Darkness From Space

As the temple doors closed behind them, Megan and Caitlin felt apprehensive. Syreene said they were expected. That meant the Goddesses were expecting them. Megan was particularly nervous. She and the Goddesses weren’t on the best of terms. She had never had much use for them but now she needed their help. Something deep inside her told her that the Goddesses had the answer to defeating the Dark Sorceress. Something else was bothering her. A feeling that she knew this creature. Megan tried to put it out of her mind but the feeling wasn’t too far away.
The temple was built in the style of the temples of ancient Greece. Columns that appeared to be made of marble held it up. The walls were adorned with paintings, carvings and other forms of art dedicated to not one but all three goddesses. Various chalices and urns also sat upon pedestals, declaring their adoration of Athena, Artemis and Aphrodite. The altar was empty except for a ceremonial cup, a silver dish, three candles and a fire wand.
They approached the altar slowly. They were an interesting pair. Megan was a human woman with fair skin. She was tall with long blonde hair. She was dressed in gold armor with a white cape. Her deep blue eyes seemed to go on forever. Her figure was very voluptuous. Caitlin on the other hand was only half-human. Her mother was a Kettelian. The Kettelians were evolved from cats. Caitlin was several centimeters shorter than Megan and had a mane of long reddish blonde hair. Her small frame was covered with golden fur. Her eyes were green and silted like a cat’s. She had a long tail that ended with a dark brown tuft. It was almost never still. While she was not as voluptuous as Megan’s, she was very full figured by Kettelian standards.
"Well, what do we do now?" asked Caitlin.
"I think we light the candles and wait. Syreene said we were expected," Megan said. She picked up the fire wand, pressed a button and a small flame appeared. Megan touched the flame to each candle. After the third candle was lit she pressed a second button on the wand to extinguish the flame. "All right goddesses. You were expecting me, so lets get started. You know why I’m here!" she shouted.
Three women appeared before the pair. The first woman was tall with long black hair and steely gray eyes. She was clad in armor from head to toe. This was Athena, Goddess of Wisdom. The second was shorter than the first. She was clad in hunting clothes and carried a bow and quiver. Her hair was brown in color and came down to her shoulders. Her brown eyes keenly observed everything. She was Artemis, Goddess of the Hunt. The third was a voluptuous blonde, clad in lingerie. Her blue eyes had that come-hither look in them. She was of course Aphrodite, Goddess of Love.
Aphrodite spoke first. "Hey warrior babe, long time no see!"
"Not long enough!" growled Megan. As Xena, she had numerous dealings with Aphrodite, and didn’t trust her as far as Gabrielle could throw her.
Athena gave her sister goddess a warning look. "Be at peace Warrior! We have come to help!" she said.
"Alright, I’m listening!" Megan said impatiently.
"We know of the enemy that faces you! You have the key to her downfall! You posses what she seeks. Two parts, each separate unto itself, joined together as one to make a whole. That is the key!" said Athena.
"Remember this, always trust your instincts! When all seems lost, you will know deep down what to do!" Artemis said.
"Always trust your hearts and each other!" Instructed Aphrodite. "That rings true, doesn’t it?" Aphrodite held up her hand and wiggled her fingers.
The emphasis on the word ring made Megan very uncomfortable. She wasn’t sure she was ready to take that step yet. She was just getting a handle on herself after being shut off for so long.
With that Athena and Artemis disappeared. Aphrodite remained behind. It was clear something was on her mind.
"Look, I know you don’t like me, and for good reason. I’ve been a pain in the ass to you, but I would like to tell you something, if I may?"
This was a big surprise! The goddess of love was being humble and contrite. Megan’s curiosity was overpowering. She had to hear her out!
"All right Aphrodite! What’s on your mind?" inquired Megan.
"As the goddess of love, I’ve seen them come and I’ve seen them go, but there is something about you two! Time after time you find each other. Time after time, your lives are intertwined! Your love is the rarest gift anyone can have. To love each other time after time, century after century, no matter what! That is eternal love. To my knowledge only you two have that gift. What I’m trying to say is cherish each other with all your hearts! And Remember Love conquers all! Keep a song in your heart and you can’t lose!" with that she disappeared
Megan and Caitlin were left to ponder the message.
"What do you suppose that was all about?" Asked Caitlin.
"I’m not sure but I think she just complimented us!" replied Megan.
"I think you’re right!" Said Caitlin. "What about Athena and Artemis? Any Idea what they were going on about?"
"I’m not sure. I wonder, could they mean those amulets we found in the cave?" pondered Megan.
"I wonder?" said Caitlin. "Could that be what The Dark Sorceress is looking for?"
"I have a hunch that is the place to start looking!" said Megan. "Let’s go!"
As they were headed back to their quarters, Caitlin asked Megan, "Xena, do you have any plans for tonight?"
"Well, I do have some things I should take care of. I really do need to make plans to deal with the Dark Sorceress! Why? Did you have something in mind?" Megan replied.
"Well, it might be worth your time to attend a little get together at the Amphitheater tonight at 7:00!" she said.
"Really, well I don’t know, I really have a lot to do!" Megan said reluctantly. When she saw Caitlin was on the verge of bursting into tears she said, "Oh Gabrielle, of course I’ll go! Nothing would give me more pleasure than to go to your party! You know that!"
"Oh Xena, you’re the greatest!" with that she was in Megan’s arms kissing her.
Now this is what makes life worth living! Megan thought. Her love is everything to me.
As the kiss ended Caitlin said, "Actually, it’s a concert. I’m going to sing a few songs, and maybe some of the other girls will too!"
"Sounds wonderful! I can’t wait!" Megan said enthusiastically. "You know I love your voice!"
They kissed again. "You know, we have quite a bit of time before the concert and I’m feeling, how shall I say, playful?" Megan said with an evil grin.
"I, umm, yeah, me too!" stammered Caitlin. Her green eyes were filled with lust. Her breathing became heavier as did Megan’s.
"C’mon baby! Let’s have some fun!" Megan said as she scooped up Caitlin in her arms, carried over the threshold and into their quarters. The door was programmed to close behind them.
Several times that afternoon, the peace and quiet was broken by several loud roars. People passing by Megan and Caitlin’s quarters swore they heard assorted moans and shouts. Up in the command center, Rising Dawn thought "They’re at it again and shook her head. Those two are like teenagers. I wish I had their stamina. Must be nice to be so in love!"
Rising Dawn began to muse on her own loneliness. She had been looking for Miss Right for sometime now. No luck so far, and she was between relationships right now. There were times when she felt very lonely. Ah, well she thought to herself. Just give it time and it will happen.

Later, Megan and Caitlin were lying in bed, resting after their intense lovemaking! Both were worn out from the frenzied passion they had shared.
"By the Goddesses Megan, that was incredible. I have never been fucked like that in my entire life!" Caitlin exclaimed as she lay beside her lover. "You get better all the time! I came so hard I thought I was gonna break the bed, as it is I may be walking funny for a while!" This made both of them burst out laughing.
"You’re gonna be walking funny? What about me? After the tongue lashing you gave it, not to mention those teeth, I don’t know if I will ever be ever to close my legs again!" she said with a giggle. "You wear me out, girl, but I wouldn’t have it any other way!" Megan took Caitlin’s hand and said, "I love you so much!"
Caitlin replied, "I know! I love you too."
"C’mere you!" said Megan. She pulled Caitlin close to her. "We got a few hours before we have to get ready for the concert. Let’s just cuddle for a while."
Caitlin yawned, "sounds good to me. I’m tired!" she nestled in beside her soulmate and promptly fell asleep! Megan loved to watch Caitlin while she slept. She was so beautiful, like an angel! As long as Caitlin was by her side, she could take on the universe itself. If anything ever happened to her, well whoever hurt her wouldn’t be around much longer! She would make sure of it! Soon Megan herself fell into a sweet slumber, dreaming of her sweet Gabrielle, her soulmate, her Caitlin!

A few hours later, Megan woke up and discovered that Megan wasn’t there. She called out to her, "Caitlin, honey? Are you here?" there was no answer. She got up and went into the bathroom. Caitlin wasn’t anywhere to be found. Megan felt the fear rise in her throat. She kept telling herself that there is no way anybody could have crept in unnoticed and kidnapped her. She picked up one of her bracelets from the spot on the floor where she had thrown it. She couldn’t help smiling to herself. When she wanted Caitlin, she didn’t waste time. All she could think about was making mad passionate love to her. She just hoped she was alright now. She pressed the communication gem on the bracelet and said "Megan to Rising Dawn!"
"Rising Dawn here! You finally awake?" she asked.
"Yeah, I’m here but no Caitlin! Have you seen her?"
"Yeah, she is rehearsing with the girls. A little pre-concert warm up!"
"What girls? What are you talking about?" asked Megan.
"Her band. The Galaxy Grrrls!" replied Rising Dawn.
"She has a band?" asked Megan.
"Where have you been? They have been practicing for a few weeks now! They’re actually pretty good!" said Rising Dawn.
"OOOkay, and why didn’t I know about this?" Megan mused.
"Well, you have been awful busy!" said Rising Dawn.
"Not that busy! You haven’t been keeping secrets from me now, have you?" asked Megan.
"Uhhh, who me?" stammered Rising Dawn.
"Yes you! Confess RD! Time to come clean."
"Oh, all right. She asked me to keep it a secret, so she could surprise you." confessed Rising Dawn.
"I thought so. So, are they good?" asked Megan.
"Good? They rock!" exclaimed Rising Dawn.
"Glad to hear it! It ought to be an enjoyable evening. So, I guess I’ll see you there?"
"Wild horses couldn’t keep me away!" said Rising Dawn.
"So what are you gonna wear?" Megan asked.
"Um, probably jeans and a tank top! It’s pretty warm out there tonight! And you?"
"I don’t know. I’ll probably just throw something on." Responded Megan.
"OK, I’ll see you there!" with that Rising Dawn closed the connection. She chuckled to herself. Megan was so totally clueless sometimes. She shook her head. I guess Megan has selective vision when it comes to Caitlin. She hadn’t noticed how quite a few of the more daring girls had been very subtly hitting on Caitlin. A good thing too, because if she ever found out, heads would roll. One thing Rising Dawn knew, you do not want to be the target of Megan’s rage.
Megan decided to take a quick shower before the concert. I’m already nude so might as well! She thought. She got up and went to the bathroom. There she turned on the shower and hopped in. The water felt good. It was just the right temperature as it came cascading down her back. It made her feel alive and got her blood flowing. Sometimes, it was nice to have it all to herself. As much as she loved Caitlin, sometimes they needed time to themselves. Megan was looking forward to the concert. Megan really liked that song Caitlin had sung for her that time. A Kettelian folk song about love found, lost and found again. It seemed to capture their story so perfectly!
She stepped out of the shower and dried herself off. "Mmmm, what to wear?" she thought. Then she spied Caitlin’s favorite T-shirt and a wicked grin crossed her face. "That T-shirt is a little baggy on Caitlin, but on me, it would be rather tight. In fact it wouldn’t leave much to the imagination! This would be perfect! I’ll do it!"
She put it on and with her busty figure, the T-shirt only came down about halfway on her and her nipples showed through the shirt quite nicely. She put on the tightest pair of jeans she had. Once they were on, Megan admired herself in the mirror.
"Not bad!" she thought. "But something’s missing." Then it hit her. What she really needed was makeup. But it had been a very long time since she had worn any. Summoning up her courage, she opened the drawer where her makeup was.
It was about half an hour later when Megan walked into the Amphitheater. All eyes were on her as she sauntered down to her reserved seat. To say she was a knockout would be an understatement. Most of the people didn’t recognize her at first. All they saw was this incredibly hot looking blonde with long legs, ruby lips, and blue eyes with eye shadow to match. Every libido in the place was set racing. The sexual tension was so thick you could cut it with a knife. When she sat in the front row seat that was reserved especially for her, no one could believe their eyes. They had never seen Megan looking quite that good. Rising Dawn sat down next to her. She was dressed in jeans and a tight T-shirt.
"Wow, Megan? Is that really you? By the goddesses, you look incredible!" Said Rising Dawn. She didn’t want to admit it, but looking at Megan brought back a few old feelings.
Megan blushed. She wasn’t used to playing the sex kitten, but she was feeling very adventurous tonight!
"Thanks, Dawny. I appreciate that! I hope Caitlin likes it!"
"Honey, if she doesn’t, she must be dead. Any woman with a pulse would like you like this!" said Rising Dawn.
Then a hush came over the crowd. Megan couldn’t wait.
Then came the introduction of the band. A woman’s voice boomed out "Ladies and gentlemen. The Queen Diana Amphitheater and the Galaxy Defense Force proudly present: Appearing for the first time anywhere, The Girl who always wears fur, the tail everybody wants to chase, the green-eyed cutie who’s quite a beauty, Caitlin and her Galaxy Grrrls!
Amid thunderous applause and a menacing glare from Megan, the curtain opened and Caitlin pranced out onto the stage. Megan almost keeled over from the shock. She had been expecting Caitlin to wear a nice dress, but instead she was wearing a Tank top that was barely there! She could see the bottom of her tit’s as she pranced about the stage. She also had on a pair of shorts cut so you could tell she wasn’t wearing any underwear. Megan nearly died of embarrassment.
She was pleased to notice that Caitlin was wearing her half of the amulet. It was a strange piece. When they found it in that cave, it was two hearts locked together, but when they picked it up, it separated in two pieces, a large heart and a small heart. Megan decided to take the large heart while Caitlin decided to take the small heart! They liked to say that their respective pieces represented their partner’s heart! So Megan had Caitlin’s heart and Caitlin had Megan’s!
Then Caitlin spoke to the crowd! "Hey how y’all doing tonight! I’m Caitlin and these are the Galaxy Grrrls! We’re here to rock your world! Whooo!" With that the band began to rock. They kicked off the evening with that 41st century classic "Rockin’ the Galaxy Tonight". Caitlin’s vocals were incredible; in fact they were almost mesmerizing. She had a magic about her that Megan had never seen before! When Caitlin sang, she could almost see the images. She sure could feel the emotion.
After singing a few more songs, Caitlin said "Thank you! Thank you! Now it’s time to introduce the Galaxy Grrrls! On Drums, we have Ronetta!" The purple skinned woman with the large head of long white hair bowed.
"On Laser Bass Guitar, we have the leader of the Range Riders herself, our resident wild child, Lynzi Wildheart!" Amid thunderous applause, the tall human woman with a head full of red hair pumped her fist in the air!
Megan laughed! Lynzi Wildheart was always the rebel! She could be exasperating, rebellious, and even insubordinate at times! She was always getting into trouble! Yet it was that wild spirit that made her one of the most valued officers in the GDF!
"Next," Caitlin said "On Laser Guitar, the Doc that rocks, K’tal’e!" The doctor bowed.
Megan’s jaw dropped. She had no idea K’tal’e had this kind of talent! Come to think of it, she really didn’t know much about K’tal’e at all! She was one of the best doctors in the Galaxy, but other than that, Megan knew nothing about her! She was going to have to pay more attention to such things. She was missing out on a lot of things.
Caitlin was introducing the last member of the band. "On Celtic harp, saxophone and backup vocals, that redhead who’ll take you to heaven and keep your motor running all at once, Moira Kelly!" The chief engineer stood up a bowed while the audience went wild.
Megan noticed that all of the women were wearing tank tops and shorts. This didn’t really surprise Megan. Of Course Lynzi’s was shorter and more revealing than the rest of them.
Caitlin and the girls started in on the second set of songs. "Before we start, I want to make puuurfectly clear, this is just a song. It’s not about anybody I know. It’s just a song ok? I wrote this with Moira and Lynzi. It’s a little number called ‘Ice Princess’ and it goes something like this!" The Galaxy Grrrls started playing and Caitlin started singing.
"You told me you love me, but it was all lies, don’t try to deceive me, I see it in you’re eyes! You’re an IIIce Princess, IIIIce Princess, you’re as cold as space!"
The rest of the songs were pretty much the same. Megan didn’t really care for them. It wasn’t her type of music. She just watched Caitlin and tuned out the music. She could see how much fun Caitlin was having. It was still a little disconcerting to see her like this. So wild and uninhibited, it was so unlike the sweet and demure woman she knew so well! Of course she knew Caitlin had a wild side. She showed it in the bedroom often enough, but this was different. This was out in public. Suddenly Megan realized how quiet it was. Caitlin was going to say something.
"This will be the final song tonight! It’s a special song I wrote, for that special someone in my life. Megan, we have been soulmates for more years than I can count. You are the only one who can make me roar! Your love means more to me than life itself. Aphrodite told us to keep a song in our hearts, so here’s mine! It’s called ‘My Only Love’ and that’s you Megan. I love you so much." With that she began to sing.

By the time Caitlin finished there wasn’t a dry eye in the house. Everyone was overcome by emotion. Megan thought that was the most romantic thing she has ever heard. It was plain to see that everyone else felt the same. Megan loved Caitlin now more than ever. She stood up and started to go down to the stage to embrace her true love when evil sounding laughter came from out of nowhere.
"How sweet! How very touching!" the voice said. Suddenly the dark Sorceress appeared on stage and grabbed Caitlin! "Nobody move or she dies!" she hissed. Her hand was glowing. Everybody froze. They didn’t want to take the chance of Caitlin getting hurt. "It’s been a long time Xena!"
As soon as Megan heard that, she knew her worst fear had come to pass. The day she dreaded most had arrived. She faced one of her oldest foes! One name escaped her lips, "Alti!"
"You recognize me! I’m flattered. I have changed so much since our last encounter, but haven’t we all!" She said with an evil grin.
"Let her go, Alti!" Demanded Megan.
"Now, now Xena! Behave yourself!" replied the Dark Sorceress.
"Alright Alti. What do you want?" Megan asked.
"I want the other half of this!" she said pointing to Caitlin’s heart amulet.
"Alright. I know where it is! Let her go and I’ll go get it for you!" said Megan.
"No, Xena! You will bring it to me while I wait with Gabrielle! You must come to me! You know where to find me, isn’t that right Princess Yuki!"
"Monster, release my family!" shouted the Princess.
The Dark Sorceress just laughed and disappeared. "No! Caitlin!" screamed Megan. "Alright Alti, you want me, you’ve got me. Only this time I have a whole lot more than just me! Rising Dawn! I want every available ship ready to set course for Yumemakura! We are going to rescue Caitlin or die trying!"
All rising Dawn could say was, "Yes Commander!" She had never seen Megan like this, such fury in her eyes and in her voice. It was easy to see she would give anything for Caitlin, but then most people would. She was that special to everybody!
"I’m coming for you my love! Hang in there and be safe. Oh by the goddesses if she harms you...!" Megan couldn’t complete the thought. It was too horrible to contemplate. She would not rest until Caitlin was back safe in her arms.
