-Prologue-
Some people just have no luck at all, or some people have all the luck and they just never know it. This statement holds true in the case of Elaine Quennell. She had so much going for her with that little blonde, everything! Including true love! Never did take much to get them together, that was the easy part, but keeping them together!? HA, that’s was a laugh! But please, I am getting ahead of myself.
Let me introduce myself, I’m Ishtar, not to be confused with some other
goddess. I serve the goddess Aphrodite, I am one of her most trusted associates.
Yah, I am an angel of love, a sarcastic one at that, with a bit of bard in me.
Anyway, the great honor bestowed upon me was guiding Aphrodite’s favorite pair
of soul-mates through life, and to one another. Easy right? Dead wrong. As in
every life the reincarnate of everyone’s favorite warrior is a tad stubborn,
and inconsiderate of our cynosure warrior-bard. And our bard is to...what’s
the word...Arcadian; simple and naïve. Looking at my little friend Ellie, I am
thinking she needs encouraging music, so I’ll leave you for now, to the story.
-1-
The
music in the bar filled the air:
I'm
alone, yeah, I don't know if I can face the night
I'm in tears, and the cryin' that I do is for you
I want your love, let's break the walls between us
Don't make it tough, I'll put away my pride
Enough's enough, I've suffered and I've seen the light
Baby,
Ellie glanced at the other end of the bar, "See them Jay? Looks like they’re having fun... not that I envy them or anything. I mean what have they got that I don’t? Okay, love. But what about the important things in life? Travel...adventure...meeting interesting people?" She cocked her head to the side as the young man whispered something in his lover’s ear. She eagerly nodded as they headed out of the bar. "As for the apples, I can pick my own." She put her empty glass down, "For over a year I have been picking my own apples."
You're
my Angel, come and save me tonight
You're my Angel, come and make it alright
You're my Angel, come and save me tonight
"I hear ya." Jay said. "You really should try to talk to her; this is the third Saturday night you have been like this."
Ellie shook her head as she stumbled to the pay phone, "Just call her, ya chicken shit." She said as she dialed the number. "867-5309" she said as she dialed the number.
Don't
know what I'm gonna do about this feelin' inside
Yes, it's true, loneliness took me for a ride
Without your love, I'm nothing but a beggar
Without your love, a dog without a bone
What can I do, I'm sleepin' in this bed alone
Baby,
The phone picked up and Ellie started sobbing as soon as she heard the angelic voice on the other end, "I needed to hear you, baby. I know we’re over, but I just needed to hear you." Ellie sobbed into the phone. It had been about a year since Ellie had talked to Randi. Their breakup had a lot to do with Ellie wanting Randi to be happy, and have a better life. She did what she thought was best, Randi, however didn’t think it was best. Neither did I, it made my job oh so much harder!
"Ellie? Is that you?" Randi asked. She’d never stopped loving Ellie, she was just angry with her over what had happened. She’d never seen or heard Ellie cry, and she was getting concerned, when there was no response. "Ellie, where are you?"
You're
my Angel, come and save me tonight
You're my Angel, come and make it alright
You're my Angel, come and save me tonight
"At ‘January’s Pub’." Ellie finally answered. She had been drinking a lot that night, largely due to the fact she missed Randi very much. "I needed to hear you, Randi...I’ll hang up now...I...I...wanted to say...I’m...so...rr...y!"
"Yes, Ellie, hang up the phone, but don’t go anywhere, I’ll be there in ten minutes, okay?" Randi said. They lived in the same town, five minutes apart, yet they had managed to avoid each other since they had split. Strange word it is, I had to spend my year playing with their heartstrings.
You're
the reason I live
You're the reason I die
You're the reason I give
When I break down and cry
Don't need no reason why
Baby, baby, baby
"Kay." Ellie said, she hung up the phone, and sulked back to the bar. She looked at the bartender and asked, "Another bourbon?" She threw a five dollar bill down on the bar. She wasn’t one to run tabs, she’d drink what she could afford to pay for at the moment.
The bartender got her another drink, "Keep the money Ellie. This is the last one, it’s on me."
Ellie smiled, "Thanks Jay. I owe ya." She stared into her drink, waiting for Randi.
You're
my Angel, come and save me tonight
You're my Angel, come and make it alright
You're my Angel, come and save me tonight

If the sun refused to shine
I would still be loving you
When mountains crumble to the sea
There will still be you and me
Kind woman, I give you my all
Kind woman, nothing more
About fifteen minutes passed, Randi walked into the bar. She heard the lyrics to this song, it had been Ellie’s favorite, and so true in every way. She just wanted to cry.
Little drops of rain whisper of the
pain
Tears of loves lost in the days gone by
My love is strong, with you there is no wrong
Together we shall go until we die, my my my
Inspiration is what you are to me
Inspiration, look see
Ellie sat about twenty feet away, her black hair hung around her shoulders, she was staring into her now empty glass. Randi took a breath and pushed her way through the sea of bodies, separating her and Ellie. She put a hand on Ellie’s shoulder, who looked up at Randi. The first think Randi noticed, Ellie’s eyes. Ellie’s eyes had always been so bright, and happy. They were dull, they lacked the light that had so many times captivated her. "Oh Elle. How much did you drink?" She asked.
"You came, Randilyn?"
Ellie asked, she couldn’t belive that Randi would ever want to see her again,
yet here she was. She reached up and touched Randi’s face, to her this proved
that Randi was her angel, "I miss
you." She sobbed
And so today, my world it smiles
Your hand in mine, we walk the miles
But thanks to you it will be done
For you to me are the only one, yeah
Happiness, no more be sad
Happiness, I'm glad
"I know, Elle. Come on, we’re gonna go now, and we’ll talk later. Okay?" Randi asked. She couldn’t belive Ellie had used her full name. Well yes she could, Ellie had always be partial to it. She took Ellie’s hand and helped her up, "How much Jay?"
Jay shook his head, "She paid it all already. Glad you came Randi, last time she got like this Ace and Buddy had to carry her out of here." Ace and Buddy, good ole amazon girls, still backing her up.
"Thanks, Jay." She turned to Ellie, "Come on sweetheart, lets go home."
If the sun refused to shine
I would still be loving you
Mountains crumble to the sea
There will still be you and me...
Ellie started walking, they made it to Randi’s car, Ellie had walked, and Ellie asked, "Where’s home, Randi? I don’t want to be where you aren’t..." She trailed off, she didn’t have the courage to talk to Randi sober, but this...this was different, she’d crossed the line. "Randi, I’msosorry." She slurred.
Randi couldn’t belive the woman she’d fallen in love with, who at one time was in complete control could have been reduced to this. Ellie had always been stoic, but at the same time intoxicating. With one look, just one, Randi’s heart would skip a beat, and now Elaine Quennell was, worn, tierd and heartbroken. "Ellie, we’re going to my apartment. Okay?" Randi more told her, than asked her.
Ellie looked over at Randi and nodded, "Okay..." Randi was beautiful as ever in Ellie’s eyes. She had only ever wanted her to be happy. Ellie worked on a farm, she had since she was young, about ten or so. She didn’t have much money, her home was small, and she always felt like she was holding Randi back. She hurt Randi, and she knew she did, however unintentional. The things she’d sometimes say, or things she wouldn’t say. Things she’d do, or wouldn’t do. She’d seen Randilyn Speranza cry more times than she’d care to remember. Randi had always been charming, cute, funny, if not naïve to the ways of the word; she sought out the best in everything. Randi, was still kindhearted, and the fact she came for Ellie, who’d hurt her so badly proved it.
They pulled into the lot of the complex, where Randi lived. Randi helped Ellie out of her little Ford Tempo, and lead her upstairs. Ellie was crying again, she couldn’t stop and this broke Randi’s heart. "Come on Elle, we’re gonna get you in bed." Ellie nodded, and allowed herself to be helped to Randi’s room. Randi started to untie Ellie’s boots, Ellie slid them off. "Come on pant’s off. Can’t sleep in leather." Randi coaxed.
Ellie nodded and clumsily stripped off her leather pants; she dropped them to the floor. "Randi? Why did you come?"
"Lie down Ellie." Randi said, she pushed Ellie down onto the bed. Ellie lay down and looked at Randi, waiting for an answer.
"Why?" Ellie asked again, her eye lids were beginning to close.
"We’ll talk tomorrow, in the morning." Randi said, as she turned to leave the room. The couch looked rather inviting right about now.
"Randi, don’t go? Stay?" Ellie pleaded. She didn’t want to be alone, she didn’t think she could be alone, and Randi was who she needed to be with. Randi shook her head, "Please?" Ellie begged.
Randi smiled, she was
already in her pajamas, Ellie had called late enough, 2:30 AM. "Just till you
fall asleep, okay?" Ellie nodded, as Randi stretched out on the bed next to
her, with out even realizing it, she pulled Ellie close to her, it was like no
time had passed between the two. Ellie let herself be pulled in, she fell
asleep, her head on Randi’s shoulder, speaking softly about a blonde haired
angel. "What happened to you?" Randi whispered, as she to fell asleep.
-3-
The door to Randi’s
apartment opened, Ellie was still asleep against Randi. Randi was awake
thinking, lost in her own thoughts. "Why did I go last nigth? Would Ellie leave again? Would I want her to
stay? Yes, of corse I would. I still love her, I have never stopped..."
"Randi, where are you?!" The voice called, Randi was pulled out of her thoughts, her mother was over for her usual Sunday morning visit. Randi gently lifted Ellie’s head and wormed out from underneath her. She knew Ellie would be up in a minute, give or take a few. She crept out of her room and down the small hallway. "Randilyn?"
"Right here, mother." Randi said. "Ellie is sleeping in the bedroom, lets go have some coffee okay?"
"Ellie is here? I haven’t seen her since you got your own place. How is she?" Maria asked.
"Yah, she got into a bit of trouble last night, so I went and helped her out." Randi explained. She was glad Marie hadn’t questioned her about Ellie being in the bedroom. She had never told her parents that she and Ellie had been more than good friends and roomies. They didn’t even have a clue about her sexual preferences.
"Oh, well I’d love to see her when she wakes up." Maria said as she sat at the table.
"Sounds alright." Randi said as she picked up the coffee pot. She was suddenly glad she’d spent the extra $12.50 on an coffee machine with a timer. She poured the coffee, and finished, "Ellie and I have a bit to catch up on ourselves."
As if on cue, as always, Ellie appeared at the door way in her cloths from the night before, "Yes we do."
Maria jumped up and gave Ellie a hug, "It’s so good to see you!" She smiled.
Ellie returned the hug, "Nice to see you too." She always did like Maria, in fact she had taken to singing a line from an Old Italian song, "HEEY MARIE!" She sang.
The older woman laughed, "Always the charmer. Unfortunately your father is sick, Randi. I should check on him. I’ll call later." She placed a kiss on Ellie’s cheek, and then on Randi’s. She grabbed her coat and purse and left the house.
"Bye Mom!" Randi called, she looked at Ellie and kind of smiled.
"Still haven’t told them?" Ellie asked.
Randi’s face dropped, "Why should I have? I have been single for over a year, and mind you it wasn’t MY choice to be that way!" she raised her voice.
"Tylenol?" Ellie asked pathetically. Randi tossed her a bottle of pain reliever, which Ellie opened and swallowed three of. She was still feeling a bit tipsy, but drinking that much Bourbon would do that to you. "So you haven’t been with anyone else?"
Randi blew out a long breath, "How can you ask that? You know how much I love you, how much I loved you. Trying to love someone else would be pointless, Elle they aren’t you!"
Ellie hung her head, she knew exactly how Randi felt, "I know Randi. I was wrong, and you gotta know I still love you more than I could ever say." She was suddenly glad she had the lingering buzz. "Got any Bourbon?" She asked
Randi shook her head, "No more! Ellie you hurt me, so many times. Every time I forgave you, because I love you. I still love you."
Ellie pulled together all the courage she had, "And I am asking you to forgive me one more time, Randilyn. I can’t live with out you, I can’t breath when you aren’t there. I need you." She said.
Randi heard the emotion in the normally controlled voice, "If you loved me so much, then why did you never want to fuck me?" She spat. This question had been nagging her for all the years they were together. They had never made it past second base, so to speak.
Ellie hung her head, she looked everywhere but Randi, "I didn’t wanna lose you."
"Lose me?" Randi asked. She was completely confused by this confession. As far as Randi was concerned, giving her body as well as her heart and soul to Ellie would make their love, and relationship stronger: bind them together, completely.
"Yah, every time I’d be with someone, they’d leave me shortly after, and I thought if I never did it with you then you wouldn’t ever leave me..." She paused, "But still, every morning I’d wake up and wonder if this would be the day that you’d leave me."
Randi backed Ellie into the wall, "You thought I would leave you?" She poked Ellie’s chest, "What does it take for you to understand that I love you!? I am not going anywhere, now or ever!" She wrapped her arms around Ellie’s neck, and buried her face in her neck, "Now that I have you here, I am not ever letting you go again!"
Ellie tipped Randi’s chin up, "If I’ve learned nothing else in the past year, it’s that my life with out you in it, is a life, that I’d much rather not live." She placed a gentle reassuring kiss on Randi’s lips.
Randi wrapped her arms around Ellie’s neck tighter than before, she felt Ellie’s arms circle her waist, she again buried her face in her tall friend’s neck, "Ellie, last night was my worst nightmare. I never wanted to hear you again, because I knew if I did, I’d go to you. I didn’t want to do that, I was so angry with you. For months after we were over I’d drive by your house and just watch the light in your window, Gods know how many times! I don’t even want to count, and now that I have you Elle, I am never letting you go again!" By now tears were running down both of their cheeks, Randi reached up and gingerly brushed away the tears adorning Ellie’s cheeks.
Ellie on the other hand, had always favored doing things in an ardent fashion, leaned down and kissed away Randi’s tears. She grabbed Randi behind her knee and whisked her off her feet, she started walking toward the couch, "Let me hold you?" She asked
Randi smiled, as she gazed into Ellie’s eyes. Her eyes were truly a window into her soul, when she’d remove the veil that hid them. "Doesn’t look like I’m in a position to decline, now does it?" She felt Ellie drop them both onto the couch.
"I am so sorry, Randilyn. I just want to make things right between us, it doesn’t matter how long it takes, I’m gonna make it right. I love you, Randi." She began sobbing again, she hadn’t cried this much since she was a child. "God Randi I’m so sorry, please don’t make me leave? I’ll do anything Randi, just don’t make me live without you?"
Randi took Ellie’s face in both of her hands, she lifted it up and spoke softly, "Elle, baby? Look at me." Ellie gazed at Randi, and continued to cry. "Ellie, you and I have our whole lives to be together. You’re sorry you left, I’m sorry I didn’t fight. I love you, Elaine, and nothing will change that...ever. Not the money you make, not the house we live in, not even what my family thinks when I tell them I am in love with you. All I want from you is to love me like there’s no tomorrow."
Ellie had to do something and she was at a loss for words. She leaned forward and placed a gentle kiss on Randi’s mouth. She continued to cry as the kiss intensified. Randi’s tongue had found it’s way into Ellie’s mouth, Ellie’s had pulled Randi closer. Randi pulled back and began to trail kisses down Ellie’s neck. Ellie’s hands were caressing every part of Randi, as she stood up. Randi locked her legs around Ellie who had yet to stop crying, she carried Randi to the bedroom. She leaned forward, tenderly placing Randi on the bed, covering the small body with her own. "I love you my angel."
Randi nudged Ellie off of her, Ellie rolled to the side. The smaller woman rolled onto her, she enveloped Randi in her strong arms. "Don’t cry, baby. Everything’s gonna be alright now, I promise."
Ellie reclaimed
Randi’s mouth with her own, she ran her tongue over Randi’s lips, Randi let
her in. She ran her hands through Ellie’s hair; she knew that this time Ellie
would give herself completely. She pulled away breathless, "I love you too, my
bijou." Oh French, the language of love! Gee and I always thought it was
valley girl! This is where I take my leave; it’s a beautiful thing, not for my
eyes to see.
-4-
Hours later, both Ellie and Randi lay trembling. They were certainly inventive; I am definitely going to have to mention these two to Aphrodite. Randi was sprawled on top of Ellie; they were both flushed, and covered in sweat. Ellie rested her cheek against the top of Randi’s head, contentedly playing with a wisp of short hair. "You’re my angel, Randilyn." She whispered as placed at kiss on her forehead.
Randi turned her head
and smiled at Ellie, "And you... you are just my Ellie. My champion, love,
heart, my everything."
-5-
Well Ishhy would love to say that this is the end of the story, but it isn’t. Things just don’t stay simple! Hera’s tits, if everything stayed that calm I’d be out of a job for the next fifty to sixty years. Can’t have that now can we? Well everything was calm for a month or so, until Ellie and Randi decided to move back in together. This brought to light the fact that Randi’s parents still had no idea.
-6-
It had been a long day. Ace, Buddy, Ellie and Randi had moved Randi back into Ellie’s house. They were now sitting in the living room, drinking beer and discussing what Quinny, Ellie’s "dog", actually was.
"Ace is right, Ellie! He looks just like Fido! He’s even small enough!" Randi was laughing at the small dog in her hands. For almost a year now Ace had been telling anyone who would listen that Quinny was not a dog, but a replacement rat, for Fido.
Ellie grabbed her small pet, "Quinny is a dog." As far as the goddess of a six-foot woman was concerned Quinny was perfect. Crazy woman!
"That ain’t no dog, it’s a rat!" Ace started laughing as she interjected her thoughts. Ace was a bit taller than Randi, she had hazel eyes, and a wild mop of curly dirty blonde hair.
Buddy spoke up in defense of her friend, "No it’s a Rat Terrier, they are a breed of dog." Buddy was Ace’s girlfriend. She was about as tall as Ellie was; she had long blonde hair and gray eyes.
"Buddy?" Ace asked.
Buddy looked over to her girlfriend, "Yes?"
"You wanna be sleepin’ alone tonight?" Ace asked as she ran her tongue across her own lips. She took a pull from her beer and waited for an answer.
Buddy looked at all three of the others and gulped down half the bottle of beer in her hand. "Ellie, it’s a rat." She said curtly.
Ellie glared, "Whatsa matter, KELLY!?"
Randi giggled, "She’s pussy-whipped."
Ace covered her mouth; no one called Buddy Kelly, just like no one called her Tiffany. Buddy just narrowed her eye, "Yah, well at least I’m not sleeping on the couch. I’ll be in my favorite spot tonight."
Ellie finished off her beer, "Yah in the Amazon Rain Forest. Comes complete with the monkey noises." She deadpanned.
Randi and Buddy laughed, Ace however did not like being compared to a monkey. "Hey now, I know someone else around here who makes noises!"
Randi looked over at Ellie, and the now happily roaming Quinny, "So do I. She makes the cutest little whimpering puppy noises when you..."
"When you what?" A new voice asked as it entered. It was an older woman’s voice, Cyrene. She looked at her daughter, Randi and their two friends and made a decision, "Nevermind. If they are here I am assuming it’s something a mother shouldn’t hear."
Ace smiled, "Well Cyrene, when you’re right you are right! What brings ya by?"
"Quinny. He needs to go to the vet tomorrow and I told Elaine I’d take him" She walked over and scooped up the dog/rat, taking the opportunity to kiss her daughter and "daughter-in-law" hello and goodbye. "I will be back around noon tomorrow." She said. She left quickly as she came. It wasn’t that she didn’t like Buddy and Ace, but from experience over the last fifteen years, she knew that when they and her daughter were together with booze, it’s best to stay out of it.
"Looks like she’ll meet your parents." Ellie commented, she knew she had to change the subject before the girls knew about her special spot.
"Guess so." Randi said with a smile, "Anyway she makes the cutest little whimpering puppy noises if you take your finger and scratch right here..." Randi moved her hand closer to Ellie who tried to get away from it. She failed miserable, as Randi began scratching her ear. Ellie began to whimper, and Ace and Buddy lost it in a fit of laughter. "See!?"
"Stop..." Ellie whimpered and then added, "Or else."
"Or what?" Randi teased
Ellie moved Randi’s finger and jumped on the arm of Buddy’s chair, she whispered something in her ear, Buddy looked over at Randi, her eyes were huge, "You like doing THAT!?" She couldn’t belive it.
Randi blushed, "Ellie you didn’t tell her what I think you told her? Did you?" Ellie smiled sweetly at Randi, she knew she was in trouble, or at least a little.
"Tell me!?" Ace demanded. Buddy leaned over and whispered her little tidbit of information in Ace’s ear, Ace looked over at Randi and asked, "With a woman like Ellie you’d rather do it yourself?" She bit her bottom lip waiting for an answer.
"Sometimes...but it’s not like I hide. Ellie is usually right there watching." She threw that on the table.
"Ellie, you lucky bitch!" Buddy said as she pulled Ace up. "We should get going, good luck with the parents."
"Yah, don’t be so blunt about it." Ace added as they went down the stairs, and out the door.
Ellie had by now overtakes Buddy’s chair, Randi sat down on her lap, "Maybe you should have told her what ‘doing IT alone’ actually referred to." Randi pointed out.
"If their minds are in the gutter let them be. You and I both know you won’t let me paint your toe nails, so I’ll have to settle for watching." Ellie sniggered, and smiled.
"You’re really not such a beast." Randi teased, as she yawned and fell asleep, they had a long day ahead of them tomorrow, and she wasn’t sure she was ready for it.
-7-
Randi woke up, she wasn’t sure how she got to bed, but she was there, her head resting on Ellie’s chest. She noticed she was completely on top of Ellie, not that she minded, it was her favorite place to sleep, she was just ready for Ellie to wake up. She glanced at the clock, "9:30, Mom and Dad are coming at 11:00." She smiled at Elle; sleep took so many years off her face. She looked almost childlike. Randi kissed her gently, "Come on baby, wake up." Ellie stirred but didn’t get up. It is a rare day indeed that Randi was up before Ellie. "Come on, Mom and Dad will be here in an hour and a half..." Randi tried to coax her awake, it didn’t work. "Fine Elle, you asked for it..." She began crawling down Ellie’s body leaving a trail of kisses, Ellie woke up, but feigned sleep, curious to see how far Randi would go. Randi placed a kiss where Ellie’s leg met her torso.
Ellie fought to keep in control, she couldn’t, "Angel..." She moaned, she knew she lost this game.
Randi had to fight herself from going any farther, she wanted to but she knew her parents, "I knew you were up." She said
"Don’t stop?" Ellie more asked that demanded, "Please?" She was terribly turned on at this point.
"Mom and Dad will be here soon, I have to shower, and so do you." Randi told her.
"Shower with me?" Ellie suggested
"We both know if I do that, my parents will walk in on time, and we still won’t be ready." Randi wanted to give in, badly.
"That’s not fair, Angel...if you don’t I’ll do it myself." She threatened, unsure if she’d actually carry out the threat.
Randi sat down at the foot of the bed, "No you won’t. You’re just saying that." She looked away from Ellie, she hoped Ellie wouldn’t, but she also knew Ellie. When she said something, she usually did it. She looked over to her lover and to her surprise; she watched Ellie slid her hand down her body. "Ellie don’t?" Randi begged.
"Come here then..." Was all she said. It was easier than it had ever been, now she wasn’t just thinking of Randi, Randi was there naked and aroused watching her, finger herself. Randi crawled over to Ellie, while she used her own hand Randi licked, sucked and nipped everywhere. It was one of the most interesting feelings in the world. She felt Randi’s hand cover her own, Randi tucked away one of Ellie’s fingers and added her own as the thrusts became harder, and more rapid, Randi took Ellie’s other hand and placed it between her own legs. "Randi...gods, Randi!"
Randi moaned in pleasure, "Harder Elle..." Ellie did as was asked as she let herself go. Seconds later Randi could be heard, she was a screamer. "Happy now?"
Ellie smiled,
"Very."
-8-
Maria and Michael came in the door at about 10:53 PM, the came baring gifts of Pizza and French Fries. It seemed to be a pleasant affair, "Randi, isn’t that your coffee maker?" Maria asked.
"Yah, it is." Randi told her, "So is everything else in the kitchen."
Mike looked down at his plate and realized that is was in fact Randi’s, "Why are all your things here if you have an apartment?" He asked.
Ellie spoke up, "She moved back in with me." She popped a fry in her mouth.
"Why?" Asked Maria.
Randi walked over from the counter and placed a glass in front of her mother; she then walked over to Ellie and put her hands on her lover’s shoulders, "Because I love her."
Mike nodded, "I know you do. You have been friends since your senior year, but why move back here?" He asked, and Maria agreed.
Randi shook her head, her parents were slow on the uptake, "Mom, Dad, I don’t just love her, I am in love with her."
Ellie nodded, "And I’m in love with her...so she came back to live with me."
Maria was shocked, she knew of Ellie’s sexual preferences, but never thought her daughter shared them, "So you are saying you’re gay?"
Randi was about to answer when the door opened, a small bark and two laughs were a clue that Cyrene hadn’t brought Quinny home, but Buddy and Ace had, and both Ellie and Randi knew why. "Ellie!?" Buddy called. They came in the kitchen.
Marie and Mike were at a loss for words. Standing in front of them were two women, the shorter one wearing a flannel shirt wit the sleeves cut off, unbuttoned with a sport bra underneath, blue jeans with a hole in the knee, and construction boots. The taller one was wearing a Budwieser T-shirt with the sleeves cut off, black jeans and boots similar to the others. What shocked them most was the fact the taller on had her arm around her girlfriend, and they were holding a rat. "Hello, Mr. and Mrs. Speranza." Buddy said with her usual impeccable speech.
"Maria, Mike, these are our friends, Ace and the tall one is Buddy." Ellie got up and took Quinny from Ace, "And this is my dog, Quinny. Ace, Bud, they are Randi’s parents."
"Pleasure to meet you." Buddy said
"Yah, nice to finally meet ya." Ace smiled.
Mike tensed up, "Are you two gay?"
Buddy bit her lower lip and smiled, "Yes, we are." She placed a hand over Ace’s mouth. She knew Ace would probably blow a fuse everyone knew she hated that question.
Maria nodded, "And Ellie and Randilyn are gay, and lovers no less."
" That ‘bout sums it up." Ellie said. It was obvious to anyone who listened that Ace and Ellie had been the ones to pick up the "farmer slang", as some of the locals liked to call it. Buddy, however had never started using it.
Ace caught Buddy off guard; she licked her palm. Buddy quickly removed her hand and wiped it off, "That is really disgusting, Tiff." Ace would allow Buddy to call her Tiff, just because she didn’t like the way Ace sounded when screamed during sex.
"Yah well what do ya want from me?" Ace asked with a grin.
Randi shot out, "Bud, don’t even answer that, I am sure we already know!"
The four of them laughed, while Mike and Maria sat watching their daughter become everything they hadn’t liked about Ellie. Don’t get me wrong here, they both loved Ellie like a daughter, but there were just some things that they never wanted to rub off on Randi, like sexual orientation, perversion and the like. "Randilyn, watch your mouth in front of your mother!" Mike shouted.
All four women stood quietly, "I need some time to deal with this, I will call you tomorrow." Maria said as she grabbed Mike’s hand. They walked out of the house silently.
Ellie rubbed her head, "Why didn’t mother bring Quinny home?" she asked
"Same reason she didn’t bring Quinny to the vet, we did Aunt Ellie!" Ace laughed.
"Your sister-in-law had a baby boy. We told Cyrene we would do it." Buddy said.
Randi smiled at Ellie, "We thought you just wanted to see what happened with my parents."
"That’s the other reason." Ace added.
"I think ya’ll scared them comin’ in here dressed like that. They could tell too easily..." Ellie observed
"Well there is really no point in hiding it, now is there?" Buddy asked.
Randi pushed Ellie down into a chair and wriggled into her lap, "No. Now that they know I don’t have to keep my hands to myself."
Ace and Buddy looked at each other and shrugged, "Ellie, you gonna be at work tomorrow?"
"Yup, we have a lot to do with the horse stables." She said with a grimace.
"Well then, we’ll see you tomorrow. We have some work we need to go and get done." Buddy told her.
"Yah, like workin’
in the sack. Later!" Ace dragged Buddy out of the small house, and left Randi
and Ellie in a small fit of laugher.

Maria called Randi the next morning, when Ellie went to work. She asked her daughter to lunch when she had her break at noon, Randi agreed. She wanted to know what her mother was thinking, and how she felt. Maria wanted to talk to her daughter, just not around Ellie. She knew how protective Ellie could be, and wanted none of that.
Randi walked into the pizza parlor and saw her mother, she sat down and smiled, "I’m sorry I am late. The shop was busy and the owner, me couldn’t get away."
"I understand," Maria began, "Randilyn, why Ellie?" She asked
"Why not?" Randi asked wishing she’d called Ellie before she got into the parking lot of the pizza parlor. She’d answer, whenever Ellie did show up.
Maria shrugged, "So who were your friends? Their names are a bit...mannish. Don’t you think?"
"Well, mother do they strike you as women who look like Tiffany and Kelly?" Randi asked sarcastically.
"I suppose not." Maria replied, hoping she would get some answers soon.
Ellie sauntered into the parlor glancing around for Randi. She spotted her and Maria in a corner table, discussing something. She made her way to them, she dropped a kiss on Randi’s cheek, "Hey Angel."
"Hey yourself." Randi laughed as Ellie sat down.
"You should have called me before, I’d have been here already." Ellie smiled as she put an arm around Randi’s shoulder, "Hey Maria."
Randi sniffed the air, "I know... you smell." She laughed
Ellie smirked, "Well miss ‘I own a coffee shop, so I always smell good’, some of us prefer to muck stables for a living. I am one of those people."
Randi kissed Ellie’s nose, "I can deal with it. Any way, what did you want to talk about, Mom?"
"How can you two say you’re in love? It’s wrong." Maria really wanted to know. In her mind the person sitting in front of her wasn’t her Randi. Her Randi wouldn’t be with Ellie. She thought, "Where did I go wrong with her? I always tried to raise her right."
"That’s easy, because I do love her. Why do you love her Maria?" Ellie asked
"I love her because she’s my daughter." Maria replied
Ellie nodded and grinned, "And I love her because she’s my Angel. There’s nothing wrong with it."
"Aside from the fact it’s unnatural...I suppose not." Was all Maria could say.
Randi glared at her mother, "Well did you ever stop and think that it is natural to us? We didn’t choose to be this way, it just happened."
"I thought you were more open-minded than that that. Guess I was wrong." Ellie said, "Ready to go, baby?"
Randi nodded, "Call me when you’re ready mother, but not till then." She got up and was escorted by Ellie to the door.
Maria looked at the two
leaving, she noticed Ellie held the door for Randi, held her hand, did
everything men were expected to do for women in her day. Mike never did that for
her, but she wasn’t ready to accept Randi like that.

"Aww she’ll get over it." Ace told Randi.
"Did your parents get over it? Did they understand?" Buddy asked
"Well..." Ace started
"Well my ass! Ace they still give me the most Gods awful looks whenever I am around." Ellie laughed
"Okay so ya gotta point. But maybe they’d have taken it better if they’d found out some other way?" Ace pointed out.
"How did they find out?" Randi asked
"Do tell. I’d like to know." Buddy added. She had moved to the small down of Pleasant Mountain, at the end her junior year in high school. Ace and Ellie had been friends for ever, since they were young. They’d known each other for over fifteen years, and Buddy was curious.
Ace looked at Ellie, who in turn looked back, "Well, we’re a little more than friends in the start of our junior year, and well Ellie came over and spent the night. My ma walked in on us, and we were kinda in the middle of something’..."
"And her ma didn’t take it to well and she don’t like me too much because of it. I mean she’s nice when she has to be...but after a week we decided we were better friends than lovers. So we were kinda like, umm..." Ellie trailed off.
"Best friends with benefits." Ace finished
Buddy looked between the two of them, "So ya’ll were fuck buddies?" she asked
Randi, Ace and Ellie all stared at Buddy. She almost never swore, and she didn’t like to use slang. Randi shook it off first, "Yah?" she asked
Ellie nodded, "Until Buddy came along. Then you, Randi-girl. Soon as Ace and Buddy started goin together we stopped."
Buddy shook her head, "Except that one night, in the summer. But that doesn’t count..."
Ace and Ellie grinned, Ace shot in, "Cos if it does you’re as fucked as I am...One night I’ll never forget!"
Ellie blushed and looked over to Randi, "Sorry guys, I’ll take Randi over than night, any day of the week. Nothing quite compares."
Randi leaned back into Ellie, "Thank you Elle, and I’ll take you over anyone else, any day."
Buddy and Ace smiled,
"Awww!" They drawled. But deep
inside they knew what Randi and Ellie said was the truth.
Epilogue
Well as you can see, they found each other, and I think they’ll stay together this time. Or they better, because it’s too hard getting them back together. Not that I don’t like my job, I enjoy seeing them change from lifetime to lifetime. I was especially fond of when bardy-kins was a teacher and our favorite warrior was her student. But that’s another story for another time.
Will there be more to the story of Elaine Quenelle and Randilyn Speranza? Possibly, I don’t know. All I know is that I guess I learned something from them, like true love doesn’t die or fade. Possibly, "Absence makes the heart grow fonder." Or it could be, that I had no idea that someone could actually enjoy watching their lover masturbate. In any case a lesson was learned. "So until next time, take care of yourselves and each other."
