Angel Of Mine

Disclaimers: Resemblance to some different characters was totally intended. The characters however are mine, except Macy. She's still the same twisted bitch as she was on television with a different name.

Sex/Violence: WARNING: This work contains some graphic scenes of rape and domestic abuse. It also contains F/F non-consensual sex. If you are sensitive to this type of thing, please don't read any farther than this. You must be 17 to read this. It's just like the R-rated movies, I need ID. In this case, fake ones are sooo not acceptable! Thanks.

Language/Drugs: The language in some parts it horrible, I won't lie about this. However there is no drug use here. Again, I apologize for the crass language, but I felt it was essential to the tone of the story. Sorry.

Thanks: Becky, Becky, Becky! Where would I be without you? Probably wallowing in a giant pool of misspelled words and grammatical errors. Olly...genius useless item. *thumbs up* And Mandy... feedback is always welcome. All comments welcome, unless from "Alf" (refer to next disclaimer) at LittleStick2@yahoo.com

No Thanks: Call this Bard immature, but I have to do this. I want to send a big ole' F*ck off to a certain someone who has made it quite clear that everyone reading this (and any alt fan fiction) has to be sick, twisted, or demented. I'd like to take a moment to remind her, again, that none of us are...not even me. (However, that topic is up for debate. That's another scroll.)

-Prologue-

"Now get the hell out, ya dumb bitch!" Macy Neilson yelled as she hurled a work boot at her longtime girlfriend. She had been out with her friend until three in the morning, and Macy wouldn't stand for that. Granted, she'd often not come home at all.

"Macy!?" Iris pleaded as the boot made contact with her head. She didn't want to upset her, it just seemed to happen often. Every time it did she went back and as far as she knew this time wouldn't be any different. She fell to the ground as Macy kicked her the rest of the way out the door. She grimaced as her car keys hit the right side of her face and sliced her open near the eye.

"Don't come back, Iris!" She yelled like so many other times. She slammed the door shut and the lights of the small house went out.

Iris Regan pulled herself off of the ground and decided to go to the only place she knew she could. She got into her car and headed to the other side of town.

-1-

The doorbell was ringing as a lanky figure lounged on an old Victorian couch. "Shlameezle Shlamazzle, Hosenfeffer Corperated...." As "Laverne and Shirley" began the figure pulled herself of her bed/couch and headed to the door. Four in the morning and someone else was awake? She reached her front door and opened it; her face dropped at the sight of her best friend. "Iris?" she asked. The small blonde woman looked horrible. Her face was bruised and cut and God only knew what else.

"Corin..." Iris sobbed as she practically fell into the arms of her best friend.

Easily Corin scooped up her friend and carried her to the sofa. Laying her down she sat beside her, "Did Macy do this?" she asked. Iris nodded and Corin growled, "I'm gonna kill her, Iris."

Iris rested her head on Corin's lap, "Please, Cor. Just leave her alone...she's not worth it."

"Look what she did to you..." Corin began. Quickly Iris cut her off.

"We'll talk about it tomorrow." She said as she slipped into sleep.

Corin looked down at her friend. She'd always loved Iris, since she could remember. Iris had been with Macy for about four years; Macy had been beating her for three. Corin leaned her head back and brushed a stray piece of hair out of Iris's eye. She thought, "If she won't love you...you know I always will."

Iris woke up around ten in the morning. She snuggled closer to Corin who somehow ended up spooned behind her. She felt a lump on her feet; Corin's two black mutts, Cheech and Chong. In the past two years Iris realized she'd fallen for Corin. The fact that she was with Macy didn't make anything easier. She never knew what to expect from day to day; the fact she wasn't happy never mattered to Macy. She put her hand over Corin's, which was holding her protectively and thought, "Corin McQuire, what am I gonna do with you? Or Macy, or anyone for that matter."

Breaking the moment, she heard someone pounding on the door and yelling, "Open up, McQuire! I know she's in there!"

Corin's eyes snapped open at the noise. Cheech and Chong were barking and growling by this time at the door. "Shit...Iris..." she moved her hand and noticed her friend was half across the room. She shot up and grabbed Iris's arm, "Lemme deal with her? Go in the bathroom and just keep quiet, please?"

Iris couldn't resist her friend, she never could. She hugged her friend close, "Alright." and she went.

Corin walked to the door and opened it. Macy was standing there looking very pissed off. "Whatcha want, Macy?" she asked.

"I know you got her in there. I want her now." Macy demanded.

Corin gave Macy her best confused look, "What the hell are you talking about?"

"Iris. She left last night and I know she's here. Where else does she go after we fight?" she asked.

"You mean after you beat the shit out of her." Corin corrected.

"No, fight. Now send her out here." Macy snarled. The tall blonde had no patience for Corin. She never did and never would. She always suspected something between HER IRIS and the brunette bitch. She never even made an effort to be civil to Corin when she was around.

"She ain't here so just go home or I'll sick Cheech and Chong on ya!" Corin said. She was trying to keep Cheech and Chong from bolting out the door. They hated Macy and always had.

Macy shrugged and smiled, "Terrified. I know she's here...you reek of her perfume. I'll be back..." She turned around and walked away.

Corin wasted no time closing and locking the door. She ran up the stairs to find Iris; there was no way she was going back to Macy. Iris came out of the bathroom and sat on the couch. Corin sighed as she sat down by her friend, "You need to let me take care of your face."

"But it's gonna hurt..." Iris complained. She hated blood and she hated pain.

Corin pulled her off her feet and into the kitchen. She pushed Iris into the chair and collected a steak from the freezer. "Hold the meat on your bruise so I can get the cleaning solution." Iris took the meat and Corin disappeared for a few minutes. She came back with peroxide and a couple butterfly stitches. Kneeling in front of her, Corin started applying the stuff.

Iris jumped, "Corin! Ouch..." she said. She looked like she was going to cry, but not from the pain, the stress of the day was already overwhelming.

Corin quickly put the little Band-Aids on the cut and managed to get the steak off and inspect the bruise. She shook her head, "You're not goin' back there."

"Cor, we've already had this discussion. I'd have no place to go if I left and she'd just come after me..." Iris told her. She started to cry...hard.

Corin pulled her crying friend up and into a hug. "Hey...s'alright. Look, you can stay here as long as you want and if she comes here me and Cheech n' Chong will protect you. We'll get your things and everything's gonna be fine...I promise, Iris."

Iris nodded as she held onto her friend. She knew Corin meant everything she said, even about the two hamsters she called dogs. She felt completely safe and if she had her way she'd never leave. She asked, "I can stay here?"

"As long as you want..." Corin told her.

"Forever?" Iris asked.

Corin nodded, and kissed her friend's forehead, "If forever's what you want, then you can have it. You know I've got time." She meant every word she said. Even though it might kill her, if Iris wanted forever than it would be forever.

"Get my stuff?" she asked.

"May as well, Iris. Let's go."

-2-

Iris and Corin entered Iris's house. The place was a complete mess; clothes, tables, dishes, and anything else you can imagine strewn all over. "Toby?" Iris called. She didn't care about her things, just her Bulldog. The big dog came trotting out from under the table and sat at her feet.

"She really fucked this place up, didn't she?" Corin asked.

"Yah, she did. Come on, let's just get everything and get out." She suggested as she scratched behind Toby's ear. "Can you get the leash and dog stuff from the kitchen? I'm gonna get my clothes."

"Another dog?" Corin gaped. She had enough with Cheech and Chong running around, now a Bulldog.

"I'm not leaving him with Macy. I bought him, he's mine, and she can't have him. Besides he's been my family for six years..." Iris pleaded.

"Alright...come on boy, we're gonna get ya some food." She went and the dog followed.

Iris quickly packed a bag and made her way over the clutter. She grabbed a couple of shoe boxes and packed her irreplaceable things. She didn't have much, being as Macy threw almost all of it away. The last things she packed were her collection of plastic milk container rings. She thought, "Completely useless, yet I'll never be able to get rid of them!" She made her way to the kitchen to grab her favorite glasses and bowls. Not to mention her silverware and Tupperware. No way Macy was keeping her domestic things. She smiled as she took Macy's favorite Mickey Mouse glass. Iris thought, "What the hell? I paid for this!" Corin yelled back, "Did you pay for the bed!?"

"Yeah!" Iris called back.

"How 'bout the frame!?"

"Yeah, why!?" Iris called back. She came into the living room and saw Corin pulling her mattress toward the front door.

She smiled as she pushed the mattress through the door, "Cos' we're taking it."

Iris had to laugh. She smiled and thought, "Leave it to Corin to make sure it gets done in style!" She finally hooked up Toby to the leash and led him to Corin's truck. She smiled at the sight of her mattress tied to the roof of it. "Thank you Corin."

They climbed in the car, "Anything for you. You know that."

"I know that." Iris echoed as she thought, "I just wish you meant anything..."

-3-

Iris was in the kitchen making dinner. They decided since the steak had thawed they might as well eat it. Corin had set up the "new bed" in the bedroom. Judging by the three sleeping dogs on top of it, it wouldn't be getting much human use. The phone rang and Iris picked it up, "Hello?"

"I knew you were there..."

"Shut up, Macy."

"Come home? I miss you." Actually, Macy just missed the bed and Toby. She also didn't like the fact that she'd be sleeping alone. Then there was the fact she had no kitchenware and her Mickey Mouse glass was gone.

"Not coming back this time." Iris said as Corin slinked into the room. She held out her hand for the phone

Corin picked up the phone and snarled, "I told you leave her alone."

"I told you no. I want my dog and my bed and my cup and my girl! Now!"

"No." Corin snapped as she slammed the phone down.

"Handled that perfectly, Cor." Iris chided. She went to the stove and put the steak on two plates.

"Did, didn't I?" Corin smiled. She then turned serious, "Can I trust you to stay put when I go to work?"

"No." Iris answered honestly. She wanted to stay with Corin, but her mind kept patronizing her. She felt that Macy needed her and she needed to help her.

"Then you're coming with me..." Corin said. She wasn't taking a chance on Iris going back to Macy; she knew exactly what Macy would do.

Iris frowned, "I have to sit for five hours at a smelly bar while you mix drinks for horny women?" she asked.

"Yes...unless I can trust you to stay put." Corin said as she put a piece of meat in her mouth.

"You can trust me." Iris said. She meant it half-heartedly.

"Good." Corin said.

-4-

Iris stood behind the bar smiling at a frequent customer. It was about three hours into her shift and she had been worried all night. She did trust Iris, just not Macy. She smiled and nodded like she had heard a word the blonde woman said and then excused herself.

Iris stood in front of her old house. She was waiting for someone to open the door. Macy had called and begged for her to come home. Just to talk. Iris went just like Macy knew she would. Macy opened the door and pulled Iris in by her hair. She spat out, "You're fucking her aren't you?"

Iris's eyes snapped open as she shook her head, "No! I swear Mace, nothing like that's going on!"

Macy pinned her against a wall and landed a blow to her stomach, "Don't lie to me, slut! I smelled your perfume on her this morning!"

Iris winced as Macy's fist connected with her mouth. A spray of blood flew from her lip as she started sobbing, "I didn't sleep with her!"

"Like fuck you didn't!" Macy yelled as she took off her belt. She cracked Iris's sides with it hard.

Iris screamed. She knew Corin was right and she knew there was nothing she could do now to stop Macy. She decided to plead, "Please, stop!"

Corin called home again and there was no answer. The machine picked up, "It's Corin and I'm not here. So what's your story?" She slammed down the phone and let out a frustrated sigh. "Billie...I needa go."

Billie smiled, "Hot date?"

"No. Iris is in trouble...she's not picking up and she just broke up with Macy..." Corin started to explain.

"No, say no more." She turned around, "Sarah and Kat!?

The twins came running over, "Take over the bar for the night. Sarge and I have to take care of something."

Two nods, "No problem, boss."

"Billie?" Corin asked.

"Hey, you ain't leavin' me outta this one. Besides we both know how Macy can be...you lead in and get Iris, I'll get Macy." Billie said. She and Corin had been pretty close for like...ever.

"Alright...we check my apartment first. She might be sleeping." Corin rationalized.

"Alright." Billie agreed as they ran out the door. They mounted their motorcycles and were off.

Macy laughed as Iris fell to the ground. She kicked a few times at her ribs. "You'll never leave me again, Iris. Next time I'll kill you." she said as she cracked the belt a few more times against Iris's back. She picked her up and carried her across the room; she reached the living room and threw her onto the couch. "Now we'll see who makes you feel better, huh? Me or the brunette bitch!" She straddled Iris's hips.

"God, no, Macy! P...p...please?" she managed to squeak out between sobs. Macy's answer was too crush her mouth with a venomous kiss. She held Iris's hands above her head, making impossible for her to move.

Billie and Corin burst into the Corin's apartment. Toby, Cheech and Chong were all sitting on the floor whimpering. Corin addressed them , "Hey boys. Where's Iris?"

Billie and Corin scoured the house. They found nothing and knew that Iris had gone to see Macy. "Shit! God only knows what's going on!" Corin yelled.

Billie frowned, "Let's go, Sarge." They ran from the house and jumped on their bikes. They knew they had to make it to Macy's and fast.

Iris began wailing as Macy pulled her jeans off. This wasn't right and she didn't deserve it. She began to struggle in vain, earning her a punch in the jaw. Macy smiled down, "Relax... I promise you'll like it."

"Corin's gonna kick your ass!" Iris cried even harder. She thought, "I should have listened to Corin. She'll never forgive me for this..."

Macy glared at her, "Never let me hear you say her name again." She thrust three of her fingers into Iris.

She screamed, "STOP!" She tried to move herself away from Macy, but it didn't help at all. She started pleading, "Please, don't! Stop, Macy!"

Macy didn't stop; she just kept forcing herself into Iris. "You fucking cunt! You want me to stop so you're big dyke friend can do it!"

"No! You're hurting me, stop!" Iris pleaded. She managed to get her hand free and grabbed Macy's.

"Fuck you!" Macy snarled as she pushed harder. Iris felt herself bleeding.

Billie and Corin stopped in front of Macy's house. Corin was ready to charge in; Billie grabbed her arm. "What did they teach us in combat?" Billie asked her.

"Formulate a plan, stay calm, set up, execute...not necessarily that order." Corin replied. She'd spent four years in the army and made her way to Sergeant. In time it became too much and she and Billie left.

Billie nodded, "So calm down, here's the plan. If we burst in there then she's liable to kill her. Neither of us want that. So..."

Corin nodded feeling a rush of everything coming back to her. "The back window is always unlocked. Macy broke it last year. We sneak in that way and we be careful about it." she said.

Billie nodded, "We don't know what's happened, so the rest has to be improv...alright? Let's go, Sarge."

They headed around back without making a sound. Corin, being the taller of the two, pushed open the window. She helped Billie in then climbed in herself. They heard Iris's crying, "Please, Macy. Stop!?"

"FUCK YOU!" Macy screamed.

Billie and Corin knew it was serious. They quietly made their way down the hall to the living room. Corin saw Macy on top of Iris and she lost it. "Get the hell off of her..." she yelled as she charged Macy.

"What the..." Macy looked up as the tall brunette and curly haired bitches jumped her. Billie grabbed her and Corin landed a punch to her face. Billie threw her back into a wall, where she hit her head. It split open and she fell to the ground with a thud.

"Call the police, Billie!" Corin yelled as she ran to Iris. She shook her head and did all she could think to do - pull Iris's pants back up. She didn't want to risk farther humiliation to her friend. Corin kneeled down by the couch and looked at her hysterical friend. "Iris, I'm here...calm down. No one's gonna hurt you again." she said reassuringly.

Iris forced herself to sit up; it hurt badly, but she had to. She was still sobbing and all she could say was, "Hold me?"

Corin got up and slid onto the couch. She gently took Iris into her arms and rocked her back and forth. "You didn't listen, Ris. I told you not to come here..." Iris looked up at her, she was desperately trying to get back in control. Corin leaned down and gingerly kissed her lips. She said, "I love you, Iris. I never wanted to see you hurt like this..."

Iris burrowed her face in Corin's chest and began sobbing all over again. "Corin..."

Billie came back into the room and said, "Sarge, the cops are here...and the ambulance."

"Alright..." Corin said.

-8-

Corin sat beside Iris's bed. She had been in the ambulance with her and refused to leave. Iris opened an eye and saw Corin crying. Corin hadn't cried for a very long time. Iris closed her eye and listened to her friend. She didn't want to see this and she didn't want to hear it either. Corin brought Iris's hand to her lips, "I love you, Iris. God, I love you so much."

Iris opened her eyes again and whispered, "Come up here, Cor."

Corin looked up as Iris who moved over. Corin pulled herself to her side and wrapped her arms, carefully around her friend. Iris felt a gentle kiss placed on her neck. "You alright?"

Iris jumped a little and then settled down. She said, "I am now..." She rested her hands over Corin's as they spent the rest of the night asleep.

-9-

"Corin, you said you loved me." Iris said thoughtfully. They were laying on their couch/bed together. Iris refused to sleep alone for the past two weeks and Corin hadn't forced the issue.

"I know...that's because I do." Corin said absently. She didn't want to make any waves right now.

"Like a friend, or lover?" Iris asked. She was curious now and hopeful that she could possibly be with the one she loved.

Corin paused and gently rolled Iris over. She was careful not to aggravate any of her injuries. She slowly brought her lips to Iris's. Iris was surprised, but returned the kiss. When they finally separated Corin told her, "Like my best friend and my lover... Does that change anything between us?" she asked tentatively.

"Yes." Iris admitted. She continued, "It means I can try to start my life over with the one I love more than anything else." She rested the palm of her hand against Corin's cheek.

Corin pulled her close, "Come here, Angel of mine. Tomorrow starts a new life for both of us..." Iris kissed her friend's lips gently. It built for a few minutes until they were both breathless. Corin brushed some hair from Iris's brow and said, "If it wouldn't hurt you, I'd make love to you right now."

Iris relaxed half on the couch/bed and half on Corin. She lay her head on Corin's shoulder and said, "We've got time. "I love you, Corin."

Corin held her close, "I love you too." She said.

As Iris snuggled closer to Corin they both fell asleep secure in the knowledge that tomorrow was in fact, a new beginning.

-Epilogue-

Iris often wondered why I called her Angel of mine. She said if anything I was her angel, not the other way around. What she doesn't realize is that she saved me from myself. I had nothing other than my dogs and a shitty bartending job. I still have my dogs and I still have my shitty job, but now I have hope. Iris is my reason to live; she gave that back to me. I'm in love with Iris Regan and I always have been. Only difference... Now the Angel of mine knows it. Sergeant Corin X. McQuire, signing out.

The End.
