Lucy will be doing radio interviews via satellite on Friday, June 22.  They will all be live. The first one starts at 8:45 am. I don't know how long each one is. They could vary from 5 minutes to 30 each. She just sits in a studio and as one interview ends, she starts up another with the next station. This is the order in which she is doing them.

Below is a listing of the station call letters, the market city and the hosts. But if you can pick up any of these stations in a city not listed and can get a show hosted by these people, you'll be able to hear the interview.  Note:  They start at 8:45 am EASTERN TIME.

I wanted to send along my thanks to everyone who attended the recent convention. I had a ball hosting it. Ya'll can see how shy I am when the spotlight hits <G> It was great to meet so many of you personally.

The actors and production people gave us stories and insights into the making of the show and themselves. And no one could doubt how the audience felt as they clapped and cheered, laughed and cried at this opportunity to let Lucy and Renee and everyone else connected with the show know just how much their hard work for the past six years has meant to us all.

Lucy and Renee -- I don't have the words to thank those two women for their generosity. In an appearance that lasted almost two hours, they answered 85 questions with thoughtfulness, humor and, thanks to an unplanned follow-up question to Lucy, song! What a treat to hear Lucy doing Stevie Nicks <G> Credit for the staging of the opening of their session goes to Lucy. I still want to know how she talked Renee into starting the song by herself <G> But what a terrific way to begin their set. That double-barreled opening had to have registered on the Richter scale! And what fun the two of them had with each other.

As for the audience, putting together the totals from Creation's onstage charity auctions and our charity breakfast, the fan run charity events at the Pups Dinner, Bard's Brunch, Sword & Staff dinner, Dawn's t-shirt and trivia raffle, over a quarter of a million dollars was raised in this single weekend!

We handed Lucy checks from our auctions for Starship Foundation totaling $100,000 and told her about all the other events going on. She was astounded. I was glad Lucy and Renee had a chance on stage to thank Xena fans around the world for their extraordinary generosity to those in need.

For those who have been asking, we taped Lucy and Renee's stage appearance for possible home video release. We'll post when we have more information about this.

To those who have been asking, as a last minute addition, we were able to include a promo card from the new Xena Trading Cards being issued by Rittenhouse Archives in with newsletter #14. I had a note from someone who thought it fell in by mistake and was offering to return it. Nope, it's to keep :)

Someone just asked if I had anything to do with the backs of the trading cards. I told them I did write the copy. Mind you, they didn't say whether or not they liked it, just that the style seemed familiar <G> It was edited -- I think I got a bit too chatty for the size of a trading card <blush> I wonder if I should post the unexpurgated version? <EG>

HERCULES AND XENA PHOTO CLUBS -- March and April have been approved for both clubs and are in production.

XENA PHOTOS -- some shots from the dance sequence of "Heart Of Darkness" have been approved. We should have them in time for the convention.

XENA NEWSLETTER #14 -- it has started shipping. International was shipped first and then domestic. Intl goes air mail, domestic goes bulk mail. So it can take a few weeks for everyone to get it in the U.S.

XENA NEWSLETTER #15 -- Lucy and Renee have approved the photos and it's off to the studio for approval this week. It contains an 8-page interview with Renee on directing "Dangerous Prey."

There will be a piece on the final episode of Xena on the E! cable channel show called "E! News Daily." It will start running (today), April 6.  They do rerun this show that day and the next. They may also do a piece on their E! News Weekend show this weekend. Check your local TV Guide for the airing times in your city.

NOTE FROM "FX":  If I were to say that I didn't have a lump in my throat and tears in my eyes after reading this, I'd be a lying little bugger.  The only joy I got from this was the wonderful news that Ren's pregnancy has been confirmed <G>  This was a beautiful send off, thank you Sharon!  

"Xena's Final Wrap"

There was champagne, speeches, gifts to and from the cast and crew. Lucy, now clad in t-shirt, jeans and a lumberjack coat, read a poem written on the back of her script. She said this was poem #1. It was warm and heartfelt and her voice was choked with emotion. After the applause, someone called out for poem #2. Lucy launched into, "There was an old man from Leeds." The crew finished the limerick along with her and laughter replaced the tears. 

During her television interviews, Renee announced that, yes, she and her husband, Steve, are expecting their first child. There were hugs all around and two-foot-long paper bags filled with memories to take home. Six years of memories -- for them and for us. We wish them well.

This month we will start using our new digital system of reproduction for the Xena photo club.  If you've seen any of our new photos at conventions, you will have noticed the difference.  It feels like you can dip your hands in the color it is so rich and clear.  The new system will start with the March batch for Hercules as Feb was already in production when we made the switch.

I'm also working on getting photos from the Xena/Gabrielle dance sequence in Heart Of Darkness.

Thought you might enjoy a sneak preview of two of the new shirts we'll have for the May convention.  They're still in the manufacturing stage.  As soon as they are ready for ordering, we'll send out a message and I'll also note it here.  (NOTE:  For all those with eagle eyes, we caught the typo on the Gabrielle shirt.  It will read "Bard of Poteidaia" not "Baird" <G>)  The art from these shirts will also be available as posters.  (See the images HERE!)

Xena in the Amazon outfit was the top vote getter. And we'll be use a shot of her in that costume for one of the posters. Next up was Xena wearing the white outfit walking out of the ocean. We'll definitely do that in the next batch of posters. Other top choices were:

Xena on Argo and we've got a full body side shot of Xena riding Argo that will be one of the first four posters made.

Gabrielle in her sixth season outfit with the sais was the #1 choice and one of those shots will be in the first batch. Other top choices were:

First choice was Xena and Gabrielle on the hillside from the end of Motherhood. The shot is a bit grainy, so we didn't choose it for the first batch, but we'll see if we can do that one in the next batch.

The duo shot we're going to use is the large month photo from the November 1999 calendar. It's when Lucy and Renee got the giggles during a photo shoot with Argo. Although I think the horse was an innocent bystander <G> Other choices were:

Janice and Mel received a fair amount of votes both separately and from people wanting a duo shot.

The Egyptian shots of Xena and Gabrielle got a lot of votes. As well as the dancing Xena and Gabrielle photos from Who's Gurkhan, the Arabian outfits from Legacy and the farmer girls from Ares Farm.

We will have posters of some of the guest stars in the future for Ares, Callisto and Joxer fans.

If any members of the clubs have been to some of our recent conventions or bought some of the latest photos online, you might have noticed a difference in the quality of our new photos. They're now being done digitally and when we saw samples of them, we were astounded. They are so rich, the color practically flows through your hands.

We're happy to be able to announce that the photo clubs will now be produced using the same system. Xena February is in production now and should be shipping very shortly. Herc will start with March as February was already produced before we made the switch. When you receive them, we'd love to hear some feedback :)

I interviewed Lucy recently for the next newsletter and she was rummaging around in her closet among her scripts looking for the one we were talking about. She said she had all of them except one, "Is There A Doctor In The House?" After we were done, I decided to see if I could find it for her.

I think it might have been auctioned off at our first Xena convention. If anyone has any information on who might have bought it, I'd love some help on being able to get her the script. It sure would be a great surprise if we could pull this off for her.

The script has her notes in it. That's how you can tell it from any others auctioned off.

Lucy's guest appearance on "Just Shoot" Me will air Feb 15th. We've heard she had a lot of fun working on the show.

We just received a packet of wedding photos from Reneé to put in the next fan club newsletter. She didn't release any publicly and wishes only to share them with the fans. She and Steve also included a note they wanted us to pass along to everyone who wished them well on this truly happy occasion:

"Hello everyone! It's about time we dropped a note thanking "all ya'll" for the generosity you showed when we were married. The letters of congratulations were greatly appreciated. Also, raising money for charity was the perfect way to show your good wishes for us. We were truly amazed and humbled by such a force of benevolence. We had a wonderful wedding day, surrounded by our families, and we hope to take a long, relaxing honeymoon sometime this year. Thanks for showing that again, the Xena fans ROCK!"

Xena November Photo Club in house and will be mailed this week. Hercules photos should arrive any day. Xena Dec will be Antony and Cleopatra -- Jan will be the end of Antony and Cleo and the beginning of Legacy -- Feb will be the rest of Legacy. We had so many good shots from these two episodes, that we made them each a month and a half. Hope you will enjoy them.

Lucy and the Starship Hospital continue to be amazed by the generosity of all the Xena fans who have been donating money through various fund-raising efforts for their battle against child abuse.

Been getting some great feedback on the Xena kit and the behind-the-scenes documentary. The most common statement is that people had no idea how much work and how many people it takes to put the show together. And, boy, doesn't Michael Hurst look great in a dress!

Here are the answers to some questions I've been getting. The young woman getting into the truck with Lucy and Renee at the end is Lucy's daughter, Daisy. As for Renee's hair -- she had just had the corn rows taken out and came bouncing over to where we were set up to film them getting into the truck pointing to her hair and laughing about how funny it looked. We wanted them to be natural and she obliged (grin) The boots you see them wearing -- soundstages are cold and have concrete floors. For those of you trying to spot me in the video -- I did an Alfred Hitchcock cameo in Lucy's sunglasses when she's talking about being splashed with water. And, no, the young man Lucy was trying to find a date for has not yet been spoken for (grin)

And the part about the video that got the biggest raves -- seeing the relationship between Lucy and Renee. The way they work and play with each other is bringing smiles to everyone's faces.

We now have in house the behind-the-scenes documentary/blooper tape, posters, certificates, membership cards and the kit boxes. The lithos and newsletter #13 are due Monday. We'll be starting to ship next week. I just wish I could be a fly on the wall of every house as you folks play the tape for the first time <G>

XENA KIT #4 -- box, poster, lithos, membership card, certificate, newsletter at the printer. The bonus item is in house.  The Xena Behind-the-Scenes video for kit #4 with Season Five bloopers is approved -- no changes :) I think we said in the ad it was going to be 40 minutes long, yes? I lied -- it's 60 minutes long plus 10 minutes of bloopers! One hour of life on the set of Xena with no commercials! (grin)

All those burning questions are answered. What lipstick does Xena wear?  What brand body wash do they use to turn the fair-skinned Lucy into dark and dangerous Xena? What does Renee have for breakfast? Get to be in the rehearsal room with the choreographer as Renee learns her dance. And peer into the dark shadows of the set as Lucy learns hers. And what do two friends do when they're lying in each other's arms on a stack of pillows waiting for the camera crew to set up? Share the hard work, the laughter and the tears that go into the making of the show. And if you're not whistling "Baby Elephant Walk" for a week after watching the tape, you're a better man than I am Gunga Din.

I have to redo one of the NTSC master tapes and it will be off to the duplicating house next week.

I'm hoping to have all kit parts in house and starting to ship the end of the month. The kits are shipped priority mail.

I've just seen "The Abyss." It contained, for me, the most heart-breaking scene. Gabrielle's been keeping something secret from Xena and the revelation was so painful, I just turned it off after the scene was over. I'll go back and watch the end of the show later.

So I went home last night and put the episode back in. There was an interim scene and then I was hit in the heart again! Gabrielle makes a request of Xena and I lost it! I wound up sitting on the floor watching through to the end, cuz I just couldn't get close enough to the screen (grin)

I rarely make posts about upcoming episodes, but when something affects me this much, I just want to let people know something good is coming. I don't want to give more away cuz then you won't feel it the same way I did.

We've just posted artwork of the contents of our upcoming Official Fan Club Kit #4. Needless to say this is gonna be the best yet, especially considering the exclusive documentary "Behind the Scenes of Xena."

The documentary is about an hour long and we're extremely proud of this production. We captured all the hard work and fun of filming our favorite series when we spent two weeks down in New Zealand.
