-Prologue-

Okay so I wasn't thrilled about moving to this town! I was sitting at my kitchen table gazing out the window and I saw him. He had to be about six foot tall, dark hair. Loose ripped blue jeans, leather jacket and a cowboy hat. He picked up a small boy in his arms and went about what he was doing. It was a cold winter day and I couldn't imagine what he'd be doing in the cold at 7:00 in the morning. But I digress. I had moved to Oakburry, Montana from Sailors, Maine three days ago. Sailors was a bigger suburb, so much to do. Oakburry was a small farming community, with a population of like, ten. Five of which lived on the farm across from me. Okay so maybe there were about a thousand living there, but that's beside the point. The leather clad cowboy just disappeared into the barn with the boy. It had been a few minutes and he'd emerged on a horse, the boy tucked in front of him. He looked so perfect, it was then I decided. I'd decided that he'd be my leather wearin' cowboy.

I'd lived here all my life. The small rural town of Oakburry, Montana. So, it ain't a big town, and it ain't rich an' fancy. None-the-less I call in my home. I lived on the same farm as now, with my Mama, my twin brother and my younger siblings. My brother and I worked hard to support the family. I kept up the farm, before an' after school. When I finished school I worked all day on the farm. My brother worked in town. We had got new neighbors a few days ago that year. Although I ain't seen em' at that point I knew they were there. They didn't seem like country folk, frankly I didn' really care. They're there an' perhaps someday I'd meet em'. I love the cold in the mornin'. It's when me an' Noah are gonna take our horse, Destiny for a ride. We loves that time of the mornin'.

-1-

My cowboy was sitting on his front porch with the same little boy. He was drinking beer, the boy had a bottle of rootbeer. I was getting my mail when I saw him look at me. He whispered something in the boy's ear. The boy shot up and with a swat to bottom he came running over to me. "Hi, I'm Noah!" he said cheerily.

"Hi Noah. I'm Hannah." I said to the boy. He was a cute kid; curly black hair and bright green eyes. He was short and missing one of his incisor teeth.

"I'm five and in kindegarn'. How old are ya?" he asked. I couldn't help but smile. He had the cutest little drawl and smile.

I told him, "I'm eighteen and a senior."

He smiled a big smile at me, "Blake n' Dyl were seniors last year, but they're nineteen now!" He was excited, I could tell.

"Who's Blake and Dyl?" I asked.

He pointed to my cowboy on the steps, "That's Blake. Dyl's my brother. They're twins, ya know?"

"Oh?" I asked, but Blake whistled.

Noah looked at him and smiled, "I gotta go, Blake wants me. We're making dinner for Mama, t'night!" Without another word he turned and ran back to his brother. Noah was swept up and began talking to Blake as the disappear into the house.

I walked back to my house. My cowboy had a name, Blake. He cooked and had a sense of family. Judging by that day I was so sure he was interested.

I sent Noah over to do some investigating for me. I was a chicken shit, and I ain't never done much by the way of talkin' to girls. I guess I always gettin' my signals mixed up. Even the ones who seemed interested shot me down. Why'd she be any different than they were? Noah said she was eighteen. Her name was Hannah, pretty name. She was nice to Noah, but then again it's Noah. Even now no-one can resist him. I was hoping that day I'd get a chance to meet Hanna, maybe have a class with her. Too bad she'd never be interested in someone like me.

-2-

I was standing outside of school, it had been a long day. My classes were all very slow and some peppy girl had been after me all day to join cheerleading. I had turned her down about five or six times with in three periods. I was heading toward home when a truck stopped by me. Noah and Dane were sitting in the bed, the smiled down at me, "Wanna ride home?" Dane asked

"Sure. Thanks" I said. I went to climb into the bed of the truck when the window opened.

"In here, Hannah." Frannie called. She slid over and sat next to Blake.

I opened the door and climbed into the truck, "Thanks." I said to Blake.

Blake looked over at me and tipped his hat down. He resumed driving. Frannie looked at me, "Shy..." she said.

I looked Blake over again and noticed that his facial features were a lot softer than most of the other guys I'd ever seen. I also noticed his hands were long, slender and smooth, his arms weren't built like any other guy. His flannel shirt hung loosely as did his jeans; the seemed to cling in places unusual for a guy. In spite of all this, I still thought he was incredible. Then I heard him, "Frannie, call out the back an' tell em' to sit down." His voice wasn't as low as most either, none-the-less it was a gorgeous voice.

Frannie did as she was told and Blake looked over and smiled approvingly. It was a wonderful smile. We pulled into their drive and Blake quickly jumped out and disappeared into the house. I stood talking to Frannie for a while, and Blake came back out with a beer. He went to the barn, and Noah came over to me.
Hannah, "Do ya gotta boyfriend?"

I smiled at Noah, "No, I don't. You interested?" I asked him, teasingly.

"No! Girls are yucky! Well most girls..." he looked around, "So you like anyone?"

I grinned knowing Blake put him up to this, "Yes."

"Who? Do I know em'?" Noah asked

"I think you do." I replied. Noah grinned and ran off into the barn. I headed home.

I sent Noah to see her again. Gave her a ride home from school today. She was lookin' me over and I was getting' nervous. I don' know what she thinks 'bout me. For some reason I seem to care, but I don' know what's gonna happen when she realizes who I am. I don' know that I wanna find out.

-3-

I went outside to collect my dog, Buck and I saw them. Two of them, looking almost exactly alike. They were rolling around like children in the grass, trying to get a bottle. I crossed the street and stood by the sidewalk. Noah came running over to me, "Hi Hannah!" he said. I had been living here for two months now and just about every day Blake sent Noah over to talk to me. Noah always ran back and told him everything I said. The few odd glimpses I had caught of him attracted me to him more. He was a gorgeous looking man.

"Hi, Noah. What's going on?" I asked him.

"Dyl n' Blake are wrestlin' for the last good beer! Me n' Dane n' Frannie are watchin'!" He chirped.

"Who'd ya thinks gonna win?" I asked him. I hoped Blake would. Call me obsessive, but there was something about him that just attracted me.

"Blake's gonna win! Dyl's a wuss!" Noah laughed before whooping as Blake grabbed the beer, "Yah Blake!"

I smiled at Blake. He tipped his hat and stalked back to the house, Noah tailing him. I noticed he crouched down and let the boy on his back. Dyl made his way over to me, "I don't think we've had the pleasure?"

I extended my arm, "Hannah Tyler."

"Dyl Warfield, you'll hafta pardon Blake...shy." Dyl said.

I was taken with Blake, however, not so with Dyl. Sure he was a nice looking guy almost the same features as Blake, but in some way different, "I see. So does Blake have a special someone?"

"Naw...Blake's a loner. After bein' shot down all the time, I see why." Dyl chuckled.

I couldn't belive someone like him could possibly get shot down! I asked Dyl, "Really?"

"Yah, most girls 'round here get frightened off...I told Blake, go to the city." Dyl explained.

"The city?" I asked in confusion.

Dyl shrugged, "Better luck there."

Noah came running down the slop of their front yard, "Dyl! Mama n' Blake say dinner's ready. Mama wants ya to invite Hannah for dinner, too!" he said happily.

"Wan' some dinner?" Dyl asked.

I couldn't see why not; my parents would be working until at least 8:00 PM. "Sure." I said.

Noah grabbed my hand, "Come on! Blake wantsta meet ya!" he piped.

Noah and I headed to their house. I heard Dyl call out, "Dane! Frannie! Dinner's ready!" The two children went running to the house.
Mama invited her over for dinner that night. I didn't wanna talk to her, so I tried to find an excuse not to be at dinner. I mean she was gorgeous. She had short, light, blonde hair and the bright green eyes. From the distance I could see them. Mama made me take off my hat for dinner, leaving my long hair hangin' on my back. I didn't like that at all. While I was washin' up Frannie came in and told me that Dyl said Hannah had a thing for me. I asked her if they were all crazy and she said she saw Hannah staren' at me. Well she was fourteen and at that age where she was noticin' stuff like that. I'd have maybe one chance ta get out of the house. I'm glad I didn't take it.

-4-

The inside of the farmhouse was nice and homey. It really defined the term "country comforts." Everyone except Blake sat around the table; my chair was next to his and next to Noah. Noah explained to me that Blake and Dyl each set at the heads of the table. He also said Mama sits to the right of Blake and guests to the left. "Dane, get Blake!"

Dane got up and stalked to get Blake. He was a lot like his older brother, he never said much and you never saw too much of him. He came back to the table, pulling Blake by the hand. Blake too his seat next to me, only I realized something about my cowboy. My cowboy was a cowgirl. Blake looked over at me and saw the look of shock on my face; she quickly looked down and blessed herself. She said "In the name of the Father, Son, and Holy Spirit...Bless these gifts oh Lord, that we are about to part-take. From you're bounty and through Christ. Amen." The rest of the family did as she did.

Dinner passed; it was quite the affair. All the children fighting for the attention of Blake and their Mama. Blake spoke the them all calmly, every so often smiling at her Mama. Her Mama would smile back and keep motioning towards me. Finally Blake looked at me, "I'm Blake Warfield, pleasure meetin' ya." she said. Her voice was lower, but still feminine. She was still amazing, an amazon. It's times like these I am glad I bat for either team.

I smiled, "Hannah Tyler. Likewise."

Noah giggled, "Blake's gotta crush..."

Blake blushed furiously at the comment and narrowed her eyes at her brother. I decided to save her, "So does Hannah."

She looked and smiled at me. God it was a wonderful smile. "Thanks. Noah n' Frannie, help Mama clear the table. Then I want you to take a bath, Noah. Dane, help Dyl load the truck for tomorrow. No complaints, now shoo!" To my surprise they all went and did what they were told.

Blake looked at me again, "Walk with me?"

"I'd love to." I told her.

So she knew who and what I was. I asked her to walk with me and she said yes! I couldn't belive that. My heart was pounding, and my head was spinning. This was her, the one from my dreams. She didn't realize it, she never would. But I had my chance with her, finally. I wasn't gonna blow this one.

-5-

Blake and I walked a while in silence. We stopped under a large tree and sat for a while. Blake finally broke the silence, "So you ain't scared off by me?"

I laughed, "Why would I be? Some of my best friends are like you. Hell half the time I'm like you." She smiled at me, and I loved it.

"I dreamed about you, Hannah." she told me

"What about?" I asked

She looked down, "Nothin' much. Just you...you were there."

I laughed, "I've dreamed about you too, Blake." It was the truth, I had.

Blake looked over at me, "Would ya mind if I kissed ya?" she asked quietly. She blushed and dropped her head down.

"I'd love it." I told her

She stood up and offered me her hand. With a smile she pulled me up and took of her hat. She gently cupped my face in her hands: they were callused, but her touch was gentle and soft. She slowly leaned down and gently placed a kiss on my lips. Hers were impossibly soft. "Was that alright?" she asked

I smiled at her, "Blake, have you ever done this before?"

Oh God I loved it when she blushed. For someone so big and strong she was very sheepish. Her hands moved from my cheeks to my hips, "Yah, a few times."

"Me too." I said. I slid my arms around her neck and pulled her closer to me. Our lips met a second time and I became lost in an ocean of emotion. This felt like I was finally coming home. I felt myself being lowered to the grass, Blake's body on top of mine. That was bliss. Her hands unbuttoning my shirt; mine unbuttoning hers. Her hands were all over my body, while my hands worked on her pants. That evening our souls connected; it was something I will never forget.

Hannah and me went walkin' after dinner. That evening she made my dream come true, she made me whole again. The feeling of her hands on me was comforting, like the thought of heaven. She was my angel that night, she saved me from bein' alone. I spent most of the night in her arms, just kissin' her and showin' her how I felt about her. She did the same for me. That evening our souls connected. That's somethin' I'll never forget.

-Epilogue-

We're sittin' in our farm house now, Hannah and me. We just wrote down everything that happened seven years ago today. It's our anniversary an' well lets just say we're happy. Mama died a couple years back, she left me the farm. I'm takin' care of Noah and Dane still. Dyl n' Frannie went out on their own. Hannah moved in with us when she graduated, her folks still live across the street. I don' know what my life would be with out Hannah and God willing I'll never find out.

It's time for me to shut up now. All you need to know is that Blake makes me very happy, and we're very much in love...
