Setting/Spoilers:
Assumes you have seen the Season 5 episode “Them Bones, Them Bones”
How
this story came to be:
At the Xena convention in Pasadena I was talking with Claire Stansfield the
morning after her “Triple XXX Review” with Alexandra Tydings and she made
the comment that she wished somebody would write some Xena/Alti fan fiction.
This story is a result of my taking on her challenge.

Xena was
on her back with her arms stretched above her head and her eyes closed.
She was soaking up every moment as her lover kissed her and stroked her
body with gentle hands. The kisses
were just the way Xena liked them…somewhat aggressive but not so much so as to
set off her competitive side. Xena
willingly opened her mouth to let her lover explore. Small sounds escaped Xena as the hands moved to fondle
the warrior’s breasts. It
wasn’t long before Xena’s nipples were hard and erect.
As her lover moved from her mouth to one of her nipples, Xena’s need to
be fully satisfied started to rage. Imagining
her bard at her breast Xena brought her arms down to stroke the short blond hair
and encourage her lover to move further down.
As Xena’s hands encountered long hair the woman at her breast paused to
say, “I’ve always wanted to be in you
Xena.”
***
Gabrielle
stood back to back with Xena peering into the darkness of the forest that
surrounded their campsite. Ever
since that year when Gabrielle had been the major force protecting Xena while
she was carrying Eve, it wasn’t just Xena that reacted to things that went
bump in the night. So, as soon as the bard heard Xena draw her sword and jump to
her feet, Gabrielle was right there with her.
But
this evening something was wrong. As
far as Gabrielle could tell there was nothing out there that they needed to
fear. She could hear no twigs
snapping under the feet of attackers and the small creatures of the forest could
be heard going about their business as always. The only thing that was out of place was how hard Xena’s
heart was beating. As they stood
back to back Gabrielle could feel it pounding.
Now,
normally the warrior’s heart didn’t skip a beat when she was facing danger.
Gabrielle smiled a bit to herself as thought about they ways she used to
get the Xena’s heart rate up, but as they were standing above their bedroll
and not making love in it that wasn’t the cause of the pounding she was
feeling.
“Xena,
what do you think is out there?” asked Gabrielle quietly.
“Xena?”
“Gabrielle,
I don’t know.”
“What
woke you?”
“I
guess it was a dream,” said Xena as she slowly lowered her sword and turned to
face Gabrielle. “It was so real I
was sure she was here.” There was
a sheen of sweat on the warrior’s face.
“Which
she?” asked Gabrielle.
“Alti,”
said Xena.
“Come
here Xena,” said Gabrielle as she pulled the warrior down on their bedroll and
put her arms around her lover. “Tell me about it.”
Xena
uncharacteristically shivered before she said, “It was that she used the same
words that she used when she stole Eve’s soul, but in a different setting.”
“You
never told me what she said,” said Gabrielle.
Xena
was quiet for a moment or two before saying, “It doesn’t matter, it was all
a dream. Let’s go back to
sleep.”
“Xena?”
“Maybe
later, for now let’s sleep,” said Xena rather testily.
“Ok,”
was all that the bard said as she pulled the blanket over them and pulled Xena
closer to her. Soon they were fast
asleep.
Sleep
was fitful for the warrior. Over
and over again she could her Alti’s voice saying, “I’ve always wanted to
be inside you Xena.” Hearing it
wouldn’t have been so bad if the pictures that went with the voice were just a
replay of Alti stealing Eve’s soul, but they weren’t.
They were of a, impossible as it seems, a desirable Alti.
An Alti who was flirting and making love with Xena.
Xena
woke soaking wet. Gently she
disentangled herself from Gabrielle who was sprawled on top of her and made her
way down to the river near their campsite, stripped and waded into the cold
water. As it was almost the winter
season the water was a shock. A
shock Xena hoped would get whatever this Alti fixation was out of her system.
Naked she walked out of the water and shook the water off herself.
As she reached down to pick up her leathers she felt hands on her back.
Thinking it was Gabrielle she turned.
But it wasn’t Gabrielle. It
was Alti, but a younger, sexier Alti.
“Well
Xena, I always have wanted to be inside you.
Why haven’t you ever wanted me?”
Xena
shoved Alti away with a growl and started to get dressed.
The gods only know why Xena muttered to Alti, “What makes you think I
didn’t at one time? Don’t you know that when you were luring me in with
promises of making me the Destroyer of Nations it wasn’t just the promise of
power that drew me in. Some of
those times looking into the fire I wanted you to make the first move so badly,
but you never did.”
Before
Xena’s eyes Alti morphed into the countenance that Xena was used to seeing.
“So,”
drawled the witch, “this was the Alti you were hot for?”
“Yeah,
but the operative word in that sentence is ‘was’.
You mean nothing to me now, other than an evil bitch to destroy.”
Xena snarled as she spit out the words at Alti.
“I
guess it’s that little bitch of yours that you want now,” drawled Alti.
“I’m not sure I like that. You
know I don’t like her and what she’s done to you.”
Xena
was about to run back to the camp when Alti said, “Too late.
She won’t wake up until I’m ready to have her wake up.”
“Alti…”
“Xena
you can ‘Alti’ me all you want but it won’t wake up that irritating blonde
of yours.”
“What
will?” asked Xena through gritted teeth.
“You.
Specifically you and me,” said Alti.
“You
and me doing what?” asked Xena.
“My,
my, princess you aren’t very imaginative are you?” asked Alti as she walked
around Xena. “I have developed
new powers since we last met and I could force you to do me, but I want you to
decide to do it.”
Xena
lunged at the witch and knocked her to the ground and was about to hit her when
Alti drawled, “so you like rough sex…that works for me.”
Xena
rolled off of Alti and glared at the long figure still lying on the shore.
“What
will it be Xena? Will you uphold
your morals and let your little bitch die? Remember how I almost killed her when you were stupid enough
to let her come after me? I can do
it here too. All I have to do is
count…ten…nine…eight…seven…six.…”
As
Alti counted Xena could hear Gabrielle back at their camp struggling for breath.
“All
right, you win!” said Xena cursing at Alti as she spit the words out.
“I
knew you’d see it my way,” said Alti beckoning Xena to join her.
Xena
listened for a few minutes until she was sure she could hear Gabrielle regular
breathing. Then she did as she was
asked and lay down beside Alti.
“Oh,
Xena, don’t try any little tricks or she won’t ever wake up.”
Xena
did not respond in words. As
disgusted as she was with the prospect of making love with Alti, she just had to
protect Gabrielle. So the Warrior
Princess surrendered and started to kiss the witch.
To
Xena’s shock and horror she found herself enjoying the kisses and everything
that they escalated into. Spent she
found herself looking up at the stars wondering what on earth had gone wrong
with the universe and inside crying over her betrayal of Gabrielle.
Just then Alti lowered herself on top of Xena.
“What?
Haven’t I earned Gabrielle’s freedom?” asked Xena.
“Yes,
you were very skilled, but now it’s my turn to make you scream,” drawled
Atli into Xena’s ear.
It
was a warrior scream that broke the night air all right but not the one Alti had
in mind. Xena tossed Alti off of
her and said, “Alti, I’m going to kill you before you can count to one!”
Xena
jumped to her feet looking as fierce as ever anyone had ever seen her before.
“Xena,
Alti? She’s not here and what
were you doing throwing me halfway across the campsite?”
“Gabrielle?”
“Well,
it’s not Hercules.”
Xena
reached down and helped Gabrielle to her feet and drew her into a close embrace.
As she held the bard, tears started to roll down Gabrielle’s cheeks.
“Gabrielle,
what’s wrong?” asked Xena as she gently wiped at the tears.
“Xena,
we need to talk. You smell like
love making…”
(Now, how do you suppose Xena explained herself? Imagination time!)
