Letter To A Stranger

Warning: Although this story agrees with subtextual notions, I would say that it is a general story.  BUT, if you are against the idea of subtext, please do not read any further.

It's kind of weird writing to someone you don't know, and even more if you
know he or she is from the future, but I'll begin by introducing myself.  My
name is Aixa, and I'm 6 winters old.  You may find it strange that a little
girl is writing, it's strange in my era too, but that's the way I am.  People
say I'm abnormal.  But my mommy says that's not true and people are envious of
me for being special, and I of course believe my mommy.

Actually, I have two mommies.  I've heard that it's strange but I think it's
normal.  Once I heard a person  say that I was an experiment of the gods.  I
don't like people to say those things about me.  I have black hair like my mom
Xena, and white skin and green eyes like my mummy Gabrielle.  They have been
together  for a long time and love each other very much.  They love me too! 
Mummy Gabrielle tells me stories at night and always tells me that I'm the
best gift the gods could have given her. She is a bard. In case you don't know
what that means, a bard is a person that tells stories to people and they can
pay her or not. (I never pay her!) Almost all of my mommy's stories are about
the adventures of mom Xena.  Mom Xena is a Warrior.  Some people call her
"Warrior Princess" It's kind of weird to explain her profession.  Mommy
Gabrielle says that she takes care of the good people and beats up the bad,
although she sometimes kills them! But my uncle Antylocus says that her
profession is simply kicking asses ( I can't say that aloud because my mommy
doesn't like it).

We don't live in one place.  We're always going from one place to another.  I
like it better this way.  I don't like to go to the villages, the people there
are weird and sometimes when we arrive they say ugly things to my mommies,
things like: they're perverted and shouldn't be together.  Once a man made
mommy Gabrielle cry when he yelled if she liked being the toy of a lord of
war.  I thought that was dumb.  How could my mommy turn into a toy? And no
Lord or war that I know has toys.  They use daggers, swords and stuff like
that, but not toys! Anyway my mommy isn't friends with any  Lord war so I
don't know why she cried.  I don't like it when she cries.  So I walked up to
the man and kicked him in his shin and ran away.  My mom Xena laughed a lot
but Mummy Gabrielle yelled at me.  She doesn't like me to hit people.  Mom
Xena tried to explain to me one day why people say that we're abnormal.  But
she's not good with words and I didn't understand anything.  I don't want her
to cry and neither does mommy  Xena, She doesn't like it when she cries. Mom
Xena tries to make us feel better when we arrive to a village by putting her
arms around us in a protective way.  However it's always the same thing.  Once
a woman hit me with a potato, which hurt a lot, and made a cut on my
eyebrow.  I have rarely seen my mommy Gabrielle that angry and if it hadn't
been for my mom Xena calming her down, she would've killed that woman.
That's why I don't like to go to the villages.  Although not everyone is like
that.  For  example, I have a grandmother, (my mom Xena's mom) who always
gives me things  and spoils me.   She's very nice.  I also have another
grandma named Hecuba.  She's nice too but not that much fun.  The one I like
to be with the most  is my aunt Lila. She must be the best aunt in the world! 
The bad thing is we hardly go there  because of my grandpa.  He doesn't like
me or mom Xena that much. He once said that I was an abortion from nature.  I
don't know what abortion means, but it must be something bad because Mom Xena
got really angry and got me out of there and yelled at my grandpa and other
mummy. They hardly ever fight.  I didn't like it that they fought because of
me. While I was telling that to Mom Xena, mummy Gabrielle came out very angry
too and we left.  Ever since then we only go when grandpa is traveling.

I also like to go with the amazons.  They like me very much and I have many
friends to play with.  I have a friend named Xenon.  He's a boy with horse
legs. He's my auntie Ephiny´s son.  My mommy is  the Amazon Queen.  That's why
every time we come there's a party.  I also have great friends like Solari. She
plays war with me.  Speaking of wars, I know Ares the god of war.  He says
that he is my grandfather, but who knows. I like him because he is very
handsome and always tells me that I'm going to be the leader of his army.  My
mommies don't like it when I talk to him, I don't know why, but they don't.

I also have another friend who is a goddess.  However, my mommies don't know
that I know her.  It's our secret.  Her name is Callisto.  But I call her
Cali.  I like her because she can throw fire and she's teaching me how to
fight.  (my mommies don't want me to fight) Cali doesn't like my mommy Xena. 
She says that she took away from her everything that she had.  But, she likes
my mommy Gabrielle a lot.  She has a kind of obsession for her.  One she said
she was going to have my mommy for her and that mommy Xena was not going to
like it.  I didn't like it when she said that.  I don't like the way she looks
at mommy Gabrielle.  I don't like it when anybody looks at her that way, so I
left angrily.  She convinced me to return saying that if it hadn't been for
her, my mommies wouldn't be together.  She said she took Perdicas out of the
way.  I don't know what Perdicas is, but by the name I think it might have
been something like a cat or a dog.  Mommy Xena doesn't like animals except
for Argo.  Maybe that's why Cali took Perdicas somewhere else, who knows?
Anyway, I really got angry that time.  I wouldn't hang around with her but
it's really cool when she throws fire.

I also have an uncle named Joxer.  He is a great warrior.  He even has a song
that a girl who fell in love with him, wrote for him   I have never seen him
fight well, but he says that he's saving it for special occasions.  I would
like to see him.

As you can see, I don't know many things but I try to learn them so I can
understand what is happening. The idea of writing this occurred to me when I
heard my mommy Gabrielle say that my mom Xena would live forever in her
stories.  She said that as long as someone remembers her, she wouldn't die.  Then I
thought that I wouldn't like either of my mommies to die and I wrote these things
so that someone from the future could read them.  My mommy Gabrielle says that a
scroll can last 1000 winters! That is a long time.

I suppose that you don't understand much of what I'm saying.  After all, I'm
only a little girl and your era must be very different  from mine.  My mommy
Gabrielle says that in the future everything will be alright.  That's why I
think you don't understand me.  Perhaps in your era there are no Lords of war
that fight to have a piece of land.  Perhaps the people in your villages
understand that two people like my mommies love each other.  Maybe there are
thousands of people like my mommies that love each other in your world.  Maybe
you're a boy or a girl with two mommies like me.  I hope that in your era
nobody calls you abnormal when you pass by.  Wow!, I'm  imagining so many
things that I would like to live with you.  Perhaps we could be friends, don't
you think? But, well, I got to live here now and it's not so bad when you get
used to it, only if they don't throw another potato at me.  I couldn't get used
to that, it hurts a lot.

Well I gotta go because my mommy said  that it's time to go to bed.
