'Wishes
read a book about Fifty-Five Word Fiction in "The World's Shortest
Stories", edited by Steve Moss (Running Press, Philadelphia, 1998).
She asked XWP fans if they would like to try their hand at writing
55-word stories that include their favorite characters and plot. Their
answer can be found in The
World's Shortest XWP Fan Fiction. "Here,
in part 2 you will find the folks who have decided to pick up the torch independently
and give you their own inspirations. This Chapter of "The
World's Shortest XWP Fan Fiction is open to all bards willing to take up
the quill and parchment and leave their words for all to gaze
upon." - ForevaXena |
Here is my own contribution to this project. Those who know me will have recognized the two other protagonists (who will forgive me one day, I hope) of this completely fictive story.
A Kiss
by Cat, July
28th, 2000
Cat : "I love this show!
Tragedy, comedy... it has everything!"
Fausta : "Everything but subtext, Cat!"
John : "Mom, Xena is kissing
Gabby!"
Cat : "John, stop
shouting!"
John : "But, mom..."
Fausta : "A kiss, did he say they kissed?"
Cat : "Yeah, just like you
he loves imagining things!"
Fausta : "Duh?!?"
Cat : "Well, who believes goldfishes
really do kiss?"

Here is another of my contributions to this project.

The
Avengers
by Cat, May 11th, 2001
"Really I don't understand, Cyrene. I woke up this morning to find a bunch of fishes near my blanket with a note saying 'Gabrielle, we're needed'. Then when I ask her where, she answers we have to see 'Mother' and leaves! And now that we're here, she is looking for someone or something called Champagne?"

Argument
by Claire Withercross
Xena
looked over at Gabrielle.
"Will you stop that!" she commanded.
"Stop what?" replied Gabrielle innocently.
"That!"
"What?"
"Making that noise."
"What noise?"
"That noise!"
"What? This noise?"
"No. The other one."
"This one?"
"Yes!" cried the warrior.
~
The
sun touched the horizon ahead of the travellers.
"Beautiful,
isnt it?"
"No,"
replied Xena without interest.
"That's
so like you," Gabrielle sighed, "Im not surprised you can't
appreciate the beauty of nature."

Disclaimer: Xena and
Gabrielle belong to their creators at Ren Pic. I'm only borrowing them to use in
my imagination. I promise to return them only a bit worse for wear (tired but
happy).

"Don't
DO That To Me!"
by Caley Woulfe
Xena and Gabrielle set up camp. Xena went hunting and when she returned, Gabrielle was preparing some veggies she had gathered.
As Xena plucked the wild fowl, she heard sniffling.
"Gabrielle?" The Bard lifted a face streaming with tears. Xena was at her side in an instant.
"Sweetheart? What's the matter!" "Nothing, I'm chopping onions."
~
"No!" shouted the warrior, pounding her bleeding knuckles into the wall. She turned around to meet the soft green eyes of her equally condemned lover. Gabrielle could read it in Xena’s face: there was no way out for them this time.
"What now?" The water was touching her feet now.
Xena smiled. "Want to dance?"~
Stomp, stomp, clap.
Stomp, stomp, clap.
"What are you doing?"
"What?"
"What are you clapping for?"
"What are you stompin' for?'
Clap, stomp, stomp.
Clap, stomp, stomp.
"No, the other way's better. Start stompin' again."
Stomp, stomp, clap.
Stomp, stomp, clap.
"Hmm, yeah that's good."
Stomp, stomp, clap.
"Everybody, we will, we will rock you..."
~
"What do you think he meant by that?"
"How should I know?"
"You're supposed to have many skills. Figure it out."
"I don't think he was hiding any subliminal messages, Gabrielle."
"Xena, he said my ass was too big."
"Well, you've got to admit, it is pretty big." Xena grinned, patting the donkey in tow.

Between A Rock
And Ares
by Gabby Bard
"I hate this."
"Why sugar-coat things? Tell me how you really feel."
"Shut up. This is all your fault, anyway."
"Come on, Gabrielle. So, what if you're stuck in a cave with me? You could have worse company."
"Ares, I've always wondered, does it hurt your back to kiss your own ass like that?"
