Darkness From Space

Chapter 3

 Revelations and Explanations

Commander Megan sat in her office, examining the Medical Report on their visitor, Princess Yuki from the planet Yumemakura. The reports said she was human and she was in good health. Nothing told Megan if she was telling the truth or not. She had claimed to be escaping from someone called the Dark Sorceress. It was the report submitted by Rising Dawn that was a little more telling. There was a Princess Yuki on the planet Yumemakura. The holo record matched her appearance, but appearances can be deceiving. The report mentioned rumors of someone called the Dark Sorceress operating at the fringe of the galaxy. Megan recalled hearing some of those rumors about a woman with mystic powers and a mind for conquest. Rumor had it she was looking for something, but no one knew quite what!

It had been three days since the Princess had crashed on Themyscria. Megan had given Yuki time to get herself together after the rough trip. Megan also wanted time to check her out. So far she checked out, but Megan wasn’t convinced. She had scheduled a full briefing in15 minutes. Then she would hear the full story. The briefing would be recorded and sent to the various GDF bases around the galaxy, if Megan thought it was warranted.

"Well, time to go!" Megan thought to herself.

Just as she was about to leave, the door buzzer sounded. This was not the time for visitors.

"Who is it?" she asked. There was no answer. So she opened the door. ***Boom*** from out of nowhere a golden blur knocked her off her feet and onto her back!

"Surprise Xena!" exclaimed Caitlin wearing an impish grin.

"Gabrielle, one of these days...Mmmmm!" Megan was cut off when Caitlin kissed her passionately. "By the goddesses Gabrielle, you are so beautiful and so sexy!"

"I know!" Caitlin replied with a lewd grin. "So you wanna have a little fun?"

"We can’t! We’ve got to get to that meeting!" Megan said reluctantly.

"True, but we could be late!" Caitlin said, her voice dripping with sex. Her tail was swishing back and forth wildly; her eyes were filled with lust. Megan was getting incredibly turned on. She had as much self-discipline as the next person, more in fact, but when Caitlin got this way she couldn’t resist her. They both wanted it and there could be no denying each other. They began to remove each other’s clothes.

At that moment, a voice rang out from the doorway, "By the Goddesses, do I have to get a hose for you two? Honestly, you two! We have a meeting to go to!" Rising Dawn said.

Megan and Caitlin both blushed. "Ah, Rising Dawn! Meeting, right, gotta get to the meeting!" stammered Megan.

"Right, meeting, forgot about the meeting. Very important! Must attend!" Caitlin stammered as she stood up and straightened out her clothes and looked around for a hole to jump in before she died of embarrassment.

"Alright lovebirds, let’s go!" ordered Rising Dawn. She hustled them out of Megan’s office and kept close watch on the both of them. She almost envied them if truth be told! To be in love that much, to feel and act like a teenager, that would be wonderful.

When they arrived Megan sat at the head of the conference table. Caitlin sat to her right and Rising Dawn to her left. At the other end was Princess Yuki. She was wearing a blue and gold GDF uniform. Megan had seen to it that she was provided something other than her armor to wear. Also present were The GDF’s top staff and the commanders of the various GDF bases around the galaxy were listening and watching over the holo-link.

"Well princess, would you like to tell us your story?" inquired Megan.

"Thank you Commander Megan!" said the Princess. "My story begins about two weeks ago! We had heard rumors of someone calling herself The Dark Sorceress was invading nearby systems. My father King Ryu thought they were just stories. We found out differently when she came to our planet. Our forces fought valiantly but they were no match for her creatures. They were unlike anything we'd ever seen before. We used our photon cannons, hand blasters, laser sabers, we even resorted to metal swords, none of which had any effect. Our soldiers were cut down as they tried to defend themselves. Fireballs rained down upon us. Inside a week my family was imprisoned, my people were enslaved, and my life as I know it was destroyed. I managed to escape to search for help although I had no idea where to go. I was attacked as I neared you planet. I still don’t know how I survived the crash. I just consider myself fortunate to have encountered you! I owe you my life Commander Megan."

"Glad to help Princess. Is there anything more you could tell us about this Dark Sorceress?"

"Yes, now that I think about it, she seemed to be looking for something. She mentioned something about a talisman but I don’t know anything about it," she said.

"Well that’s something at least," Megan sighed.

"I also have this!" with that Yuki pulled out a holo-cube. "It’s a holo-still of her!" she said as she activated it. The image that sprang forth was familiar to at least one other person beside Princess Yuki. Caitlin eyes had grown wide and she had started to tremble. She had gone deathly pale; Megan could see that, despite Caitlin’s golden fur.

"Gabrielle, what is it? Do you know her?" Megan said. She was becoming more alarmed by the second.

"Xena, I saw here in my dream last night. It was one of my special dreams. She was coming to get me. Help me Xena! Don't let her get me." Caitlin buried her face in Megan’s chest. She was trembling fiercely. Megan had never seen her like this. Caitlin was sobbing uncontrollably, even her tail rarely still for even a second, was limp. Her golden fur was standing on end and her cat-like ears were flat against her skull. She was obviously terrified of this woman.

"Shhh, it will be all right. I promise I will protect you! She won’t hurt you, I won’t let her!" Megan whispered to her soulmate. Even as she said the words, she wasn’t sure she could. She knew of Gabrielle’s prophetic dreams. If this was indeed one of those dreams, it meant trouble.

"Ok everybody meeting adjourned. That means everybody, out! That means you too, Princess," Said Rising Dawn. She knew right now, Caitlin needed to be alone with Megan. In the short time she had known Caitlin, she had never seen her in a state like this. Usually she was so confident and full of life. For something to terrify her so, it must have been one heck of a dream.

As everybody left Megan comforted Caitlin by holding her close and stroking her hair. Slowly Caitlin’s sobbing subsided. After about ten minutes she was back in control of herself, the fear all but gone! She sat up, and her tail slowly started swishing back and forth.

"Are you okay?" Megan asked Caitlin.

"Yeah, I think so! Except now I’m really embarrassed!" Caitlin said dejectedly.

‘Hey, It’s ok! I’m here for you! You know that! As for being embarrassed, well we’re all family here except for the princess, and personally I don’t care what she thinks! I don’t think anybody who matters would think badly of you! I bet they’re all worried about you." Said Megan.

"Thanks Megan. I don’t know what I would do without you!" Caitlin said. "I love you Xena!"

Megan took her in her arms and held her tight.

"Oh, Megan." She said and they kissed.

"Mmmm, now that’s my Gabrielle!" Megan said. "I love you too!"

Caitlin just smiled.

That smile was an enormous relief to Megan. That smile told her Caitlin was all right.

"I think it’s time we consulted the Goddesses about this!" said Megan.

This took Caitlin by surprise; Megan wasn’t one to consult the Goddesses about anything. In fact, she seemed to keep her distance from the goddesses! "Are you sure Megan?" Caitlin asked.

"Yes, Gabrielle I am! Something tells me we are going to need all the help we can get on this. And I do mean we as in you and I!" Megan said emphatically.

Caitlin was so pleased; she kissed Megan with all her might. "Oh Xena!"

"C’mon, Gabrielle! Let’s go to the temple!" said Megan.

When they arrived at the temple, the head priestess Syreene greeted them.

"Welcome Warrior Princess! Welcome Gabrielle! We have been expecting you!" she said.

"You have?" said Megan. She wasn’t sure what to make of Syreene! She knew of her but had never met her face to face. She was a tall woman with short black hair. She was dressed in the white robes of the priestess.

Syreene just nodded and motioned the duo to follow her. She led them to the Main temple doors.

"Here you may commune with the Goddesses! Please enter," she said. Two attendants opened the doors. Megan and Caitlin held each other’s hands tightly and entered the Temple. The doors closed behind them.
