie closer and kissed her cheek.
"Please?", Scottie begged, returing the kiss.
"You’ll find out soon enough.", Reno said. They sat for a few minutes kissing brushing small kisses against eachothers lips.
"Hey Romeo, Juliette will be here later. Your uncle needs us to go to the store for camp supplies.",said Tina, as she walked in.
Reno smiled, "If Danny says so..." She got up after placing another kiss on Scottie’s forehead.
"Miss ya!" Scottie called after her retreating girlfriend.
"You
too, doll!", Reno called back. She thought,
"I miss her already; never live with out her. I’ll make this night
special...for her. From now on if she wants it, it’s hers. Anything, including
me. It’s always been like that...It will always be like that!"
"She’s
like the other part of my soul. When I’m with her I feel so differently. I
won’t live without her. I never could...I never will again!",
Scottie thought.
-Angelic Commentary-
"They know.", the blonde one smiled.
The raven-haired angel said softly, "Just like they should."
"Maybe these two will have limited problems?", was the reply.
Blue eyes laughed, "We couldn’t be so lucky!"
